I wonder if they will use the more common outfit, the updated outfit (open jacket and pants), or something else that is close to the Wonder Woman design since the common outfit seems kind of outdated and it might not fit the whole Wonder Woman image since Amazons seem to be the ultimate feminists.

So the new doomsday device is a laser pen, surgical laser, and a Doomsday weapon? Could just see the headlines now. School destroyed because teacher had laser on the wrong setting. When asked why the teacher had a doomsday weapon, he said he was using it for demonstration purposes in his physics lab.

While having at least a 72 hour emergency kit and a good food storage is always a good idea due to various natural disasters, the world is as likely to end tomorrow as it is going to end in two years.
The whole idea of the world ending based on the Mayan Calendar is just as foolish as thinking the world will end in December 31, 9999 AD since the calendar system is ended. All that they need to do is have January 1, 10000 AD. Also various cultures and organizations have their own ideas about what will happen in 2012. Some believe that some terrible event will occur while others believe that humanity will transcend or some other event that will benefit humanity. The most common and rational belief is that 2012 will be just like any other year. 2012 is just like 2000. We have the same nutcases screaming that the world will end in 2012 that were present in 2000.
The only thing we need to do to those that proclaimed that the world will end in 2012, is in 2013 laugh at them. Chances are they will come up with some new doomsday deadline or show that the conversion factor for the Mayan Calendar was off so it is actually 2015 instead of 2012. -
Infinite Comedy (Ninja/Dark MM) will join.

There is also the problem of Hulu and similar websites not being accessible in Canada. Just because of a stupid imaginary line south of where I live, I can't watch various shows or clips on various American TV websites like Comedy Central. I find it due to certain people not willing to give up control. There needs to be some serious changes to copyright law so it does not screw over the artists.
The only things I download are anime, manga, and TV shows. With anime and manga, it usually takes months to years before it comes out in North America. Also there is a ton of anime and manga that will never reach North America through regular means. -
I have a question about fansubs and scanlations (anime and manga that have been translated from their original language). Would owning any fansubs or scanlations violate copyright infringement since it has been changed from the original form? The process of creating a fansub or scanlation would violate some law since it is changing a product without the permission of the creator, but the fansub or scanlation is a new product.

While I don't have a problem with the look of the costume, I have a problem with it not being Spiderman's first costume. Spiderman is the poor everyday superhero that doesn't have access to advanced resources like Batman or Iron Man. Basically he is the geeky loner that eventually becomes a successful superhero and marries a hot model. Spiderman seems to have more of a connection to the majority of comic fans than other iconic superheroes. OMD does not exist as far as I am concerned. The costume would be fine if it was Spiderman 4 or 5 since by then he could establish connections with various well-funded superhero organizations to provide him a better costume, but not as his first costume.

Quote:Too bad we can't harness the power of stupidity and ignorance. We could power the world with such a cheap and plentiful energy source.Basically, what I'm saying is, if a power source is ever developed, expect it to never be developed properally because of the lunatic fringe.
I wonder what would happen if we gather all the people with an IQ above 140 to one area and all the people with an IQ below 80 on the opposite side of the world. Obviously we would have the smartest and dumbest cities in the world, but would something similar to magnetic poles be created? -
Quote:So instead of using the term piracy it should be called forgery? Interesting.Notice the bold. For theft to occur, something has to be physically taken away from the owner, and in the case of downloading, you're only taking a copy. It's a big game of semantics, sure, but that's what some "filesharing" advocates use as justification. And if anything is ever going to be done to stop/slow/handle the whole filesharing mess, that definition will need to be adjusted for digital media.
Quote:You're depriving the creator of royalties. Therefore, it is theft.
Personally, I think the only way to combat forgery is for the artists to go after the bittorrent and other P2P sites with a cease and desist letter since music companies has lost almost all credibility. After all as recent news has shown, music companies are bigger crooks than any person who uses P2P software to download music. -
The future is always in a state of flux. It only becomes evident when a time traveler goes back in time and accidentally squashes a butterfly to realize they completely screwed over history. One of The Simpsons' halloween specials was also a good indication of mediocre events by the time traveler causing dire changes to the future.

Alternate Dimension is appropriate since one of the theories about reality is that it is just like a book where each page is a universe. Just because we can't see the 4th dimension doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Alternate Reality and Alternate Universe are interchangeable since you can't have a reality without a universe. Alternate Dimension and Alternate Timeline define the relationship between the two or more alternate realities being compared.
Other people would claim that God is on another planet orbiting a star. There was a recent Futurama episode where the Professor releases nanobots into pond scum and that started robotic evolution on a planet where their entire civilization lasted only a week or two since robots do everything fast. To that culture, the Professor is God. It is one of those topics that is nice to talk about, but ultimately futile until a)God personally claims responsibility which is unlikely or b)All is revealed in the afterlife. -
If some person downloaded a certain file, then there is a good chance that they wouldn't have even paid a cent to the company if it was only available for purchase. Therefore, the whole idea of companies losing money because of piracy is flawed since they would only lose some business due to piracy. There is also the issue of reselling. If I purchase a new car, then I can sell it to someone else. With downloads and computer games there is no value to the product. I can sell or give away old games to a friend, but some of the more recent ones I can't since they are attached to my account. Which is why I prefer businesses like Netflicks and official Online comics where you can watch or read as much as you want for a monthly fee.

At least it is not a remake of the original Star Wars to make it fit with the prequel. Although, there would be a lot of happy Star Wars fans if they did a remake of the prequel that had the same appeal as the original.

A while ago, we had the discussion of legality about using P2P programs like bittorrent. Some us view it as acceptable, others don't, and some others view only certain aspects of it acceptable. Based on that argument, I thought how long do you think needs to be waited before various media becomes acceptable for obtaining a free electronic copy of it. There is the obvious stipulation that there is no income to be made from the media and it is only for personal use.
My opinion on this issue is that once a movie is available on public television, then it becomes acceptable. Also games and software are acceptable after 5 or more years depending on if a) there is no equivalent product like the King Quest Series DVD being sold or b)the company is no longer making any money on the product. If I wanted to download a copy of Windows 95, then it wouldn't affect Microsoft sales at all. -
I was so happy when I saw the Baccano posting, but was annoyed when it was revealed to be a hoax. Of course, there is always next year.

I would imagine that the level boost is the exact same game mechanic used for the level debuff in the new Incarnate TFs. If your pets lose some levels when under the debuff, then they should gain some levels based on the level boost. Besides if pets aren't affected by the level boost, then it would be a bug since other AT's power would be buffed to accommodate a level boost.

I am so tempted to say, "Sorry, it was me. I just couldn't hold it in anymore." It could also explain global warming if someone with really nasty bowel movements went to the Arctic and Antarctica and let it go.

Why should we be sad about an 80 year old actress that suffered with cancer for years passing away? We should be happy that she is no longer suffering and that she had a good life. I just can't feel sorry for any individual that lived that long passing away.

All leaked info is subject to chance since it might have been true at that point, but the devs decide to go in another direction. The only confirmed info about the slots is the name of each slot, that Judgement is going to be an AoE attack of some kind, and the Alpha slot is a global enhancement that will allow us to be effectively level 51 eventually. Even the info about Ion Radial Final Judgement is subject to change since there is no confirmation about it anywhere except some code that slipped through.

Pets can be resummoned whenever you want, but their effectiveness disappears if you disappear. Maneuvers boosts defense by 2.625% while Tough boosts damage resistance by 15% and Weave boosts defense by 4.5%. If you team lots, then Maneuvers is useful, but if you solo lots, then Weave is more useful than Maneuvers since Bots are replaceable.

I would recommend the Skolia series by Catherine Asaro. It involves three empires that each have an established culture for each. Two of the civilizations originate from a bunch of Mayans that were taken by some unknown group thousands of years ago and created an interstellar empire that lasted for a few centuries before it collapsed. Earth which is basically a trader empire that tries to mediate conflicts between the other two. The series version of Starbucks is apparently on every world. The Skolian Imperialate that has an instantaneous communication network powered by telepaths. And the Eubian Concord that are a bunch of slave traders were only a few thousand genetically modified people control trillions of people and enslave telepaths because they are not considered human.
The series deals with FTL travel, antimatter storage, nanobiotechnology, cybernetics, and AI. The Eubian Concord can be considered as Lovecraftian due to the pain they inflict on telepaths and how their brains don't act in the same way as humans do. Although there are no Lovecraftian abominations in this series just humans and genetically modified humans. -
I see this problem simply as do I learn about a place by going on to the internet or do I learn about it by actually living there? The end result is the same, but how we get there is very different. With the person that chose knowledge, they have only an hour left, but the person that chose experience would have millions of lifetimes of experience and is able to gain the same knowledge that the other person gained with the added knowledge that they were actually able to use the knowledge for their own benefit.
As far as the mind not being able to handle to immortality, there are various technologies that would be able to increase brain capacity, but that won't help with the first few billion years. Although, there is not much to see for the first few billion years. There is only about a thousand years of civilization that has any real meaning.
However, both would still have no clue as to what would happen after the universe "ended." So they would end up the same as far as what the most important question of the moments before the end of the universe. Equally clueless.
