I haven't seen a COP on Infinity in months; which channels do you promote them on? In any case, I'd love to participate in one, and will almost definitely be online that night.

One question; I assume this is blueside?

Maurya - Blaster.

Another one who hs never done this one before (well, I was part of an unsuccessful attempt on Test, but that was still buggy).

Please, remember to include what AT and name of AT you will be bringing. Also, these Saturday events are promoted via this board, and on the day of the event starting around 12:30 EST I broadcast it. Those who sign up are guaranteed a spot. Check the boards before to see if there are spots available. Usually there are a few who do not show up, but getting a spot without signing up is a gamble.

Running these events is a challenge, but I enjoy it. Most folks are very kind to me, even though I get flustered. LOL

Which AT I bring depends on if this is red or blue... which I could have deduced from the use of Talos as a meeting place had I applied a modicum of brain power.

Which means I'll be bringing

Fitheal McClurichaun - War Mace / WP Brute

I hope we have a few people who have done it at least a few times. I've done it.... I think 3 times before the Incarnate system and twice since then. One of those early ones was a redside attempt which failed. The others were all blue and successful. I was not leading any of them.

I suspect our fearless leader will want you to bring this toon. For anyone who doesn't know it, the CoP Trial is started from inside a supergroup base. Therefore, the leader of each team needs to be in the same SG so that their teammates can all get into the base. Mud.Bug, Doctor A Science and Ironblade are all in the same SG (and we have a Raid Teleporter).

I can bring Ironblade (BS/regen scrapper), Dr Dolomite (stone/stone tank) or Captain Firekin (fire/kin troller). They are all in the same SG and level 50. I've moved my other 50's to an alt SG.

I'm thinking the ones I was on were broadcast on "Inf Badge Seeker" and possibly "Infinity Hamidon". (The person who organized them is an operator on Inf Badge Seeker.)

Here is a link to Amygdala's Guide to the Cathedral of Pain Trial.

I would like to participate as Pro-tector, a level 50 energy/energy blaster. Please add me to the sign-up list.

I have participated in four runs of the trial, including one on the test server. It's challenging, for sure.

Team composition is very important, as is strategy. Amygdala's guide covers both points comprehensively.

Let me add, during runs I participated in, success or failure depended on how fast the teams could process the spawns of Soldiers of Rularuu and Lanaruu. Tankers or other characters with taunting and aggro management abilities were very helpful in localizing the spawns, allowing the teams to defeat the spawns quickly and efficiently.

For the AV, debuffers were key: in particular, any powers that reduced the AV's health regeneration rate.

When I did my runs, a few months ago, teams relied on summoned pets including Vanguard HVAS units and Shivans for added damage output. (I'm not sure if those pets can still be used during the trial. But, Warburg missiles cannot be used--the ability to launch chemical, biological, and nuclear missiles was removed by the Devs.)

I'm not sure if I can make it to this. I have to take my daughter to the S.A.T.'s early in the morning and will probably have to pick her up just as you guys are getting started. I'll let you know if I can work something out.

Infinite Comedy (Ninja/Dark MM) will join.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

I've not done this, as it's been offline my entire subscription. I suspect there is a badge involved, so please add my badger Myztar to the list of signups (lvl 50 Mind/FF).

Some days I just wake up cranky. Today might be one of those days...

Two, actually. You get 'Pain Killer' automatically for completing the trial. If you choose the buff as your reward, you also get 'Power Liberator' (for heroes and vigilantes) or 'Master Thief' (for villains and rogues).

Done it 3 times, once while it was broken on test and two failed runs on live. Stupid hurricane -.-

Every trial I have been on started in the Rikti War Zone - presumably for those exact reasons.

Just wanted to add that you're right, technically it doesn't matter too much where you start. Some zones just have added convenience or in some cases, depending on your server, more distractions you may want to avoid.

As for the length of the guide, it is quite long and I did expand upon some ideas in more detail. The was done in response to reading about the concerns other players had on the forums. If you don't have time to read the entire thing, glancing over the strategy section ("Trial Part 1: Obelisks" and "Trial Part 2: Inside the Cathedral") would be most useful. If you're really low on time, watch the video posted under "Screenshots and Videos" at the end.

Good luck!

OK - we can meet in Pocket D.. much better that way. I never even thought of that. You are so smart Ironblade!

Actually, we still need to pick a side, because we have to enter someone's base to access the trial through their teleporter. If the base is for a hero SG, only heroes and vigilantes can enter and join. If for a villain VG, only villains and rogues can enter and join.

I'll be there with War Shield (MA/SD), Lockpick (DP/NRG), or Exorcist (ILL/RAD).
