  1. Two things I'll add, and they are related:

Assuming each team takes a wing of the complex, each team will collectively get ten temp powers (either the acids or the grenades). This means two players on each team will get two powers. Do not assume that, if you've used your acid/given away your grenade, you do not have any more. (Ideally, pay attention to whether the "Temp Power!" alert flashed more than once for you, but this might get missed in the shootout.) As new temps, they will all be at the bottom of your Temp Power list, so look carefully... or just keep a couple slots open on your main power bar for them to drop into, then they're easy to find.

In the unlikely event that you don't get all ten acids (or some goober just can't seem to find his despite the above advice), a container will regularly spawn in the north-east of the outer complex (with guards). Smash it and get another acid, hopefully in the hands of someone more on top of things. You will really want all ten doors destroyed, so the reinforcements don't start to overwhelm you. (Likewise, if you run out of grenades, a crate plus guards will spawn to the west, but the time involved in restocking will probably not be worth it... suck it up!)
  2. Blizzard opens up a new supply every year or so. Clearly, we need to invade them for their resources. It's the only way we can survive!

  4. When starting up CoX, on an inconsistent basis, the taskbar will reassert over the game interface, as if I'd alt-tabbed out but with nothing to alt-tab out to. Trying to alt-tab back into the game brings it to the front for about half a second before the taskbar reasserts again. There is no way to play the game while the taskbar is on top.
  5. I'm unable even to get as far as everyone else. Currently, http://boards.cityofheroes.com/charactercopy.php loads a completely blank page for me. (On Firefox. On IE it's a 500 error.)
  6. Actually, we still need to pick a side, because we have to enter someone's base to access the trial through their teleporter. If the base is for a hero SG, only heroes and vigilantes can enter and join. If for a villain VG, only villains and rogues can enter and join.
  7. About 20 of us tried to take a crack at the Cathedral of Pain today but we hit a game-breaker bug. It seems that something about the Psionic Resonator of Despair causes people to crash when they try to attack it (after the shields are down). It doesn't affect everyone, but when we moved people around between teams (so that the crashing people were attacking other Resonators), they did fine but many of the new people on Team Despair crashed out in their place. We weren't able to figure out what was special about the few that weren't crashing (I was one of them), but we were in the minority.

Technically you shouldn't have been able to apply the second at all. Having successfully shoved a Coralax code through during the chaos yesterday, but also being unsure whether it took, I tried another two or three after things recovered. The system responded not that "this code is taken" but that "this code is invalid."

I find it more likely that it just crashed but that "scheduled" is the default message when you can't connect. "Yes, we totally meant to do that. Really!"

    Getting the same problem.
  11. I'm also good for either, or for that matter most anything blueside, but I can't guarantee my presence.
  12. Okay, keep us posted. My tank still needs all but ITF and Kahn mastery herself.

Withdrawing. It looks like my entire Saturday is booked.

  15. Dearest, the most awesome of Masterminds, shall attend.
  16. My Brute, Robin Duffy, shall round out the team.
  17. Dearest, my Thug/Poison MM, is freshly rogued and wanting to try out some of those heroics she's been hearing about. See you there.

Well, yes, but I try to ignore that part and focus on the badges. (The sweet sweet badges...)
  19. Have I mentioned how much I like having you around, Novastar?

    See you this weekend.

Likewise. You might be better off waiting until summer is in progress and the collegeates and high schoolers have too much free time.
  21. The Embalmed trick mentioned earlier in this thread applies to any target that eventually dies on its own, provided that your team does more than 10% of the total damage inflicted to it before it dies. It is therefore a huge help for the arsons if you can't find any help to do it normally: just hit each fire with the extinguisher at least once and you'll get badge credit for all of them when the building explodes. Other good badging uses:

Devouring Earth Emanators -- Run up, punch it once, move on to the next and let it expire on its own. Great in Primeva where you don't even have to get the lieutenants in a spawning mood, since they'll already be summoning them against CoT or Arachnos; just look for the glowy spots.

Carnie Illusions -- Better to punch all three once, rather than waste time trying to bring down one or two completely only to have the last despawn on you before you can touch it.

This doesn't seem to work on Rikti invasion bombs, however. I suspect it's because they "die" having regenerated all their health, so your own damage doesn't count. (Which would mean that you don't get credited for any arson fires that a Hellion firebombs back to full health.)

Speaking of the 10% limit, if Eochai and Jack have been slugging it out for long enough, you won't get a badge for either of them. Reason? The amount of damage Jack has done to Eochai is more than nine times the damage it takes to defeat Eochai (but delivered so slow that Eochai regenerates it all), and vice versa. So when you take down one or the other, your team still hasn't delivered at least 10% of the total damage they've suffered since spawning.

Once you have access to DJ Zero as a contact (by earning Handsome/Beautiful), he's available for missions year-round, not just during the Spring event. Handy for villains who want Cap Buster in the off-season.

Halloween's Eternal Night is an excellent time for certain badge hunts, as some creatures spawn more often/only at night in some zones. For instance, the BP Mask Spirits near the Talos Island gate to Dark Astoria, the Vampires in the Bog and Bonny Morass of Striga, or the Warwolves on the ridge overlooking the Pit in Sharkhead.

As of Issue 16, Marcone Bosses in Nerva (Crimson Cove) count toward both Untouchable and Gangbuster.
  22. Good RP groups blueside inclue Hero Heights and Longbow Black Ops, and Paragon Broadcasting Station for a very casual level of RP. Redside there's Bloodvine Academy but not much else of note.

You can swing by Pocket D between 10 and 12 Eastern, Friday and Saturday, and see all those groups... or you could last weekend, but that was partially due to the presence of PBS running their Split Infinity Radio broadcast at those times. They officially had their last ingame broadcast last Saturday, so I'm not sure who'll be there this week.
