You're right, what was I thinking? Of course they wouldn't want to adapt the power sets to match the Tanker play style; instead, they'd want to make it the non-tanking Tanker primary, because that would be funnier.
-
Can't beat the convenience for crafting. Some of the other stuff, maybe not so much, but I still really like them. I also like them from a theme standpoint, and frankly, this game is more about theme than about efficiency.
-
I would love to see a (fixed) Energy Aura proliferated. A scrapper /nin, though, would have to be wildly different.
... Of course, now that you've got me thinking about this, think how awesome a (much-adapted) ninjitsu/ tanker primary would be. -
Just as Cassandra was cursed to fortell the future, but never be believed, so too was the primal MMO Developer cursed to always announce things that the players wanted, and get yelled at for ignoring the players. It is not the players who are powerful, but whatever dire forces the first MMO developers displeased. They say this has been true since the days of the First Nerf.

I am sure they will give you a full refund of the purchase price if you find it disappointing. Heck, this one comes with a double your money back guarantee!
-
No, no, NO! When we said "please please please make it so we don't have to unlock all that vanguard gear on every single toon", what we meant was JUST US, NOT OTHER PEOPLE. So it can be special evidence of hard work and dedication without being such a pain.
I am sure I speak for the entire forum community when I say that I didn't say what I said yesterday, and I'm not going to say what I say tomorrow. So fix this! -
Quote:No, because they are not moral agents -- they don't have the capacity for comprehending the choices involved. Is a shark evil when it attacks swimmers? Is a runaway train evil when it crashes into a busy platform? Are dingoe's evil when they take a child?
Quote:Of course not. So why would a machine, even a sentient one, be evil when it destroys? -
I don't understand the distinction you're drawing. What does it matter whether they're your kind or some other kind? Desire to inflict suffering is generally regarded as evil, without any need for qualifiers like "but only if you're doing it to things that are like you".

A friend of mine had a widow who was, in fact, a catgirl (well, was starting at level 10). I think she's ex-Arachnos, though. Someone who hasn't got an emotional attachment to intestines should ask about that.
-
The other thing, of course, is ill/rad troller. Not so much for huge groups, but stupendous on hard targets, and can clear nearly anything.
My first ill/rad soloed Frostfire at level 10. That's an elite boss -- usually regarded as a hard target. And I didn't know what I was doing. (Like, I didn't know there was a way to break mez.) -
It really isn't that bad. It's not stupendously perfect and awesome, but if you had two teams, and one had a /dev blaster and one had any of the other sets, all else being equal, I doubt you'd even be able to measure a difference in 99% of cases.
... And in the ones where you could, it might be because /dev's "situational" powers fit the situation. -
A friend of mine plays a bunch of catgirls. None of them are ERP catgirls, they're all fierce things with claws catgirls. I mentioned to a friend "oh, she plays mostly catgirls", and then about a minute later said "I mean fierce things with claws catgirls." And got a relieved "oh, is THAT what you mean, okay".

The % in 5% def or 6% accuracy is sometimes interpreted as a printf-like format specifier, which is a bug.
I wish enhancements and inspirations auto-stacked when dropped on the Stored tab so you could sell them in stacks if you wanted to. -
FWIW, ended up going with elec/rad. Hoping elec's endurance management tools help manage rad's toggles, and rad's debuffs help make up for elec's damage limitations. We'll see! I'm all the way to level 5, and it looks like that first recharge reduction TO won't QUITE get me to perma-AM.
-
Inference: We could trade them for cash.
-
DP hasn't got Aim. Nor has it got a snipe.
-
When I priced that level 50 IO, I was hoping for an 8-digit number. I got... more. If you recently bid an extra zero on something, let me know what it was and how much, and I can see about refunding some of the excess. (Heck, I'll just refund the whole price, even though market fees are pretty close to what I was asking, it's not as though I need the money.)

I came here from another game, and what I continue to be grateful for is the in-game community. I dunno whether you guys have a different player base to start with, or moderate more actively, or what, but the tone of discussion is so much better.

Even if a creature is entirely killed by confused critters, so what? Missing one minion's XP while we're being not-attacked by a boss is totally a good tradeoff. I have no worries about the XP cost of confusion, and frankly, I don't care whether other people do; they're objectively wrong to worry about it and I shan't encourage such things.
And as I recall, elec has a particularly NICE confuse? -
Quote:I once read an extremely accurate review of FLCL that highlighted this.Being interested in Asian entertainment doesn't make you crazy. Being crazy helps, though.
Excerpt:
Quote:Time-Traveling Harry S Truman, Defeater of the Moonmen and Champion of the
Capital of Earth, America: Can do!
Which causes me to realize: It would be awesome to do a FLCL-inspired character. But when will we get Incoherence Control and Vespa Assault sets so I can make the character properly? -
Quote:A friend of mine, who is a huge fan, has explained the secret:Especially for One Piece where you absolutely must suspend your disbelief to enjoy it.
Whenever you find something that seems like it might not make sense, just say "Of COURSE it is!" (Or he, or she, or whatever.)
"There's a giant volcano in the back of the restaurant."
"Of COURSE there is."
It actually somehow helps, because if you think of it in terms of narrative structure rather than in terms of physics, you realize how well done it is.
... So they tell me. My aspie brain won't let me start a show until I know whether or not they finish it, because I won't watch something that doesn't have an ending. -
I very much disapprove of limiting temp powers, because they're useful for concept characters. Someone I know, I believe, has a character who's pretty much all pool powers and temp powers. I have a concept character who wants to have pretty much every conceivable temp power even though they're only marginally useful.

Would you play with Captain Knockback?
Answer: Helpy McHelperson, my grav/storm troller with the full teleport pool, is actually a lot of fun. If I advertise for teams warning people in advance that it is "grav/storm played for laughs", people do indeed team with him and apparently have a great deal of fun doing so.
... Though they do twitch involuntarily and cover their faces every time they hear the words "I'm helping!" thereafter. -
Traps can take a while to bloom. I've got a traps/dp def, who seems to be at the very least awesome on teams.
