then i am not talking to you, my irritation is with thinking that merging the markets will solve the root cause tof why the villain market is out of whack in the first place, more people need to play redside. and as for fewer opportunities to earn merits, I have never seen it consistently shown that it is not just true over long play sessions, or if you exploit things blueside. otherwise villains have less high merit options but they go far faster than blueside, so unless you play for well over 4-5 hours, you still are staying close to the same net yield. if there are currently exploits, the developers can and have adjusted merits accordingly, but unless you play for very extended play sessions, the merit limits are not the root cause of the supply drought.

kind of my deal too, I dont disllike high levels, but recent and less recent advances in customization started the alt-bug a percolating, and getting them up post level 35 is the current priority.

funny thing is, my first purple was perfect for the character it dropped for (a hecatomb for my ma scrapper) and dropped from the same enemy, a green conning nemesis minion in peregrine islands, that a rare wing recipie dropped from back when they were very rare.
  3. I am upgrading my computer, apparently while the most of it was good, the power supply was tiny and wouldnt support any real graphics cards that posi had suggested for ultra mode, so upgrading that, and just going through and getting my higher level guys some io's, since with posi's apparent reassignment to work on endgame (and unspecified other stuff) i get the feelign that just being able to fight through the itf is no longer the power level that i will be able to get away with.
  4. ya know, maybe people could just play red side more and put more things on the market. there is that option too. if everyone who complained would take an active role rather than asking for people to do the work for them, we might see some supply finally.
  5. Crane kick- hey, he is 30 levels lower than me....wonder how far he will fly? its like Adam and Jamie invited chick lidell along

also, ice slick, watching a bunch of enemies pop around like popcorn is the definition of happiness, adding in freezing rain from my controller makes me giggle like a little kid.

oh and sterling is right, carrion creepers are much fun..plus they force you to toss them on huge groups to see how much i can grow at once...in the itf, i make forests.
  6. well, i have some concepts that i am saving up for a gunner and a demoner, but beyond that, i was hoping to roll a mind/psi dom who rolls blueside and , if possible, a turncoat widow who goes blue.
  7. I will get you some friday.
  8. father x gets a good bit of it. all mmos are repetitive, but instancing, while it solves a host of other issues, does highlight that the maps are drawn from a pool that is realistically limited. Honestly though, fed ex, kill 10 rats, get 10 rat tails and the ocasional kill micky the rat are the building blocks of most mmos out there, and while some do clever jobs covering them up, they still break down to those 4. I still say that i have yet to have as much fun in any mmo as i have here in a mayhem mission, something about engaging a bunch of cops in a littered alley, slamming down foot stomp and watching them fly AND the entire alley explode with debris is something i have yet to see in another game.
  9. also, even if the stories are true, sometimes the most interesting morality tale is to see someone with a good intention go wrong and undo himself, and be too blind with ambition to see it till eventually someone with his old ideals undoes him. that a a trope as old as greek tragedy. but i suspect that the tyrant bio was only the smallest part of the true story.
  10. we got the sanitized official press release, i suspect that on the resistance side, we will find out that some of those facts were manufactured or flat out lies. tyrant apparently read "the prince". keep in mind, a few well placed media sock puppets can sway public opinion.
  11. i have to say that it would be bad storytelling from my perspective. dying holds meaning, it is a sacrifice, if that just gets handwaved away for vanity, then it loses meaning. superman should still be dead, cap should have stayed dead, same with batman, and witch should stay dead. besides, she still can talk to us, and even numidia is non corporeal and gives a tf, so while id be thrilled to see her used more, she must stay dead.
  12. you seem to be thinking of sorcery, no powers like it here, though dominators can get some of the functions, but nothing like the semi broken goodness of circle of the primal storm.

  14. two thoughts. 1. i suspect that redside may actually benefit from gr, as i suspect a lot of players will go for the content spread of being a rogue/vigilante and basically be able to play either side, i know several of my characters who dont have strongly set back stories that would preclude that will be going freelance, even if they stay in their original side until someone mentions doing something on the other side on the global channel.

second, blueside was developed first, as such it conformes more to older gaming conventions, like the hunt alls and fedexes, redside was developed with the knowledge gained from blueside, so the zones and tf''s are more concise. the reactions of people humorously help both validate and question both design styles, ya really cant please everyone can ya? I just say screw it and street sweep till around level 6-7(longer for stalkers, as they can snipe high value street bosses for quite a long while), a red conning boss and a few inspires will be half a level right there.
  15. well, i haven't got as many 50's as most people posting here, altitis and rerolls are a hell of a thing, but I am watching the endgame thing with interest. It will be a change to the game, and change always carries inherent risks of not being enjoyable and locking you out of content, or it could be too team centric and wind up being problematic for soloists or small group exclusive players. but with risks come rewards, and endgame does seem to appeal heavily to a segment of the online gamer population.

Of course, to me endgame is just forestalling the eventual, no game can have infinite content, and progression will stop, that cant be stopped with the long running nature of mmos, and any endgame is simply a additional number of steps to the same eventuality, so i dunno, endgame never was the big thing for me. heck, purpling out a 50 without farming is a task in itsself, so i haven't even hit that "endgame" yet. and i have my 66 vet badge.

oh, and damz, smack me again, i have been naughty.
  16. i love a good insane post. Anyhow, i have wanted them to do a good hostess fruitpie joke for a while, they were a part of old comic culture for a long while. and a one off joke or two would be funny. Of course, now that the woman who put the great jokes in the flavor text is running the show, it is not unlikely that we will get some references like that even more now.

  18. it is pretty good, i like how it sets up ambiguity in the character, you can see the road to hell being paved with good intentions.
  19. well, nothing really indicates that he is leaving rather than turning of pm's because he is going to be swamped by work, but he had better not be leaving. he made 2009 for me on coh and him leaving would be a major blow to me.

no, that was champions onli...dammit golden, get away from my computer.

but i can see it, smaller number of servers makes things convenient, plus, i think the time frame works out better for when europeans would be home while paragon guys would still be at work.

oh, we havent forgotten you my dear, Costume fanatics like myself are still stalking you from the minimum of the police mandated distances..now about going rogue, we are talking metric butt-ton of new costumes, including new monstrous bits... RIGHT??
  22. ok, one quick q, are those bits available to players as well, or was that resistance guy an npc with specific npc costume parts? if players than excuse me while a freak the heck out.
  23. a while ago a music video by the singer alicia keys reminded me of coh, due to a superhero them to it(they did seem to be going for hancock more though) where she seems to use healing superpowers, a motorcycle with a superspeed-like trail, and a flashy version of superjump. I got a giggle when she heals a dog with a purple aura power, my first thought was that she was using empathy powers with a purple customization job.

Getting around the city has never been easier.

My current villain group of 10 characters have no travel powers - they all use jetpacks and all log out at the markets for the teleporter. I've got the Ninja Run on one account and decided is not worth it for the other (plus, I dont really like the animation).
yes, i was about to say this. we now get 2 travel powers from mayhem/safeguards, can purchase them relatively cheaply, and beyond the lack of vertical movemenet, there are several methods of mitigating the speed aspect with powers like swift, quickness, the soa abilities, kheld's natural travel powers and the like.

Also glad to see posi post, after local events with a number of industries screwing their workers with some pleasently smiling executives lie through their teeth at us about how valued those workers were, so I am extra paranoid about scumbag suits and good workers being tossed under the bus. As I said though, i really like witch, like her work, like her work ethic, like her personality insofar as i have seen her interact with us and think she will be a significant positive for the community.
