  2. It is what it is. Personally i was under the impression that comicshaven already did everything that pu does , but meh either way, what you get is what is advertised, if that is your thing, then you may as well check it out, more than one forum is too much time commitment for me.

you dont pull the pin and you throw it really frelling hard.

well, for me, it seems that shapeshifting is thus far limited to kheldians, id like to see a natural shape-shifting set, with things like eagles, snakes, giant wolves and bears, but i feel bab's hands reaching out to throttle me over the suggestion fo animating all of that.

i would love a pulp fiction-y ray gun set, would likely be too specific to go with, but with mad science style blast/buff pairing with shrink rays, freeze rays, and more futuristic pistol designs than would make sense with dual pistols.

tail melee, kind of like the scorpion from spiderman, your tail would be like a crab backpack, uniform and unchangeable, and all attack animations would come from it. i can see this being an animation nightmare as well, given that the tail would have to involve a lot of turning.

finally, onmyoji control. use geomancery and possessed paper dolls to stun and hold your opponents. maybe even have the single target holds be big red and yellow sutra papers you toss and slam on your targets foreheads. maybe a bit too city of manga there, plus im mixing geomancers with exorcists with the sutra thing, but dang i'd play one

and what the heck, im going tos econd golden's hair control. have you ever played guilty gear? the character milla rage has a wide variety of hair based attacks, and while the animatiosn would again be as improbable as the tail thing, it would look cool.

and finally, water anything, not going to happen here or at the ex-es, too nasty on rendering, understood . oh and grappling, so far nobody can really set this up fully, so not holding my breath for that, maybe blade and soul? maybe not.
  4. tribalism is a standard factor of online gaming. My general take is that people who have to go around putting their competitors down apparently feel that the quality of the game they play isnt sufficient to make the case for playing it over this one. or they are teen-aged males, that usually is pretty much an automatic (you know perfectly well)-head card, and it was when i was one too. basically there is no real limit for how much people will act like morons online, given that they cant have the sense beaten into them for their stupidity, /ignore them(to my knowledge all online games have a variation of this function) and be gone, you are missing nothing.

both would be nice. some people dont do tf's, due to time commitment, dislike of forming pugs or lack of a large social structure, or weaker computer that cant run 8 effect crazy players, the shard is a vast area of unused potential, which is why i was somewhat sad to see war witch reiterating posi's "we'd rather do new zones than revamp" idea in the q&a setup, it throws aside the fact that the player base isnt dense enough to support 40 zones, and it ignores that maybe a lot of earlier content had some great ideas that could be far more fully realized with the lessons of the intervening 6 years.

actually, as a goof, i duplicated every race you can find here here, if ya want blood elves, coh can do blood elves, but strangely not taurens. but yeah, wow is a solid game, so it doesnt scare people off, tons of paid and unpaid advertising from places like the print gaming mags and g4, and blizzard's good name helped. plus asia, blizz has a strong name there, whereas western comic heroes dont do as well lin the land of manga anime and their korean and chinese variants. though i would mention you can certainly make anime based characters here.

While not exaclty what you were asking for, these kinds of awards are free advertising for readers of those mags. not only are they reminded that coh still is around, but that it is still winning awards, even against a game that many seemed to think would be its successor. a page ad is nice, but i can see the benefits of getting the game's quality blurted by the fans, and not a marketing slogan. anyone can claim to be awesome, it helps to be called it.

  10. finally getting around to publishing my 2 ae stories, playing my dual pistols corrupter, and io'ing out my second string characters, pretty much going at it gradually.
  11. its been a while since the thread, so my memory might be hazy , but that was just how people recognized that it was the male mesh, because the proportion issues. like i said, it would be better to make a whole newmuscular female from scratch, look at some of the competitive female bodybuilders and see how they look, a good version of one would work for a lot of my athletic female characters.

pretty sure it is, somone posted about this during another talk on muscular females, the arm textures apparently mesh poorly because of the proportion issues, but yeah, thats the male muscular texture. Id prefer if they do muscular female(and i have nagged about it for years) they make it look more like some current female bodybuilders, the abs would look different.

When I team using him, I tend to forget about the personal bubbles most of the time. Yet, the team hardly notices. Probably because Chaos, Mayhem, and Pandemonium are running around taking a lot of the aggro from the other squishies. Yes, I named the Phantom Army.

Would I be kicked from some of the previous posters' teams because I wasn't using my bubbles on them? Most likely, I would. Their loss, I say.
but you HAVE the bubbles. if asked, would you apply them? if so, then you would be a significantly different case than the character in question, if not, then it depends how much your pa was doing. consider that the defender was unlikely to be contributing much damage with her blasts as you were with them. is common courtesy really that difficult to understand?

    Vanguard Stuff

it is cool, but there is no need for it to take long. go to your server subforum and see when they schedule a mothership raid, or if its inconvenient to you, see if you can get the leaders to do a different day once or twice for you. the merits rain down like mad during those, and its not unusual to get 3-4 hundred or more during a good raid, but check it out, and see if the process can be faster for you. if you are on liberty, they tend to be sunday at 9, but check the stickied thread for the exact time.
  16. well mech, id say its slightly unfair to call all plers lazy. While i dont do it myself, the importance of having a full leveled character with the slots for set bonuses and accolades does appear important to pvpers, its simply a different set of requirements, and for them to get a guy ready to play, leveling is little more than a starting barrier, so as i said, i can entirely see the point for that. while we cant and shouldnt sell io's or accolades, i can see removing the leveling barrier, for a price.
  17. I'd never use it, but i can see the application for pvpers, and lets be honest. if the objection is "people arent playing through the game to get to 50" they arent now either, they are powerleveling and exploiting and whatevering to get to 50 at present, id say giving those who want the extra option ends the pointless game of cat and mouse(for some) that exists now between the devs and plers, and ends with the game having that much more revenue. so While it would be pointless for me, if a few pvpers want to drop cash to support development of my pve stuff, i feel it would be rude to decline . The question would be, is it a cost effective measure? would it cost more in coding a way to do this than they would be expected to get back for the effort.

edit: did fleeting just call us butt hats?

But then I remember how often I see threads like this.

I'm still relatively new to the game and by far most used to tankers and scrappers.. So I don't know how every different build should be played to maximize it's benefit, I don't know the INS and outs and all the slang and tactics etc etc etc... And since threads like this make me so reluctant to team, well I guess I'll never learn them either.

Team leaders can kick whoever they want, they get that power for running the team. They can have public arguments about it in game and then take it to the boards later - why not? I have no real problem with any of it...

Just, you know, don't be complaining later on down the line about it being hard to find or make teams. There would be at least one more person to join up on occasion if it wasn't so high stress and likely to lead to being kicked and made the subject of public ridicule... Sure, maybe the name wasn't used here but since it was public in game for a while I would guess one could find out if they cared... *shrug*

Anyway, like I said, I have no problem with the OP's actions per se... Just understand that some of those turning down offers to join a team are doing so at least in part because they don't want to be the subject of your next post.
I Wouldn't worry that much about it. most players arent that specific, unless it is a master run, and people specify when making them. but as someone who has played this game for a long time, this has never happened to me, and the closest was when i was turned down once for not having a specific build, that is once in over 5 years. so if you feel like teaming, just get a little feel for the team first, you will have a better idea if its going to be a bulld centric group or a lets just play group.

I have noticed on less populated servers, the priority is getting bodies on the team, not purples. So dont worry, just try if the desire hits you. The only caveat is, be considerate, try to consider how to be at least useful on the team with what you have, speed boost is nuts, it starts too many fights for my preference. but if you have an empath and have fortify, or a buff class with applied shields..just be considerate.

well, its sad to see you go, but your phrasing of it makes it sound like a career improvement, so that is to be celebrated. have fun, and leave the stress pills and nerf gun in the desk for the next unsuspecting victim.

Yes, I read his post, the fact stands that your post did not specify whether you were discussing servers or locations, it merely said "stop your us whining" now if you would like to write more clearly, I'm sure everyone would appreciate it, but until then, not translating broken English is not really a knock on the reader. comprehension is for the comprehensible.

ok, i'm normally more tolerant about cluelessness, but you did read in his freaking location that he is Australian, right? pointless sweeping nationalistic generalizations only make a poster look stupid.

that said, if she wasn't pulling her weight, i'd have made a note of her , but a team should be able to absorb one useless player. and if she was actually making it work, I'd have appreciated a unique take on the powerset.
  22. My take is, mmos just dont sequel well, and sequeling a mmo that has a number of characters whoa re REALLY attached to their unique characters, it approaches madness.

    Redside Heroics

yeah, most of my vills are closer to anti-villains, though always flawed enough to jsutify the nastiness of some of the contact missions. My main, violet tendencies is a resident of the rogue isles who grew up poor, saw how the poor were treated, and basically became a robin-hood style cat burgler, and after crey turned her into a human with devouring earth plant control abilities, well, she still robs from the rich and gives to the forgotten, but now does it in the big leagues. she doesnt kill, as part of her religious beleifs, and works with heroes, but her people are in the isles, and switching would elave them unprotected, so its her place. plus the longbow really cheese her off. killing you know who in the end of the destined one arc caused her to go into a near breakdown and only fighting hero one and seeing his glimpse of humanity got her to snap out of it and keep fighting the good fight.

as for dire worg, he is a hero in exile, having lost a hostage during a early rescue mission because he was showboating, he's a bit unhinged, but only fights villains, seeing himself as a kind of a hunter among prey in the rogue isles, he smashes the cancer at its source, and if longbow get in the way, they have the mediporters, and the beating will toughen them up. as mentioned, he is bat-nuts crazy, and somewhat emo, but his goal is still heroic, even if his methods would make the punisher slightly ill.

my other guys are less defined, but only my crab could be actually considered evil(basically, she is paris hilton with a robotic claw backpack and a acute business acumen), most others tend to be symptoms of some form of social breakdown.
