  1. For an entry level small energy efficient focused PC the 7770 is fine. However, stuffing a 7770 into a system with an ivy bridge i7 3770 is like sticking Kirkland tires from Costco on a Ferrari.

Don't laugh, one of my friends bought an HP Core i7 PC and it came with that 6450.

Anyways, I'll wait til I see more tangable info.

Sorry, can I vote for neither? Both have weak graphics cards and without knowing more about specific hardware and for how much money, I can't give an accurate answer.

Nah, they making changes in how rewards are going to be handed out in DA. That's where the farm is.

If MMs were better farmers than /fire brutes, AE in AP on Freedom server would be full of them. The only time MMs were the best AE farmers was when the level 1 MM bug existed where you could be a level 1 MM but your pets were level 48. The mission was full of level 5 GMs and people were going from level 1 to 50 in an hour or two. I think the day before the patch to fix this I saw 6 RWZ. Yes, there were that many players trying use the exploit.
  4. I'd rather they just phase out Shards. Which is too bad because I liked the way the Alpha slot worked.

Oh yeah, its a total gamechanger* for many powers. IMHO

*That is if you prefer KD to KB.

I can see this IO selling for lots.

I agree, finally I can turn some awful powers into pure gems by simply changing KB to KD.

For anyone wondering, this post has been heavily edited multiple times before hitting Submit Reply. The first 4 versions were much harsher.

Those versions also would have required moderator action.

When people purposely make responses like that because they know it will bait me into responding, they get what they get.
I know the feeling TJ, I hated the Kane Halloween event with the "forced" 4 player teams. I can't count how many times I would get a "player" who would just doorsit on that event.

I would prefer that the devs refrain from this "forced" team event model and give us more choice. YMMV

The hardware activation isn't THAT sensitive. You basically have to swap 3/4ths of the system components to trip it, and if you do, you simply call the activation line and tell them your CPU and motherboard died in a freak lightning storm and you've replaced them. It's STILL the same machine.

As long as you're not going:

    Install: Activate

6 weeks later: New system, install, reactivate

6 weeks later: New system, install, reactivate

6 weeks later: New system, install, reactivate

THOSE kinds of things they track.

Also, one thing you can spend money on, OTHER than a craptastic old copy of XP, or the full retail Win7? A copy of Acronis True Image.

Once you have your system installed, patched, and just the way you like it, THEN register it. THEN IMAGE IT.

Instead of needing to take 4-8-hours to reinstall everything AGAIN if you blow a drive, you simply mount the new drive, fire up Acronis and drop the original image back onto the system in an hour or two. Then just patch it to current, reimage it, and keep truckin'.

And no pesky reactivation to worry about.

Sorry if you find what I'm about to say offensive. But the way you're looking to go about this is the most painful, expensive and bass-ackwards method available to you.

    Best post on the subject.

    Thank You!
  10. Add me to the hate zone events side.

I'd rather the devs use dev time to fix bugs and create new shiny powersets than ugh, another zone event.
  11. 1. Pets move too slow
    2. Pets make too many annoying noises
    3. Pet "AI" is a joke
    4. Too much recent content where the correct move is to just speed through mobs and ignore stuff.

You have to look at the set as a whole. 15*1.56 + 5 = ~28%. That is not insignificant. But what else does the set provide for mitigation?

It has strong -Damage, a modest slow, and a weak AoE Fear effect to apply to enemies. Mez protection, weak Psi resists, as well as resistance to slows, to-hit debuffs, and perception debuffs. 2 allies can get a level shift. That's it. The rest is modest offense.

Compare to Rad. Radiation Infection can easily be applying -48% to hit, which is more effective mitigation than Evade even against +3s. That one power also makes it so your team only misses 5% of the time. Other mitigation in Rad includes a modest heal, end drain resistance, mez resistance, modest -damage, a massive AoE slow, a modest AoE Hold effect, and the best AoE hold in the game. If someone dies it can add more to hit and damage debuffs, as well as return the fallen ally to the fight.
RI also has a long animation time and can be prone to being nixed by silly team members who kill the RI target ASAP, KB with Force Bolt, Radial KB the mobs nearby, AS the target etc. Also, on a good team, by the time RI finishes animating, the team is already moving to the next spawn since they already wiped out the current one. All you have to do for Evade is be within 80ft for as you say 28% defense up 100% of the time.

Trickshooter: I did look at the whole set. However, Evade set the early tone that says "This set if OP! Don't mess with me"

Mag 4 mez protect that works on the caster? Buzz.

You lowered the numbers, they are getting closer but still out of line. Defender "bonus" is too high.
  13. It doesn't take a number cruncher to look at the first power Evade and go

So, 15 + 20 stacks of .25 for a grand total of 20% before slotting?

No way in heck is that going to happen when the much loled Force Field is 10% with a much smaller radius and it comes at level 12. I'll point out that this is the level 1 power with an 80ft radius!

It would probably require that the Hyper-Intellect's powers not effect the caster. It probably means losing the caster inclusion with Commanding Shout and Advantage. 40 ft radius is going to be the max.

You should look over the values at City of Data. http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...etype.php?at=3

Based on what is in the game, the numbers look out of line.
  14. We'll see more "Hybrid" drives first.

Certainly server side the mechanical HDs won't go away anytime soon. The consumer market will probably move to SSDs only for lappys and Hybrid drives for Desktops.

Offsite storage for bulk data will eventually be more accepted.
  15. I see my fair share of bad motherboards, it happens.

You did the 3rd "R" and its still flaky. I think you answered your own question.

Start with houtex's suggestion about using a different network card. Sometimes having spare stuff is handy.

The game is quite stable, if there was a serious issue, this part of the forums would be going bonkers.
  16. Go Western Digital.

Of course, we will all be moving to SSDs soon anyways.
  17. I had another idea

Summon trainer: Summon up a trainer for leveling up! There are zones where trainers are just too far away. Sometimes people would like to train during a mission.
  18. Just curious where fellow dominators have been sticking Ascendency of the Dominator ATOs.

It has no damage in it To me, it looks like something that goes into fast single target attacks.

Of course, with i24 changes, I might just hold off on any slotting of ATOs.

    Anybody else?
No. Its so bad even Vlad Guerrero won't swing at it.

Take assault, even with the lower blaster numbers its much more useful teamed or solo.
  20. Then I have no problem with it being 10 as long as there isn't some way for numerous GMs being created. Adamastor ritual? Maybe enough to get Lusca killed for food. Each Tentacle was a GM right?
  21. Have you contacted support?

Well, there is the 3rd R to try. Re-image. Still didn't answer temps or cleaning out laptop. Those are much less drastic than doing a re-image.
  22. Pentium D is a pretty old CPU. 7 years is a long time in the computer world. The Core 2 Duo was a huge leap in performance over the P4 and D CPUs.

That said, you probably need to give us and people trying to help you more info about your connection speeds etc.

Do you have a compaison of gameplay difference with a PC with more modern hardware?

Most of them are on 3-4 hour spawn timers, if they're even up at the time you've got the team together. They -do- despawn if left alone long enough, otherwise they'd all be up together given how infrequently they're killed.

You'd be lucky to pull 90 (Every blueside that spawns in a zone + Seed of Hami) to 130 (Everything, assuming you've got a team of vigilantes/rogues) in a -day- if everything was up the time you've got the team together. You might wait an hour or so and probably get the Seed and Scrapyard up again, maybe hunting the 100 gremlins and Nerva demons for Caleb and Deathsurge. But that's a lot of tedium and a lot of travel time.

I'm just saying, 600/hour is kind of a huge overestimate. Even if they institute a change to make everyone summonable like Adamastor, they'd be put on a 24 hour cooldown for top rewards.
So the monster island and hive/abyss don't count?

Yes, there is some happy safe number and 2 is too low and 10 is too high.
