Too attached to melee now
You want something totally different as a change of pace, roll up a Mastermind.

Whelp after rolling nothing but brutes and a stalker for the past five or six months, I haven't looked back. It's starting to get dull but I love my melee characters too much. Any reccomendations on a...Well, non-melee archetype/powerset? I played a blaster as my main in the past and really liked troller.
Never could make a good corr. |
But at level 50, with some slotting, Fire/Kinetic Controllers are pretty smashy.
I play mine the same way I play my Brutes/Scrappers ^.^ Charge in head first, get aggro, and smash!
If you're looking for more of a support role than a smashy/damage roll, you could always try an Earth/Cold Controller (lots of control, nice buffs/debuffs) or some flavor of Dominator.

Try an Elec/, Fire/, or Ice/ Dom. Depending on the secondary you take you can still get several melee attacks and still play something different from a typical melee toon.

Go for an /Earth Dom. Its a good middle ground between still having an awesome melee toon (That hits like a freaking truck) while easing you back into a more diverse role between controls and possibly debuffs if you go for sleet / ice mastery.
I recommend a staff scrapper! You get a ranged attack and everything. It's transformative.
I'm a big fan of SoAs. Lots of potential in those builds.
I'm particularly fond of crab spiders. You get to blast and have top flight status protection.
Too many alts to list.

I have just started playing an Elec/Psi/Ice dom and you still get the melee experience (I have 1 proper ranged attack which is 2 less than my main scrapper!) but you have to adapt your playstyle significantly and it is a nice change of pace while still keeping that familiarity.
Edit: Though some people probably miss the unkillableness of being a brute or a scrapper more than the playstyle, so you could try an MM or a VEAT, both of which can still let you concentrate on killing while just relying on the fact you won't die.
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!
Plant/psi dom. Do it.
Crab Spider or Fortunata for super-safe non-melee
Rad/Traps or Traps/Rad for melee friendly fun
Fire Control/Time, Ice Control/Time or Elec Control/Time for more melee madness
Sonic Resonance or Force Field if you just really want that mez protection

Doms looking pretty nice. Perhaps Fire/Earth. I have definitely wanted to try Plant/Psi Dom for awhile, though. The toon I have in mind is a villain whos being put on parole and forced to do hero stuff : P.

Someone say something funny.
That'll do, pig. That'll do.
Dominators are the way to go if you wanna still get some good melee in. As suggested above /stone assault is a monster SMASH secondary for doms... I've had real good synergy with Elec/Stone. The end return and mass mezzing of Elec keeps Stone Assault filled with blue to smash at your leisure. Thick mobs are the trick... Get in deep to SAP the end, keep them snoozing and bouncing until they are pulsing grease smears under your boot.
You can also try a Blapper... /energy or /fire make a damn good secondary for in the thick of it tussling.

*yeah, I quoted myself.
If you're burned out on melee, I'm not sure I'd recommend a dom at all. Am saying this as someone currently burned out on melee myself, you understand. I tried the dom alternative, and just got two doms to 50 a few weeks ago. Have barely touched them since.
I'd suggest just trying something really different for a change of pace Just remember that, unlike scrappers, many AT's can start out seeming really wimpy - they don't do a whole lot of damage, and they feel too fragile. This may have nothing at all to do with how they end up.
Controllers and corruptors are like that. I don't know how others regard theirs, but at 50, mine tend to scoff at the term "support" - I maintain that mine vary from "really wicked" to "beastly".
My favorite (mostly) non-melee powersets are: earth/rad, illusion/rad (troller); fire or archery/energy (blaster); fire/dark, fire/traps corruptor; earth/fire (dominator) and fortunata/night widow (SoA).
Good luck and have fun!
If you want something safe, Elec/Dark/Ice Dom or Elec/Dark/Mu Troller, they both work best in melee.
Dom does more damage and has enough survivability to handle +4/8
Troller is a friggin tank, with softcapped positionals and hard capped s/l resist, can tank 4/8 but expect slower killing speed.
If you want something a lot more exciting, fire/elec blaster. Get in there and punch stuff in the face!

Fire/earth dom is at least amusing, if you don't mind insane end usage, you can have hot feet and mud pots.

V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster

Also try Elec/Earth...it's amazing like Elec/Psi and your END worries will vanish!

I've never heard of anyone taking Fire/ and skipping Fire Cages. It's designed to go with Flashfire + Hot Feet.
...but yeah I agree, stick with a dominator if you are burnt on melee - I've been going the mastermind route since I have several 50 doms though, because I too got burnt out on melee - never even picked up staff.

Well for what its worth I am having an absolute gas on my Fire/Dark Corruptor :P
I'm not so much addicted to melee characters as I am addicted to status effect protection.
I develop a dangerous eye twitch if holds and sleeps and such start happening to me.
