  1. My wife and I could duo a Posi in about 90 minutes on average. She would stay at Posi or run around doing house work and she would join in toward the end. I used a fire/energy blaster and she had a plant/rad troller I think this was the best combo going before the newest change.

We tried it recently with my fire/energy blaster and her fire/kin and it was a little faster on my part but I think a plant/kin would be better seeds is just that good helping the mobs die faster.

If you’re looking to max merits it helps to just pick a TF or flashback arc and use a second build to max out the best slotting. That can get boring so we just choose good arcs we haven’t done and run through them as well.
  2. Go for S/L defense I have my brute soft capped for S/L and the survivability is much better. Should be easier and cheaper for a tank.

Along with that I am about 18 for ranged defense that helps out a bit. I also went with as much +hp and regen as I could squeeze in. Probably my most money ever spent on a character but its my main one.

    Elec/Shields

Worry about soft capping your defense first. I have an elec/shield scrapper that is soft capped to all positions except for only 43 for AOE and the survivability is greatly increased. It’s not that hard to softcap with weave, combat jump and some IO sets.

You will need to 6 slot some powers like Buildup and your attacks to get the positional bonus. I also have combat jumping slotted with a Zepher set. You will have to make use of epic sets to help out and may have to take the immobilize power for Enfeebled Operation bonus.

Don’t worry about purple sets until after you are soft capped. To get your recharge up there you can slot 5 LOTG recharges in your 5 defense powers. This will also help out because you can also 3 slot each of them with a LOTG def and a LOTG def/end for hp and regen bonus, if you have extra slots.

With Hasten up I have both lightning rod and shield charge recharge around 25 sec. Sometimes faster if force feedback proc fires off, slot it in Thuderstrike, and finish that power with 5 slots of Sciroccos for AOE set bonus.
  4. I think there may have been a bug with procs in Lightning Rod at one point it may be fixed. I have had the force feedback in Thunder Strike on my electric brute for awhile now and love it. Works great there because your usually using Thunder Strike after Lightning Rod or Shield charge anyway so it will help those 2 powers recharge faster.
  5. Here are some tips that I haven’t seen so far.

    1. If you don’t mind waiting to get history, exploration, defeat badges then do them after you have a fast travel power or higher level. If your badger doesn’t have room for a travel power in there build then make use of a second solo badge build. My stone tank badger has a second build with super speed, super jump, flight, and extra attacks like hurl to badge faster.

    2. Keep a list of TF’s and badges that you need and just watch the badge, TF channels so you can see what you need at a moment’s notice.

    3. If you need a defeat badge then wait till the holiday events and work on trick or treat or gifts at the same time as the defeats in whatever zone they spawn in.

    4. On the market sales badges, just buy a bunch of low level Salvage in groups of 10 for a low price and then just flood the market with them for 1 apiece. Fill all your market slots and check back later.

    5. Volunteer to be your SG’s crafter, let anyone know if they bring you the salvage and set recipe that you will craft for free. Also you can just stock up the base with low end recipes for you SG.
  6. I have played almost every melee set there is and here are my picks. I won’t be including epic/patron because it will be the same blue side fire and red side Mu.
For damage over time my spines/fire was the best but it did not have the big AOE hitters as other sets.

For highest damage AOE that would be a brute SS/Shield. Once fully slotted and with fury or Fulcrum shift the damage is crazy good. The downside is you have to wait till late game to even get an AOE and have it slotted up.

The next best thing and it’s the best blue side is Elec/Shield. Yes you won’t get Lightning rod and shield charge late game as well, but the set has more AOE’s in it then most sets. Thuderstrike is great, and Chain induction jumps much better now, just make sure you use it early on a boss so he won’t die and it will jump. Jacobs’s ladder gets a bad reputation but it works great at early levels, you just need to line up and use its cone. I like to get some minions between a boss or LT target the Boss and fire off JL if the cone is right I can zap a few then follow up with Sands of Mu to get more in your cone.

    King of AoE?

Just last night I was on a AE farm with my level 41 Fort (I know there was nothing else going on and I wanted to get to 42 to respec, and change out some IO's)

The brutes were pulling large mobs, and with all my AOE's I was loving it. I had a few deaths and had a tell from a Corrupter say "try not using so many AOE's for agro"

    My reply back " I have 10 attacks/holds and 7 are AOE's lol"

I do love AOE characters alot more, one of my personal favorites is my AR/Nrg/munitions blaster. With boost range my cones are very wide. Cones aren't to hard on a ranged toon but can be a pain on a melee type.
  9. My main hero is a Stone tank. I do love the feel and look of Granite, my character goes from a short guy to the full size. I also like the feel of being on another team and seeing a granite tank.

What I don't like though is being on a team, mothership raid and seeing more then 1 granite running around.

I trust that you guys will make the new armor look great and could still use the Science pack to hulk up to full size.

One thing that would be a cool option is to give a Halloween custume type power with the Granite armor as it is now to every stone armor powerset, it would be no different then running around looking like a Freakshow tank. That way everyone could have what they want.
  10. I use power sink all the time for agro, mitigation and in turn help build fury. It also works great for jumping into a mob throw off ball lightning for agro, hit power sink for more agro, use aid self (if needed from the alpha) while the mobs are stuck in the end drain animation, then finish with lightning rod.
  11. I know that the last time I went for the flashbacks on both my main badgers with the Benjamin Decker arc it was in the 45-50 range that's because they were both Level 50 at the time the Rikti war zone was overhauled. With any newer characters after that issue they get the flashback from 35-40. I may be wrong but give it a try, it cant hurt.

If not here is a list http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Hero_M...ashback_System

They all look pretty long and have AV's you could always try and get a few teammates and do one that has a good merit reward. If not try Crimsons Operation: World Wide Red I know I soloed that with my tank just to get the GM Kronos Titan to spawn for the badge Master of Olympus
  12. Agree with all above. It doesn't matter what Archtype you are playing.

If you have a defensive armor that gives higher numbers to either typed or positional then go with the higher.

If they are both the same(ie like a controller with just weave then S/L will work better for you)

On almost all my higher level characters that I still play if they are not positional then I try getting as close to the S/L softcap as I can. This even works great for squishes.

Everyone talks about you have to be all purpled out to be great. Try telling that to my controllers and blasters who are at the softcap for S/L (along with some high numbers on energy/ranged or AOE)

I love it when I get so many comments on how tough my squishes are from the rest of the team. I just play them smart and know how and when to agro and let the tank/brute lead except for when they get too slow and its a smaller mob.
  13. Electric will do just fine. I have played my electric brute since they first came out. It's my main and badger. I have tanked plenty of TF's as the only brute or tank as well and that's with aid self. I have even had to step up and take on the main role over a few stone brutes and yes a stone tank once on a ITF.

Yes my brute is all IO'd out, but must veteran players will do that anyway. Even before the IO's I was fine. Yes there are times you may need to watch your health and use a green or 2 but its fine. Plus its nice not haveing to worry about endurance, especially with I16 and being able to drop stamina. I cant wait till I16 hits and I will finally be able to softcap smash/lethal. I ran my new I16 build on test and had no problem solo with 8 man +2 (tried +4 and I could survive, just took to long to take them down)

Electric is not the easiest set in the game. It takes some time getting used to how far you can push it, when to use your mitigation tools as well. I had mine down to a science of when to hit Powersink so the mobs will get caught in the end drain animation giving me just enough time to hit aid self.
  14. I agree with UnicyclePeon

I will add my 2 cents - Why build on ranged defense when you took Earth APP

Well I see you skipped Rock Armor drop Earth Embrace and pick up Rock armor and slot for smashing/lethal defense. Unless you don't like Transfusion but you need to learn as a /kin to get in close to the mobs for fulcrum shift.

Focus on your powers first and only worry about slotting for some cheap and easy IO set bonus if you want.

my Earth/kin is at Level 41 and I have been slotting a few powers for some S/L defense but not overly gimping my build early on.
  15. Looks pretty good. Sad thing is that Hindenburg is right on arctic fog but with going with ice app you have to go with smash/lethal defense over positional.
I would stick with your plan of ice app I have an ice/cold defender and sleet + Ice storm is fun. I wouldn’t worry about snow storm I dropped it on my ice/cold defender – you should have enough slow debuffs to make up for it.

You may want to look into having a different build until you get your APP. This way you can have snow storm in if possible and slot for positional defense early on. It may cost a bit more but you can respect at 42 and save all the positional defense IO’s to use on another toon or sell on the market.

I wouldn’t worry so much as getting to the soft cap, you are close enough. I don’t know why you took boxing and tough without taking weave. Tough is pretty much useless on a controller unless staking with an APP armor or going for weave. You can slot a steadfast +3 in frozen armor or arctic fog. You can probably make up for the IO bonus from boxing elsewhere as well.

Also look into some slots for Infridgidate it is a proc monster. You can turn that power into a good damage source with3 damage procs plus I love extra accuracy in it you really want that power to hit so it can apply its – def and make it easier for your other powers to hit. Plus you can put those damage procs in sleet. May be tough with slots but it’s an option.

Also you could 6 slot fire cages with enfeebled set and get a more usefull bonus then the little extra damage.
  16. My elec/elec brute can’t wait for the new change as well. Mine currently all IO’d out as well with all the good unique and the 3 PVP good uniques as well. Instead of going for recharge I went with more defense, regen, hit points. Sitting at 31 melee, 9 range and 12 AOE. This helped out a lot; in fact I have had so many people comment on how much my electric brute can survive.

The only question I have is why drop power sink. That is a great power not just for plus end, it is great for grabbing agro and draining end. I am able to drain almost anything in the game after a few applications (it may be that I’m electric melee as well and that helps).

I can see that you wanted combat jumping for a luck of the gambler. I just can’t see dropping power sink for some extra recharge when you have so much already. I may change out end mod set for power sink and slot with taunt sets instead for some good bonus.
  17. You can also go for some defense bonus each full set of blood mandate gives you 3.8% ranged and 4.7% AOE. That’s 11.3 % ranged 14.1% AOE if you slot all 3 pets. May not be a lot but if you add in some other IO bonus or other defense powers it can add up. My final build for my necro/poison is around 25% ranged and 30% AOE.

Also try and get the 2 def Io & 2 res IO sets and slot in soul extraction. I’m having to resort from pulling 2 from my higher level MM that I never play.

I may switch out sets for my lich for better debuff and control. I plan on using this character to solo AV’s and GM’s so I will go for a high defense + bodyguard + patron armor + tohit debuffs to survive.
  18. I need both these badges on my villain Badger. Send me a tell anytime if we need another I can grab my wifes toon as well

    @nofx242
  19. I would love to see whips in a new set bot not a MM set.

    Why you may ask?

Well we get to trade in petless pistol MM's since there is a new pistol set for you guessed it petless whip MM's
  20. I would think that we may get some sets ported over to both sides, in preparation for going rouge, and maybe a few new sets.
  21. Atari pulled out of E3 at the last minute as well witch is even bigger in the gaming world.

This is also a big surprise not from CO standpoint but with the new Ghostbusters game just released. They spent a bunch of money with that game and marketing. The funny thing is the reason they gave for backing out of E3 was they wanted to focus on there marketing.

My Stone/Stone tank is near un-killable.

    ----snip----

The only weakness my Stone has is End. Not a big deal but running on some TF’s without a /kin I forget about the rage and hasten crash so I just have to adjust and not use rage or eat more blues.

You have a Stone/Stone with Rage?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry all this talk about stone and I was building my shield/stone tanker must have had stone on my mind.

    I have a stone/SS Tank
  23. My Stone/SS tank is near un-killable. I tank LR solo every time, even have to tell emps to trust me. I don’t even need to use anything extra or pop any inspirations. I have tough (drop stone skin) and weave. I am pretty much def caped to everything except Psi and toxic. I also pretty much caped Resistance as well except psi & toxic.

I have around 83% global recharge and I also have hasten to bump my recharge up even more. I am also at around 2400 Hp and I cap it with Earth Embrace. I also have around 530% regeneration, and about 44% run speed, I usually run around without rooted only needed for AV’s, so I can get around pretty easy.

The only weakness my Stone has is End. Not a big deal but running on some TF’s without a /kin I forget about the rage and hasten crash so I just have to adjust and not use rage or eat more blues.
  24. Yes I have them both on my /elec brute. Now with tough/weave all IO out to get 39 melee def and lots of extra HP/regen I notice lots of extra survivability.

So guess it all helps. Yes I did spend a bunch to do this but still have close to a Billion on her so why not, plus its my badge toon.
  25. I played this in Beta, and it was a great mission. It also had yoga man, and flower child as badguys. I think the main boss in it "told me to sit down and hed play a song on his guitar to make all my problems go away"

Would love to play it again.
