  1. Always try and max out end redux first then some good acc and damage, basically what everyone else said.

Although if you go with cardiac slot then you can get buy with less end redux if you need the set bonus.

This would be if you want to increase energy/negative defense then 3 slot Eradication or if you are trying to increase your negative Resistance then 3 slot Scirocco's Dervish.

I have the above for my stone/ss tank as this helps me soft cap energy/negative defense and almost cap negative Resistance. Just a goal I was working on but its not needed on stone.

Obliteration and the purple set both lack enough end redux unless you only 5 slot with the set and add in the 6th slot as a end redux, or like on my electric brute I can get by with less end redux due to having power sink up fairly often.
  2. I really like Ragnarok chance for knockdown proc in caltrops. It works great but if you don't need the extra mitigation you could leave it out, except it is fun to watch the mobs on them.
  3. So here’s the story of my journey into making and setting up a SS/fire brute for farming.

I never really had a need for money, I made billions back in the day with the market (especially buying up PVP IO’s before the craze and selling them high. Now with so many alts and now people are starting to slot for S/L defense a lot of recipes I use have gone up in price, so I decided to solo ticket farm.

I tried it with my main elec/elec brute this brute is all set up for the max survival that you can probably get on an electric armor brute, still has great recharge. Tried out a +4/x8 boss electric ambush farm and had no problems, just not super blazing speeds and was pretty dull.

So I have rolled up a SS/Fire brute and he’s at 44 now going to get mu. I haven’t been rushing the leveling up doing lots of normal content/tf plus I’m level packed with my wife’s fire/cold corr (ice shields FTW) I have been solo farming to try him out and the results are great.

Even when I just had so’s it can blaze through mobs and is very fun. I’m building mine for a mix of farm/normal play. My final build has me at about 34 S/L defense with still some great recharge. It may not farm as fast as others but I can run outside of fire farms with no problems, especially if I have to fill in as the tank spot on a team. This may change if I ever make a 2nd build.

I will say it has been quite fun playing a ss/fire brute especially running on a ITF last night and just melting mobs at full speed.
  4. Its a great power, don't know why one would pass it up. Helps with mitigation with its end drain, keeps your end full so you can go non stop, lets you get away with under slotting Stamina, and helps keep agro.

You can also slot if with Taunt sets, and get some great set bonus.

My brute has it 4 slotted with Mocking Beratement (to help me softcap S/L) and 2 efficacy
    adaptors (hp bonus)
  5. Best way to do it is post half the zones and let them pick where to go. Then post the second half and repeat.

This lets people who know where to look (or even where the zone is) go there fast and complete it.

Also don't forget you can click on the arrow nest to the team window and see who's in what zone. This way if you see a zone coming up thats not covered then you can just ask who's got that zone or who wants to go there.
  6. The show is ok for me so far. I know it is aimed at kids and doesn't really follow what happened in the actual comic. What really makes me mad is what they did with Robin.

The Robin in the young justice comic was Tim and the way that they portray him on the cartoon is how Tim acts and evens follows how Tim acted in the actual comic. This is why I first liked the show and then to find out the Robin on the cartoon they are calling Dick Grayson.

In the original comic Tim was trying to be a leader, kept his identity secret, was a computer whiz, just how he is on the Cartoon.

Maybe its just me but I am a big fan of Tim Drake and the friendship and love triangle between Superboy and Wondergirl.

Pick up some the trades if you get a chance.
  7. What they said but to add one thing, the effect will only be on you.

I saw plenty of them being organized on the channels last night.

Those of use who want to play some lowbies really appreciate getting a tf/sf where they can take their toons for some xp.
I couldn't agree more - not too mention the extra Merits (100 merits total +(40 Million) = 2 A merits = anything you want except purples and PVP IO's)
  9. Build looks good, since you don't have the Ragnarok set yet heres one thing you could change and that is putting the Ragnarok chance for knockdown proc in Dark Oblit.

I have it on 2 of my brutes and my tank and it is pretty nice when it goes off pretty much all the time. The extra mitigation might not be needed but it works great on builds where you aren't slotting for extra defense. Its very fun paired up with footstomp, especially if you solo farm at +8 and pull mobs together.

on a side note its a great proc to put in caltrops if you have it on anybody.
  10. I will just add my 2 cents to what everyone else said.

The Hami can be hard but just get a good mix and its simple, you can just rush it and power your way through. Master run is much harder since you need to take it a little slower and run out if you start taking damage.

Make sure you have a jetpack or flight and it has some time on it makes fighting Mitos easier.

I have always pulled the Rikti into the goo and they do help damage the Mitos some.

Also if your looking for drops/xp and its a speed run - try and get some people to stay and have the leader just quit and don't call it in (repeat with whoever is next till it lands on someone who's staying)

There are a ton of Rikti in the last mission especially in the last room alone.
  11. I goto a weekly comic trivia at a local bar every week and we have had this question before.

The first black superhero is Black panther

the first African American superhero was Falcon

I looked it up online and that is what I found.

Now there is probably a chance that there where some before them two but they may not take into account some of the smaller companies.
  12. I really want traps for controllers - I would make a illusion/traps right away

Next i would love Fire for Stalkers - Who wouldn't love Fire sword circle from hide?
  13. I just started up a KM/Nrg sitting around level 22 till after double xp

I agree with most on here. Heres my take though on 1 thing.

Take Energy Protection as soon as you can fit it in. I took it at Level 20 its actually a good power now for one thing and thats a Steadfast +3 Defense IO. I took it before CJ since I can get more defense out of it. Also you can slot whatever level you want in it for now since the +3 is what you are going for so by a lower level one for cheap.
  14. Sounds like you want range damage and using a weapon.

    Options

Keep the same toon, respec and pick up Mace Mastery patron armor, combat jumping, tough and weave then add in some Io's to softcap S/L and you have a pretty durable blaster.

Reroll as a Defender or Corrupter and pick traps & assault rifle this will increase your survivability way over what you can get as a blaster.

Reroll as a crab spider or if you don't like the spider backpack reroll as a soldier and just pick up the bane powers but none of the mace ones, you will still have your gun attacks.
  15. I just started up a Traps/Sonic at 24 now and in love with it. Haven't played him solo but been running on teams and mowing down mobs. Its great to run in drop traps hop back out and blast. I have the cone attack recharging fast to help beef up the damage on the team.

I don't have to worry about mobs running away due to my holds and theres usually a troller on the team keep them in place. The single targets are nice to help debuff boss's, the damage output isn't a big deal to me since I'm on a defender anyway, I just know that I can survive and keep the team alive and can whittle down mobs if I need too.
  16. Since the OP is a ill/cold I would go with Mace Mastery

    why you ask?

I have a ill/rad and ice/cold def who both went with mace and love it

if you take tough/weave & combat jumping its very easy to softcap to S/L and energy you also get some decent ranged defense. And you will have a little bit of resistance to a few types as well.

This can help you free up slots and go for plus recharge having perma pa and am on a ill is very nice.

The other 2 big reasons for mace is the extra pet is great but poisonous ray to stack with sleet and infrigidate
  17. I love my aoe characters, my single target ones not so much (except for my ice/cold def, but I don't use my 3 single target attacks much)

I look back at some of the sets I stopped playing and they are ones like MA, Energy, Dark melee, one of the reasons why I haven't played KM yet.

I think the best course for me to do next time is pair these sets up with shield or even fire so I can grab some extra aoe

    1,100 Club.

My main Lil Bug - brute on freedom is up to 1180. Besides the vet badges and others I cant get, all I have left is the new villain arc, 2 day jobs and 2 day job accolades.
  19. All of the above sounds good.

Since you like to help the team then trollers/Defenders might be for you

I strongly suggest a Cold/Ice defender - lots of good powers to help the team that let you blast alot, once you get your sleet/ice storm combo not to mention Blizzard its a blast. You wont have a problem getting on a high level TF either.

2 for when you get GR

Some others crab spiders - Lots of mix of powers to help the team great ranged aoe damage

Electric control is really fun can really help out a team
  20. A Blaster or Dom would work great will a Ill/rad, especially one with some good AOE's. You would have pa to take the alpha, spooky to lock mobs up, debuffs to help out, Inviability to help to get close for your attacks and a heal to ease the pain away.
  21. if your going to duo you can try what my wife and me do, and that is to write down the next few characters that you want to play and try and pair them up, with the best damage and support combo that can help each other out.

Tanks pair up great with Corruptors to help with the damage.

Then try and match up the tanks armor set with whatever support set would help them out the best.

here are a few but you can always play whatever except for a stone you will want a kin

    Stone - kin
    Dark - kin, cold
    Fire - cold
    electric - cold
    shield - cold, thermal
    Willpower - cold, Thermal
    Ice - Thermal, Sonic
Invulnerability - cold or thermal maybe early on

These are just some options you can always use whatever or play traps, Rad, TA

    Cold vs FF

I would take and play cold over FF. The only reason I would play a FF over cold would be if I was solo over a very small team with no mez protection.

Solo the mez protection/KB would benefit you more then the debuffs would, but then again I would never play a FF or Cold solo anyway.
  23. have you ever rescued Lady Grey in her Vanguard Arc, she has a heal and uses it a lot once the ambush happens.
  24. Yes you can get to the softcap for S/L with a fire tank. I have built one before, and if my /Elec brute can get there then a tank can with higher numbers from weave, CJ.

Is it worth getting to the softcap on a fire tank, yes very much so but dont gimp on your recharges and other stuff. If you spend the time and money though then you can slot in some high end sets, Io's that can help you reach both goals.

Also the one thing I wanted to point out is if your going for better defense survivability then one great option for tanks now is to pick up the soul mastery PPP.

Gloom and dark obliteration both have a -5.25% to hit debuff on top of gloom doing very good damage its just not all up front damage. Then you have Darkest night with a -13.5% to hit with a -21% damage buff.

Now what makes them even better if going for softcapping Defense is that both gloom and Dark obliteration can be slotted with Siphon insight for 3.75% S/L.

Darkest night you can slot with a lower ens s/l bonus but still helps.

Also 1 last great IO set for S/L defense that people usually forget is Enfeebled Operation for immobilize powers 6 slotted gives you just over 4%.
  25. Did they change Arctic Fog so that it buffs typed defense now? Did not see it mentioned but Mids is showing that it does now.

I'm at work now and cant check in-game, working on my cold fender and going for the softcap on S/L and Energy (thanks Scorpion shield!)
