  1. Here are my thoughts.

You can use the perfect zinger set in Taunt for more S/L and some more regen you only really lose a bit of recharge.

You can also slot taunt sets in power sink, I have mine 4 slotted with mocking beratement and 2 Efficiency Adapter, and it still drains great and helps keep agro.

I also only have Stamina 2 slotted and have no end problems, I do have Cardiac though.

You could probably drop power surge and pick up dark obliteration you will get more use out the power and some great sets to slot in it.

Darkest night is a great power for that extra survivability, or I love it to pull extra mobs over to you.
  2. Spoiler Free

I got to see the movie last night at a sneak peak. I really enjoyed the film, it was on par with Thor and the first Iron Man, much better then Green lantern. I have always been a DC guy and Captain American isn't my favorite hero but I still loved it. I think your non-comic book fans will like the movie a lot as well.

It had a lot of good action and it kept a pretty good pace, a few slow spots but not enough to drag the film down. What really helped to make this move was great acting, I wasn't really sold on Chris Evans but he did a decent job. Tommy Lee Jones (has some great lines) and Hugo are really good, Marvel has done really good with the villains in this movie and Thor, I hope we see Red skull and Loki in Avengers.

It was the 3d version as well and it wasn't too distracting as Green Lantern was. Had some Marvel easter eggs in it and made good use of the Marvel universe.

I don't know if the bonus scene will be after the credits or if it wasn't attached to the sneak peak. We did have a extra scene after the main story and before the credits, but I don't know if there is another or it will be moved to after, I have heard of a few sneak peaks in the past that didn't have the special part attached.
  3. I don't think the proc or the set is that great especially for a melee toon, unless you have a ton of money to throw around.

You shouldn't be coming that close on using up all five 5% recharge bonus, unless you are only building for recharge. Most times it would be better slotting kinetic combat for the S/L defense bonus, unless you are already soft-capped or only going for recharge.

Even then if going for recharge the money would be better spent going for a purple set since higher recharge, acc bonus and fire/cold res are always helpful, even though Pancrea has regen bonus but 10% is very common.

As for the OP who is using Fiery armor unless you are making a pure AE farming build you would be better off spending your money on kinetic combats for S/L defense, if its a AE farming build or don't care about the extra survivability then I would still spend the money/merits on a purple set, PVP +3 Defense IO or use the money on another alt.
  4. I myself would mostly like to see some sets added for some powers we see in comics that are not in the game. While I would love a growth/shrink, stretching, animal shapechange sets I know those would be hard so I wont even list them. I'm just going to list a few that I would like to see that I haven't seen mentioned much, since sets like Streetfighting should be in the game by now.

    1. Animal mimicry - Melee attack and defense sets, no visuals needed except for minor glows and whatnot. Basically attacks would be named after whatever animal power could be combination of claw attacks, punch, floor smash, even some poison attacks. Defense would be the same with some tough hides, a stealth or cheetah speed throw in. The build up power would be a berserk or animal rage power would be like rage but would be a + recharge type power.

    2. Elemental attack and control - This would basically be a combination set of fire, earth, air, water/ice. Could either be powers that cant be user changed or allow you to pick a few different, like rain of fire or ice storm.

    3. Magic attack and control - Would be a better name and I know you can use other sets to pretend to be magic, but I would like to see a set of a combination of flashy powers that feel like doing magic. Could have some energy, fire or other type attacks the controls would look like binds on them.

    .
Its main power would be a play on one of Power Girls quotes "Eyes up here" It would be a disorient, and would have no effect on Robots or Zombies.
  6. Pasiphae your build is almost like mine but a few changes that may help you out. I'm not a big fan of the only KB protection in SS, unless you keep it on all the time, I usually turn mine off after I run in to save end. A KB protection in Combat Jumping only lowers your defense by about .5%.

I also really love the chance for hold proc in Acid mortar and Knockdown proc in Caltrops, but I may plan on moving the Knockdown proc to fireball.

The only other big difference is not slotting up web envelope with a purple set but saving the slots and slotting LOTG + recharge in weave and Scorpion shield.
  7. I'm hopeing that I can make one today.

I think the no deaths badge will be the hardest and have some good on the spot healers and have people shout out when hit. I think I will unlock and slot up rebirth since that will come in better use then barrier for this badge.

Another thing I did last night to speed up where you have to lead AM around is I had Darkest night on him (using my brute) and just flew him around with a occasional taunt and he stuck on me like glue and we had that part done very quickly.

One thing though is its KB protection is a bit strange, mine still gets knocked around with higher av's, and also watch out for being on stairs and slopes, or if using Lightning rod after you land to the new spot you can sometimes be knocked around.

Just this past weekend I was getting some Knockback from LR, but its rare and may have just been something goofy.
  9. This looks good so far.

1 question - The signature story arcs are they solo or team missions(both my wife and me will be subscribed so wont matter much)

1 comment - the respec prices could be lower that way you sell more. I can see alot of newer players using respces left and right at $10 they may not, at $5 I think you would sell more.

Hope you have lots of new stuff since i have all the other boosters and the like so far, I will need to spend my points somewhere.
  10. No the master scheme is to just get more players to try the game out.

Most non-gamers are scared or don't even know what a MMORPG game is but there are a ton of casual gamers who will play or even try out a Facebook game. Most games on Facebook are free to play with you paying money for perks or items.

All they need to do now is get a advertisement on Facebook for free to play, along with the new fast download part and people can get to the costume creator which can be big selling point for COH.

Once there if they make a easy new tutorial to help non gaming people figure out the ease of the game, give them access to figure it out, then we may get some new players.

Yes some may never stick around or spend money, but as you can see with some Facebook games they can make some good cash this way. I don't care if its some soccer mom somewhere who just wants to spend cash on some costume as long as it keeps the game going I am all for it. I am always open to help new players who want to listen and learn, if not there is always ignore.
  11. I got to see it last night and it was ok. I am a big DC and GL fan but still it was ok. What makes GL great is the GL Corps and all the supporting aliens.

The movie focused more on Hal and his relationships, which is ok, but took over the movie. They should have toned this down and made the movie shorter or added that to provide more about the rest of the Corps. I can see why they did it because sci-fy dosen't apeal to a lot of people, and they wanted the star to get more screentime.

If you look at Thor another comic that has a big supporting cast and has a sci-fy element they got it right.

I dont think it will be as big as DC hoped, maybe thats good for us DC fans as this may help crash their big reboot plans.
  12. I like alternate stories in comics, especially DC. I read that after 52 they where planing on doing a monthly comic featuring each of the "newly" 52 universes, but guess that fell through.

A alternate gender universe would be cool, though about ding a AE arc with that in mind, but I'm not the most creative writer.
  13. I have to agree this season every show has been down. There have been a few standout episodes though this season a few being on Community and Parks and Rec. Even staple shows like NCIS, CSI, Criminal Minds, Chuck, Office, Big Bang have been lackluster.

I think the problem is that the networks expect a hit with new shows as soon as possible, there is much more programs for people to watch, and the networks want to stick to the same old format and don't want to change.

One thing they could try is having short seasons for shows, this would mirror out cable shows that can have 13 good quality shows, instead of dragging out story arcs.

The other method is rerunning shows like crazy, I know we all hate reruns but look at some of the cable shows they rerun a show like crazy but still get plenty of viewers for the new show. When you rerun a show or a marathon of that show you tend to get new viewers hooked. Look at NCIS it was never a big rating hit until it was reran on USA like crazy.

The big networks should try to maybe run there shows on there sister cable networks sooner then they do now to help increase new viewers.

I really look at NBC as being really stupid with this they have sister networks like USA, Bravo, SyFy, and G4 among others. How many shows did they have that would benefit greatly by rerunning on these networks and they never did. Look at chuck, community, Parks and Rec what really makes the show stand out is the chemistry that the characters have and that takes time, a new viewer just watching it for the first time wont see that, but lets say that same viewer is channel surfing and comes across a bunch of back to back shows then they may become a loyal viewer.

They are to set in trying to find a hit, get it to a 100 episodes so they then can sell it off in syndication.
  14. AR?traps sounds good on paper but traps works best with being in melee and dose not mix well with the cones on AR.

/cold /storm and /dark would work good with AR. I think dark would be a great fit since fearsome stare in dark is a cone it will mix well with AR's 3 cones. You also have tarpatch and fearsome stare to keep them in place for ignite and keep them from running at you.
  15. I have a traps/sonic defender and really like it. Mainly single target but I wanted to make a true AV killer and the -res from sonic is what I was going for.

Dark would be nice for more control with tentacles and dark pits stun to stack with seekers.

Ice has good single target and 2 aoe's but ice storm will scatter them a bit and I never really liked frost breath.

One you may want to try is Assault Rifle I really like the set on my blaster, has more Aoe's then the other ranged sets as well - 3 cones (I count full auto because no end drain) - and 2 targeted aoe's. Ignite is very nice although I dont know if it still has a fear part, but it is very nice on Caltrops, web nade and any that are held by Poison Gas trap or hold procs.

Archery would be fun as well can run in lay your traps and launch Rain of Arrows without jumping back out
  16. Achievement: Having my stone tank as uber as you can get, using him on many successful master runs, tanking LR without support pre incarnate powers, you get the ideal.

(Dis)Achievement: Using my stone tank on a MoLGTF on the last mission and being the only one with tp I figured I would run to the end with Superspeed and a stealth IO and tp all to the AV's. Forgetting about the lack of mez/KB protection while doing this, as I watched my tank get knocked back repediatly and held and could not hit a BF or do anything for that matter.
  17. Reactive radial is the way to go if you have a damage aura for sure.

My main elec/elec is loving it you can just jump in a mob and just with your damage aura watch the extra ticks of damage form the fire proc, and its very easy to see it fire off.

For sets that are mainly aoe then this should help out when trying to whittle boss's down.
  18. I don’t see what the big deal is, and I can’t understand his and a few others problem with I20 trials. Besides the random drop and confusing reward system for some that’s about it.
I have been playing for 5 years on Freedom (the so called bad server) and team up with random PUG’s all the time. Yes I have ran into a few bad apples but that’s what the notes are for to stay away from them. Most of the bad players just need to learn, it’s only the random jerks or a few bad leaders who lead my way or highway. The funny thing is I have played on other servers and that’s who I run into on them Mr. Elitist.

This is a player based game based on comic books who have superhero team ups all the time. It’s not hard to form your own team for the I20 trials, especially if you already have a few friends on the team, just recruit more and give out simple instructions and its pretty easy going. I lead a few random PUG’s so far with the new trials and haven’t had any issues.

I have only failed about 4-5 trials so far all the first 1-2 days. After that it’s been easy, I even joined a random qued up Pug the first day none us had any clue, but we almost made it and had fun and still got rewards.

There are a bunch of great SG’s out there that you can partner up with. You will also find a bunch of leaders who form teams join up with them and stay with them if you like there style. If you do land on a team with a leader or teammates that you don’t enjoy, who cares knock it out get your rewards and move on.

The only problem I have is for those that can’t play when enough people are on or have some other reason they play solo and not because they are antisocial.
  19. I play on freedom as well and I only failed each about 2 times the first night, after that I have ran it a ton of times and haven't failed.

I have even ran master runs on the BAF several times, I think I also had about 6 runs in a row letting none escape.

The only thing so far thats been hard is trying to convince league leaders to not have only 1 team on the ambush. They need to have 2 from each team on the ambush, that way each team gets xp and drops.

To the OP just come to pocket D broadcast your looking or ask for a invite when they are filling a team. Just listen to the leader or just follow everyone else.

    I20

Hope I can make it on Friday night thats my usual team up night with some other friends. We are all badge oriented, but a few don't play as much so I know they will need some time to run them and unlock the tiers. If there is room though and I hear you broadcast and you have enough slots we will help out.

Any other time I will help out. I have ran a few successful ones so far and have 2 of the master badges without even trying.

Where are you going to be forming up, pocket D?
  21. It is harder but overtime it will be better. Out of 6 tries 1 success last night and 2 all most close and 3 had the quit out bug.

I was able to unlock the Judgement slot and able to craft and slot it as well.

I didn't have as much trouble as some - I was on my io'd out elec/elec Brute but I did have some deaths usually from taking the only agro and getting held.

Dont forget there is a hospital in zone and a nurse selling Inspirations right there so stock up, and not just purples - Oranges are great to help out if your not capped to Energy.
  22. Any combo is fun but since you want to do some crazy high end TF duoing then what you have listed will be good.

You basically want good damage, good debuff, agro magnet, good end management or end recovery.

The other options is to go SS as primary for the brute for obvious reasons.

Or maybe Ill/cold troller to have PA as a option for agro while your brute can focus on damage on towers like on a STF. Ice/cold Corr may work better as well for better single target, and more slows and a hold to help out.

My wife and me are playing a SS/Fire brute and Fire/Cold Corr combo right now, we don't plan on Duoing TF's but it has been a blast so far. Only big issue is Fire Corr having some end problems early on.
  23. You can count me in for anything badge related, on my main Lil Bug.
  24. Trying to get to the softcap on a fire or electric that have no defensive powers in their secondary is a bit tricky but can be done, I have my electric/electric brute at the softcap for S/L.

You have to grab as much as the big bonus sets that you can and looks like you have done that. The only way you could get there is to try and take haymaker and slot it with kinetic combat. Or 4 slot knockout blow with Kinetic combat and 1 more slot of another set to cap out the damage/acc/end, you lose a purple set but might have to sacrifice.

Other options would be to take taunt and 6 slot it for the bonus. You could also try and slot tough with a reactive armor set, maybe pick up temperature protection over rise of the phoenix and move your steadfast there.

You could free up some slots in rage since you are only getting a 1.25% for 6 slotting and 2 slotting Rectified Reticle will give you 1.875% (its pricy set but by the looks of your build you have the cash I would hope)

I know you took the stealth set so you could slot 3 LOTG + recharge, but you could get the leadership pool and have maneuvers over stealth (def bonus won’t change when fighting) then can have vengeance for another LOTG, or just have maneuvers and pick up other powers.

The last option is going soul mastery for your epic. It is the best epic set available to brutes to help with defense in the way of the –tohit buffs especially with darkest night. The aoe isn’t as strong but gloom is pretty big for single target (but you’re not lacking there with ss) the 2 attacks have a good bonus set with Siphon Insight (loose on damage but it’s an option.) I really like soul mastery helps out when you are getting defense debuffs thrown at you, and Darkest night is very fun when trying to grab extra agro from multiple big groups.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideals

But these auras are often great places to put in procs. Lightning Field, for example, takes a chance to stun proc. If nothing else you can find a damage proc to put into the power, making it just a little more deadly. So you may as well six-slot the power and throw a proc in the sixth slot.

If you're going to put in an IO set, I personally prefer Obliteration for its bonuses, or Scirocco's Dervish if you want a set that's cheap.
Lightning field cannot take a chance for stun proc, and I would never go with just 1 endurance reduction on a build.
