So why are they clickable at all?

    [/ QUOTE ]

One speculation. Something I do in bases with a large hall of TPers, especially arcane ones, with beacons lining the opposing walls, is to mouse-over/click each on in sequence down the hall to see which beacon it is, in order to more quickly find the destination I want. If they were not clickable, I'm not sure I could get their names quite as easily. This is especially useful for the arcane ones, which are visually very hard to differentiate one from the other.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The custom "targetfriendnext" command lets me cycle through them with the repeated press of a key. Same method but easier for me.

Very nice, Doug. I have always been a fan of your work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So give him a job designing a new CoH splash screen!

Its time to update that pic and hiring a "contractor" means you wouldn't have to bother the art people.
  3. Ok, this is no fewer than five kinds of awesome.

Ya know the best part? People are reading sooooo deeply into it

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah! And to think all this happened because Superboy punched a wall!
  5. One of badge-hunter.com's proprietors, Beefcake, is featured in the latest COH comic.

Explanation avoiding spoilers: he helps Positron who offers an enhancement as a reward. He asks for a badge instead.

What a great way to honor someone who has done a lot for the badgehunters among us.

    Kudos Devs/Comic creators!

    I did.

    LIAR! It was me!
  7. This is amazing work!

The devs should link to this on the main page. Brilliant!

    "Moral Combat"

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm extremely disappointed that an image of Statesman would be used in such a way. I know that we designed City of Heroes to appeal to "children of all ages." My proudest accomplishment with the game is that many parents (including my brother) play with their children...sharing, I hope, the same joy for the comic book world that I've had ever since I was 8. I cannot express the shock that I felt seeing that a character created by Cryptic would be used in the same sentence as Columbine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sue them! We're completely behind you on this one!
  9. Like many before me I chose the storyline.

Like many before me I hate that the game makes you work so hard to discover it.

The costume creator is a close second.
  10. Cuppa, you are this community and your leaving ends an era. I wish you much happiness in your new position. I'd wish you success too, but with your skills thats a given.
  11. I have a suggestion:

We all have seen how congested (read: laggy) Atlas Park can be with City Hall the epicenter of dozens of characters emoting. Those of us with 50's have trecked through this mess for mission only to be bombarded with tells begging for influence and or PL'ing.

Conversely, Galaxy City is usually comparitively empty and quiet.

May I suggest we move the entrance to Recluse's Victory to the Data office in Galaxy?

It would drive a little traffic to this underused zone, be gentler on low-end machines, and other-wise be easier on the level 50's who have to travel through the low zone to get there.

Sigh... because the defense changes affect MoG since MoG is you know a defense power. Are we supposed to talk about the defense changes without talking about defensive powers? If so, how does that work?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'll explain how it works.

You test the power, taking care to make quantifiable observations. You post your testing environment and the results of your test.

It seemed pretty obvious from Cricket's instructions that this isnt the forum for conjecture and there are too many factors to MOG's use to make your suspect conclusions viable.

I would like to invite everyone to the test server, once its stable, to try out any and all defensive powers under a variety of testing environments. I'm far more interested in making MOG and all defensive powers the best they can be, but threads like this one has turned into arent going to benefit anyone especially the poor man or woman in QC who drew the short straw and now has to read this stuff.

    Lets get back on topic.
  13. From Cricket's introduction:[ QUOTE ]
This thread is solely for discussions regarding the the new defense scaling system. From the Issue 7 Training Room patch notes

All off topic posts will be removed. Please do not post bugs/feedback/balance issues before testing this content.

Note that I added the bold for emphasis.

    From Evil Geko[ QUOTE ]

    1. No I haven't extensively tested this and I couldn't although I will test it. Probabalistic powers like defense are better tested mathematically. If you don't agree please feel free to flame me, but it doesn't change the facts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Honestly, why are we debating MOG instead of testing the defense scaling?

Anyone know if the amount of WL Babies you killed last year (Without getting the badge) counts towards the badge this year? I'd be interested in knowing how close I came on a few of my heroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I believe they do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can confirm this. After killing only three snow-babies I was awarded the badge.
  17. My fiance and I play this and many other games all the time. She's a hard-core gamer through and through, plus she makes a wicked-good cup of coffee. Who could ask for anything more?
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I see. Thanks for letting us know, Gil. Should be a fun set up.

*waits for the nitpickers to start tearing apart Gil's post*

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm surprised there isnt a thread in the CoV forum tearing the CoV fiction apart!

C'mon, Gil. You're slacking if your villianous articles can't generate the hate.

    14. How does CoV overlap with CoH in terms of geography?

Mostly nearby, although we might have surprise or two up our sleeve.

    Do you see it?

Are the Key Binds, correct? I tried, them and get Unknown Command for the Powerexec_name parts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The command is actually "powexec_name" or "powexecname". There's no "r" in it.
  24. Absolutely brilliant!
