You don't buy a product such as this, help it survive, it's actually a profitable situation... and kill it because your OTHER products aren't doing well.

You just... don't. That's stupid.

But they did.

They could sell the IP, servers, software, character database, account database... all of it. They could.

They, apparently, won't.

This isn't like that other MMO where they got hacked, the backups didn't work, and they simply lost everything, ever, never to be seen again. My goodness, I didn't even play it, and that hurt to even hear about.

No, this is deliberate *murder* of a product... for no good reason than 'because'.

And I will never... EVER... so much as support or pay into any thing that has NCSoft on it again.

My sig says it all. They can repent. Otherwise, at the darkening of the great Paragon City, November 30, 2012 is the end of my relationship with **anything** to do with NCSoft. I will never cut NCSoft slack, as long as the status quo remains.

I'm grateful they let us continue till then, and I will grant them that one last bit of humble gratitude. They had no real need to do that either, so for this... slack. But only for this.

Sell the IP. Release the code/data. Hell, just release the servers as they are. Make the right steps... and I can have NCSoft in good graces. Until then, they are, in effect, dead to me as of November 30, 2011, and that's that.

Of the latter two, CoH Helper will put that information in it.

And DO NOT use code. Just plop it directly from the report into the post and post it, individually.

But... yeah, even though you may have the latest drivers, they can still be borked, so it might be worth a try to completely remove them via safe mode, then reinstall them one more time.

This is what I don't get. They could have sold it. They didn't. They could have appeased the player base (who seems to be rather upset at NCSoft now...) and moved the IP to whatever place it needed to go.

But they chose to kill it.

That's the part that I really don't get. Except it is to try to move players to their other shiny, and this player is NOT DOING THAT.

I'm sure I'm not the only one. Nor am I going anywhere else... and on that, I'm not so sure I'm the only one either. I will ride a motorcycle instead, rather than put 8 years (admittedly, here and there hours wise) into a few somethings I rather like a lot only to see them pulled out from under my control... even if they were NCSofts to deal with... they were MINE.

And now they're gonna die.

NCSoft can bite me. Unless they let CoH live somehow. Then I'll be ok with them... mostly.

I mentioned you guys, Wyll, in Pinnbadges last night, as I was wondering how you and the girls were taking it. That thread you started about Sister Flame was just pure win, and we were all the richer for reading it and the updates.

I will never forget the cackling out loud moment when I read about the girls hunting villains in Recluse's Victory with the pillboxes. FUN!

I would normally pick my first 50 Heroine, Ruby Dawn (Mind/Emp). That was major for me back then.

Then again, getting her evil sister Cerise Dawn to 50 as a Mind/Psi Dom was also a pretty large accomplishment. Because the villain base on Pinnacle... wasn't. Oh, there were still people there, just not as much. Harder to do.

Oh, and that was before the Frenning of Doms by a month, so even better.

But... and I know I've been talkin' about him a lot... taking the first 6 months of this year, and rolling a Brawl/WP Brute and taking him up to 50, and soloing the Alpha slot missions...

Heck, just getting him to 50. That final Ding. In DA, against +4 BP mobs, in the northish area from the hospital.

Yeah. That was a Crowning Moment of Awesome.

I've been astray to other servers, but I always came back home.

And the past year, I've not been anywhere else. Y'all put up with Brawling Humiliator and Thing of Bigness being stupid. Which means, me being stupid.

And I thank you all for bein' there to witness the madness. Pinnbadges rocks. YOU guys/gals rock.

For me, I will never, likely, help with a Rikti Ship downing. This could still happen, but... I guess if I didn't do it yet, I wasn't gonna.

I will never get Brawling Humiliator or Thing of Bigness fully Incarnate (even to the current level they could get to)

I finally found a Blaster I liked (water/ice) and... it's not going to get to 50... not the normalish way anyway.

I never did make that Storm powered charcter to where I could just *THROW EVERYTHING AROUND* (cackles manaicly)

I probably wont get to get in every dang TF there is.

And we won't see The Battalion.

I spent this money for the experience I had: Awesomeness defined.

It's just too bad that money is the issue that's causing the Final Boss of the game to truly show up and kill it. Asking for a refund or threatining suit is just being... petulant. I'm sorry I said it because it's a little hurtful now given the circumstances, but there it is.

Be heroic, and accept your investment in what it was: Good at the time. Perhaps Great. Or better.
