What were you excited to see in CoX...
For me, I will never, likely, help with a Rikti Ship downing. This could still happen, but... I guess if I didn't do it yet, I wasn't gonna.
I will never get Brawling Humiliator or Thing of Bigness fully Incarnate (even to the current level they could get to)
I finally found a Blaster I liked (water/ice) and... it's not going to get to 50... not the normalish way anyway.
I never did make that Storm powered charcter to where I could just *THROW EVERYTHING AROUND* (cackles manaicly)
I probably wont get to get in every dang TF there is.
And we won't see The Battalion.
So many other little things. These are the big ones for me.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
1. True, high-speed travel. And cheap! (Free!) And low level! (14!)
And fast, did I mention fast?
No level 40 and saving eight billion dollars to buy a horse that doesn't even go 2x your run speed (and that's run speed without a sprint ability).
And The Old Republic reskinned World of Warcraft so carefully, they basically gave you a $48,000 0.2 horsepower scooter that could, literally, go 1.9x as fast as you run.
The midlevel one at 40-ish was 2.0x. The "high end" one was...wait for it...2.1x.
That's vs. what we would call non-sprint run speed.
2. And the 3D travel -- other games struggle so mightily limiting where you can go because you'll get stuck. Games where you just run around seem so constraining now.
3. Scrapper -- showed you could have a high DPS melee class who wasn't a complete wimp and could do true, high DPS, at least single-target.
Again, compare to The Old Republic, where the non-lightning slinger Jedi who actually used their lightsabers were basically shoehorned into a tank role. Even the "dps" trees of same were a shameful embarrassment compared to the scrapper.
"Hey! You knocked generic cola all over your precious D20 books!"
ED: Now I know how Nancy Kerrigan felt: "Why...?!? Why...?!?"
1) Blasters getting fixed. Stuff in i24 beta's nice, but didn't think the job was quite done. And for that matter....
2) everything coming in i24. The only thing that I wasn't totally in love with was the proc changes (they were good, but I could see a few downsides) and the blaster ATO2 proc (which was more i23.5 than i24 anyway)
3) Finishing out the incarnate tree
and many more things that I'll think of later.
That...was a Herocon 09 exclusive easter egg. The powerset will not have doves associated with it.
Namely because you guys would want to color tint the damn doves, or make them hawks/ravens/flying sharks/etc and that's just a headache I do...not...want...to deal with. |
The Coming Storm will never get to be rebranded as the Finally Here Storm. (PS, you're all screwed)
We'll never see what the Omega slot would've actually been.
I'll never get to play the Beam Rifle/Devices blaster I made specifically for I24 with the changes that would've made her amazing.
Bio Armor will never actually come out, after being in Beta for months and months.
But most importantly to me, as a RPer.... I'll never see where the stories of my characters and my friends' characters actually would've ended.
And now I'm crying again.
[Admin] Emperor Marcus Cole: STOP!
[Admin] Emperor Marcus Cole: WAIT ONE SECOND!
[Admin] Emperor Marcus Cole: WHAT IS A SEAGULL DOING ON MY THRONE!?!?
Originally you weren't allowed to post this, but with how things are going I won't be surprised if you're allowed to post pr0n on the forum now. There is a video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNKgz...6&feature=plcp
That had listings of a bunch of different powersets that were (rumored to be) slated to come out soon, and I was looking forward to them greatly. It is perhaps these that I miss the most.
I mean, the game doesn't seem like it is dying. This whole thing feels like the Paragon Studios Train has abruptly smashed into a mountainside. That Paragon Studios has been blown up from a gas leak, gunned down by a serial killer, and... dare I say... slain by a supervillian. With I24 around the corner with so many updates I looked forward to seeing, with so many future updates in the works and so much stuff to go to, the game wasn't on life support.
Our game was murdered...

I was looking forward to i24 and the return of the Fire/Dev blaster. One of my first 50's was a Fire/Dev in the issue 0 / issue 1 time frame (heh, smoke grenade... tyvm for an "i win" button) and in advance of i24 I had made a new Fire/Dev for the insta-snipe and extended range Blaze. He's currently sitting at level 35, sad as can be. WTF, think I'll log on and play he a bit.
that you'll never get to see?

1) I wanted to see full powerset proliferation. If a toon can choose a melee version, they should get all melee versions. Tank with Regen/Spines? Why not. Scrapper with Ice Melee? Why not.
1.1) Newer APP/EPP? Sure, we have enough powers to choose from, why limit ourselves here to 4 or 5?
1.2) Updated power pools? Sure, why implement new powers inside of them, when there are some powers that are rarely used and could be revamped?
For tanks:
2) I really wanted to see Gauntlet have some kind of benefit other than what it is =P It's practically the only archetype that gains NO BENEFIT from Solo'ing. Even Defenders have a slight edge =P
For Melee Characters:
3) I really wanted to see Ice Melee get updated and overhauled. There's no reason to take it on any character. If a -Damage effect was added to it in addition to -recharge on every attack, and less smashing/lethal damage in the number crunching... I might have taken it. You can apply this same logic to Energy Melee
4) I wanted to see some of the Armors get an update and an overhaul. When I played Stone Armor, I rarely went into Granite Form... because the other armors were so effective. Yep, you read that correctly. I despised granite. If I could change into the Titan from Woodsman TF, I may have played in it.
For all Characters:
5) I really wanted to see a "bonus damage" against different elements effect thing added. For example, a water toon fighting an ice toon should do no damage. A water toon fighting a fire toon should do double damage. There's no way to implement this other than "special" damage, but it would have still been awesome.
6) I wanted to see defenders and blasters get an update to their ranged powers. It's kind of on hold right now... but I was waiting for it since I4. Snipe? Really?
7) There are some powersets that I think could have been implemented better. Devices, anyone?
There's so much on my list here it's ridiculous. I'm going to stop now before I break my spacebar.
What did you really want to see?
