Kool. Thats what i thought, just wanted a 2nd or 3rd opinion. lol.

Toxic resistance? Is it worth slotting the 6th purple for or the 6th of other recipes that offer it?
-
Quote:Thanks for the info. I was at the one on Justice earlier (home server), but i guess it didn't impress.Create an interesting costume and show up at one of the remaining Pocket D parties. If your costume impresses Avatea (or whichever mod shows up) enough you could win the Party Pack and your choice of a costume code. The remaining parties are on Monday, on Freedom, Virtue and Victory at 6, 7 and 8 PM EST, respectively.
For what it's worth, I would give you the KoA code I got from last year's Twitter contest, but it's already applied to my account. Once the code is applied, it can no longer be used, so make sure if someone does give you a code that it actually works before you give them something in exchange.lol.

Id like a Carnie or Knives of Art. code. Can they be given away by the holder? If so, i'd like to purchase one with Inf. Name a price if anyone wants to sell one. Thanks.

Quote:I dont want to get off topic but everyone has their own ideas and likes/dislikes on nerfs. Some are good, some not. My main concern is for the Devs NOT to nerf powers based on IO'd toons. They give us tools to make UBER builds, then cry foul when we do UBER things. If a toon can solo an AV, then i don't see an issue with and AoE that kills minions... Yes SD is a defense power, but so is Burn with 1/3 of the rech.No no no, that would be Ascendant-Os. Warning: If you have never seen it before, do NOT attempt to drink while reading that page unless you enjoy having liquid come out your nose.
Titan-Os are like level 40 Hami-O's. So you can use them from levels 37 to 43. And not before and not after.
@eryq and ChaosAngel: Nerfs are good. You have two choices when something is broken: Bring everything else up to its power, or take it down. The right choice, is nearly always to take it down. Shield was not nerfed hard enough (aao still needs an adjustment). The zephyr change was fine. Now, nerfing something that's not broken is different, I can get behind no unnecessary nerfs. But if it's broken, I want it nerfed.
Back to the topic. I'd also agree to more Purple recipe types. Why not a heal, endurance or defense type purple set? Spread the purply love. lol. -
I didnt think things through enough. lol. I agree with you guys. No more nerfs, some base love, colorable epic powers and such.
I've always said that id like to select what level rolls i got in AE, too. I think it'd help the market a ton. Why give me a 50 recipe if i roll in the 35-39 range?
And not only "heavy" builds, but why not chunky? I'd love to make a Phat Pharmer with overalls. LOL. -
With Stamina becoming inherent, what else would you like to see?
I'd love to know which mission is the cave or buildings when i choose to run radios. Since we have options for missions to choose, a little C or B beside them would be nice. I hate caves. lol.
I'd also like to choose not to wear socks with sneakers on my male toons. The knee high socks are blah, imo.
Also, it'd be awesome to be able to pull ALL our enhancements in 1 Respec and not only 10 at a time and use 3 or 4 Respecs to get the stuff off. I know, im dreaming. For them to be selling Respecs for real cash, they probably want us to Respec as often as possible.... It's all a Nemesis plot. lol. -
I have and have seen a ton of farming toons. Not many is better than a fire/kin/fire. I have 2. They can clear a BM map set to 0x8 (for purples) in 15 minutes. And can handle +3's on a team. Cant ask for much more in a farming toon.
I suppose the OP is really seeking a farming toon since the examples he gave are for such. So, in that case, my opinion is still fire/kins.
My elec/sd can still handle x8's with ease, too. The nerf only took my damage from 850 to 600ish. With Melt Armor. Not too much to cry about. Elec/SD/Fire can still take out a mob after the charges+fireball. Depending on their levels.
Even my Elec/Kin/Fire (which has vitaully no damage) can still take on mobs of +2x8.
The toons can do whatever you can afford to make them do. Within reason. +4's are hard on anything. (with bosses) -
Then you can easily afford to just buy them. I save the inf and/or make it by killing things. lol. I get bored in WW, but to each their own.

I must farm way more than most or something. Ive never gone months without purples. I farm a couple hours per day and up to 10 off and on during the weekends. I dont get them every run, but at least 1 every few runs. Just dumb luck i guess. Running solo at 0x8 unless PL'ing my 2nd account.
-
I agree, but im refering to drops per run not per hour. Its not uncommon to fill all of my recipe slots on 1 run and i can do a run in 15 minutes at 0x8. That's a ton of recipes per hour. lol. Mostly commons but thats still 100k per recipe.
-
I know its all chance drops but it seems like i get a TON more drops at 0x8 than i do with the diff raised. I usually fill my recipes and salvage per run or close to it while getting half of the amount by pl'ing my alt at +4x8. And yes, thats combining both toons' drops.
And you dont have to have bosses for purp drops. I get plenty solo farming with 0 bosses. -
Kewl. I wasnt sure if 1 done a noticable difference in power.

Scrapper vs brute?? I want a fire/fire toon. Not sure which build. Ive never had a brute and not sure of the damage output. It will be moved to hero side asap. Just dont know which would be better to play. Any tips or advice would be nice. TYVM

Ive been told to plan to IO. Grab stamina and the physical perfection epic. grab the heal proc theft of the essence. Every now and then the proc will give end as it heals you. You dont need the fear cloak, grab the stun instead.
I still feel like it could be revamped somehow though. Good luck. -
I need 4 pieces of the Hecatomb set. I have the damage one. I can trade 4 pieces of Armageddon. Any 4 is fine. Let me know which 4 you would need. Thanks.

Quote:Well, i just tried mine out. Against even con i was still hitting over 600 hp of damage with Melt Armor. Around 550 with just BU. So, i cant really feel the change. I was dealing over 850 with MA previously.Just curiousÂ… the game being balanced around SO's is just part of the equation, right? Isn it supposed to be balanced around SO's, against even cons (I guess the setting would be 0/1 now)? If so, I think pretty much any combo, especially Scraps, is fine. I can't imagine the new SC not being able to destroy even cons.
Old SC was EXTREMELY funÂ…. if you were the Shielder. From my experiences, if there are 2 /Shields on a team, you might as well not bother bringing a damage class. Or at least not a Scrap. I can totally understand that it was considered OP.
Maybe i misunderstood Castles post. But my way of thinking is it was a nerf. Due to the way different changes were made, other than just to the damage modifier. Since it was supposed to be a known fact. To change the timing, seems like they were tinkering with different ways to nerf it. And to say under normal conditions it was ok. That means (to me) that heavily IO'd toons were stronger. Well, they are supposed to be. (imo) Why else do we IO them? To be worse? Not I.
As far as teaming. Its up to the Star holder to gather the right "pieces" to form a team. To say after picking 2 SD toons, no more scrappers would be needed is true. How much more damage would you want? Unless you want a team of 8 scrappers.
Just my opinions. Take em or leave em. -
I just got finished with Pra. White and atm i have 0 contacts, also. Noone to call or go see. I was curious as to what to do also. Im level 6 atm.

Quote:Well, you know what they say about opinions.... And to be honest, EVERY power is spammed. Some just have longer recharges. So somehow spamming one power every 40-60 seconds isn't easily entertained?
I am very glad the recharge wasnt adjusted, since apparently the damage modifier was off. -
Found this.
Quote:Brutes basically performed as desired at normal levels of gameplay, but at the extremes, were too strong offensively compared to Scrappers, and too strong Defensively compared to Tanks. So, I buffed tanks defensively, and slightly tweaked brutes offense.
Differences on a Scale 1 attack:
Code:Class Base OldMax NewMax Brute 42 357 325.5 Scrapper 67.725 338.625 338.625
Now, notice where he said "at the extremes". Well, all purpled out toons or any other toon heavily IO'd are going to be "at extremes". Therefore should not be adjusted if the system is based around "normal play" with which he said "was fine".
Now, Castle, don't get ticked at me for pointing this out, but it's not right to "fix" toons based on extreme toons heavily IO'd. If so, just axe the whole IO system (imo) and go back to SO's so that we will all be equal.
I think SD was the same way. Was fine under normal play but not at extremes. -
Quote:If that was the whole case then why was the recharge even touched? If it was an issue that Castle 'knew about', the it seems to me that they would have just changed that. They made a couple tweaks, then, changed the damage modifier.Be... Because it wasn't nerfed because of IO's. The damage modifier wasn't set to where it should have been. It was much, much stronger than it was supposed to be, IO's or not.
Theres also a post that Castle made in the GR section about 'high end toons' with the "fix". Ill try to find it. -
I havent played mine yet (busy with GR) but i cant asy i agree with the nerf. Ill tell you why.
The game is suppose to be balanced around SO's. IF that is the case, then why nerf powers (not just SD) because IO's make them stronger? Isn't that the point of IO's? Especially purples, since they offer such big gains in %'s.
I think the DEVS need to take in alot more consideration of the effects of IO's and instead of nerfing everything AFTER the time and money is spent on them and make the weaker from the start of just let them be. If the game is truely based around SO's, then accept the fact that IO's are goning to make toons stronger. If people don't want to IO toons, then they shouldn't complain about powers being "overpowered" because that's teh whole point of IO's. (IMO) -
Quote:Im in the same boat as you. My mobo is fried. I have about 5-600 to spend. I just bought a new card (9800 gt 1024mb). Now i am just gonna go get a new tower instead of trying to piece together a mobo/pcu or whatever i may need. Now, i just have to find a pc.My current PC died on me. I haven't built one before so doing it myself looks to be a rather low option. I've poked around and done small stuff to my current tower, but that's it. Looking around likely $500, or so($700) price wise. Mostly looking at decent processor, RAM, and power supply. Graphics are card after that since I wouldn't be doing a ton of gaming, but would like to run current stuff decently enough. I've been so use to running CoH on low graphics anything would be an improvement due to my current PC being 4-5 years old. Hard drive space is a non-issue. Willing to go with lesser stuff(RAM, GFX card) if it's easily upgradeable. I tend to use computers for as long as they can go.
Just seen this one at Best Buy. I think im going to get it and just do a couple minor upgrades.

Ok. Heres my situation. Im gonna have about 500 bucks to do this. Do i
a) Go buy a Mobo and CPU and just hope that fixes it?
or
b) Take it to best buy or a local pc place, let them diagnose it and buy the parts?
I hate to spend the money to buy the stuff, then still have to spend more for another pc or more parts. Ive never messed with the inside of a pc other than swapping the card or adding memory, but after swapping the power supply i think i might can swap the other stuff. I just need to know exactly what i need to coincide with what i have.
Thanks again.
