Ok,
So I have pushed and torns and fought my way up, and I have thourghly decided that I love the Khelds, I do, I like the idea behind them, but the problem is that I dislike the time involved in switching forms, and I hate the crappy crabby...
Soooo.... I am searching for help with builds, I want to do both a peacebringer and warshade in human only form. I would like to keep the fighting pool, and hasten in both the warshade and the peacebringer, and the warshade would need combat jumping and super jump as a travel power (as I still don't have the hang of teleport as a travel power).
Anyone willing to help me with this?
Thanks in advance,

Endlessly, for some reason the boards won't let me send you a PM, contact me in-game at @Liberties please?

Quote:That was kinda the point Golden Girl, I do not have any interest in something being locked behind a new trial. I definitly don't have any interest in doing said trial some five times to unlock the new trial. My primary concern there is to show that while I am excited about the hybrid slot, I AM NOT excited about having to get togther with 24 other people who likely won't bother reading how to do the trial, or having run it in beta yet like I have, and won't listen to instructions of those who have. That is frustrating to me especially on a small population server. Those 2 kinda go together - you'll need to show at least a tiny bit of interest in the new Trial if you want the new slot
Now what should be done, in my opinion, and this is an opinion poll after all, is that the hybrid slot xp should be open to all who have already unlocked the other four slots via soloing in Dark Astoria. IE: if you already have Alpha, Judgement, Lore, Destiny, and Interface all unlocked then the new Advance IXP should start trickling in due to missions and street sweeping in DA, or in any other incarnate trial.
Locking new content behind new trials sets horrible precedent.
"Do our new stuff or else" is basically the tone they are setting. Last I checked they were giving us a sandbox to play in, not a railroad to run down, to use the PnP terms. -
1. Lots, We have Dark Astoria, a new solo-based zone for incarnate content and it has become the gathering place for incarnate trials as well. The game itself has had some updates including some new powersets since 20, (try staffs, it ROCKS)
2. While some people on the boards hate on it, I love my home on Exalted... As part of the 4rth largest SG on the server and coalitioned with The Incarnates, I find someone to play with in seconds should I want that.
Come and run with us anytime.. .
Good hunting,

0 interest in the Magesterium Trial, can't wait for the Hybrid Slot...
I second the global Midnighter Unlock for the Paragon Market.
I would also like to share some of my ideas publicly. I think we should be able to get Incarnate threads as a rare Pack item, and as a rare item a random access to the Reward Table for the Incarnate Salvage (Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Very Rare, just as a Trial).
Rare and Very Rare drops should include Purple IO and PVP IO sets (account bound versions)
Maelstrom's Pistols should be added as a Rare Drop to the Packs, or as a straight purchasable item in the market. (The amount they go for in the market is obscene)
I am looking forward to the new sets, and thoroughly excited at hints of other features we may have down the line, this game is a wonderful community and a wonderful set of friends for me and I look forward to all the things we have yet to experience...
Good Hunting...

Ahem, STOP CHANGING MY CHARACTER'S PAST TO FIT YOUR GAME'S FUTURE!
I can understand changing the badges for those who gain them in the future, but I gained that badge when it was still Tyrant we fought, and Statesman in the shackles... I fought my way through the Praetorians and I freed STATESMAN...
It is an integral part of my back-story for Liberties actually, as that was a moment when he fought with himself, his past history with Statesman leading him to want to let him rot, but his current status as a newly redeemed hero being tested.
I am Statesman's Pal...
Positron smells, he wears that damn suit too much... -
I thought I would get back to the "Core" issue here... and answer your questions...
Quote:*edit*
1. What must one do to acquire the resources needed to make Inventions - recipes and salvage? Can this be done by just playing Story Arcs and regular missions like I always have, or do I need to run Architect missions or farm Alignment missions or such?
2. Is it possible to build specifically at level 50, using only level 50 Inventions, or do I have to have a menagerie of different numbers on my Enhancements screen?
3. What defines "cheap" vs. "expensive" sets? Market price? Ticket cost? Merit cost? Is there any way to tell which is which before I commit to it?
4. Does everyone have to build for Defence? Seemingly, whether your sets provide defence or not, and even whether you're melee or not, everyone suggests building for defence. What else should I build for as a general thing? Recharge? Endurance? What?
5. Is it possible to develop a basic template that's at least generally applicable to a whole AT with whatever amount of tweaking, or does every character essentially require starting a build design from scratch?
6. How much work is it to put together a decent, "cheap" build at the level cap as opposed to, say, buying a full set of Common Inventions, assuming I have the build worked out beforehand?
1. Yes, you can but it is MUCH slower path to completion then using Wentworths to fill in slots as you can. I also tend to hoard everything I find that is of quality, in my base's storage toward future builds for Alts. This saves time and Influence when I am building a later character.
2. It is possible, but not desirable. Some 40 and even 30 level sets have bonuses and proc abilities that you can't get anywhere else. I don't build a character for example without three slotting health and having Regenerative Tissue: 30 Proc, Numina's Proc, and Miracle Proc, that's a 30 a 40 and a 50 in the same power, but the overall result is 25% Health Regeneration, 15% End Recovery, and 20% Health and 10% End Recovery procing every second.
3. Cheap Vs. Expensive builds is the definition of how much this build will cost to fill in from Wentworths.
4. Building for Defense is the best bet for survivability, as it is the harder of the two, Defense and Resistance, to raise. I build scrappers, brutes and Tanks, for Defense, Resistance, and Recharge, in that order.
5. The best thing I can say you must experiment with how each AT works, and how each character works in tandem.
6. Once you have a build worked out, it isn't that much work to gather a build together. It is about 2 days to go from a basic IOs to a full IO Set build assuming your paying for the invention recipes and crafting everything. If you have the cash to straight pay for everything, it can take as little as 4 hours.
Here's how I build:
Tank/Scrapper/Brute: Defense/Resistance/Recharge/Damage
Stalker: Defense/Recharge
Mastermind: Defense/Damage (Pet)
Blaster: Defense/Recharge/Damage
Defender/Corrupter: Defense/Recharge
Controller/Dominator: Defense/Recharge/Damage
Warshade/Peacebringer: NO IDEA... I am lost with these... it depends on the implicit build, triform, dual form, or human form...
VEATs: Again, dependant on the character... Build Widows like Stalkers, build some Spiders like Masterminds and others like Brutes or Blasters...
Perhaps these questions and answers are helpful. -
The Server is alive and well,
We're all still here and kicking.
Hope to see you around,
Feel free to say hi,

Quote:Seconded! I would love a all sword animation for my Fire/Invuln tank, or a all mallet animation for a Stone Stone, that would look awesome...Ohh, I love these threads
I don't like it when melee sets mix swords and mallets and elemental punches and such. Stone melee and Fire melee suffer from the same problem (IMO), no consistency in its animations. Giving an alternate "non-sword" animation to sword/mallet attacks, plus alternate "sword" animation to non-sword attacks would be enough for me to play it (well, fire, I don't like ice, but whatever). -
Yea, I can't get him to recognize via Oro, via running them with anything other then a BRAND NEW 50 ...
Anything that ran DA content on day 1, is broken it seems. The one time I did seem to make some form of progress, when I went back afterwards, the list was right back to square one.
What day does his list reset? It says I have a week, what day does that reset, Friday? Saturday? You'd think there would be some info on that one floating around.
Any ideas folks?
Thanks

I am having an issue getting TM Gabriel to recognzie my exploits in Dark Astoria... I complete arc after arc in the place, and it never updates. I have tried soloing, redoing through Oro, and even completing on virgin characters.
He NEVER Updates his lists for me.
Anyone else have this issue? -
-
Thanks so much for posting this.
I very much appreciate the writing tip, if nothing else.
-
I am not getting the message that the tool is down, merely getting to the point where I have selected my desired server, and then I cannot select the desired character. There is a list, and it is correct, however the system isn't populating a menu of any sort to allow me to choose from this list to go to the next step.
Anyone else run into the Character Copy Tool acting like this?
Thanks,

Your best bet for a PnP game for CoH is to modify the existing rules from Palladium's Heroes Unlimited. It has most of what your looking for already pre-built and a lot more then what you realize already done up.
Now with that being said, there are issues with the system, if you GM for that game you HAVE to have a really tight understanding of the rules, and a VERY Strict hand, cause else your players will take advantage of rules loops and you will have Godlings in your midst pretty darn quick...
but good for the goose is good for the gander and all
The great part of Palladium is that ALL the Palladium books are interwoven, they all work with each other, so you can have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (licensed) in with your Mutants and Masterminds, and your Superheros, and your Robotech, and your Rifts, all in the same game, and all at roughly the same powerlevel with some work from the GM...
Good luck my fellow nerds, and just remember to bring enough dice... -
Hey all,
I use to run on Virtue a lot. This WAS my home server, and Unified Force use to hold some small but loyal group. I am asking you now, help out an old friend.
A lot of us moved. We hopped ship to Exalted, when it launched and found a new home there. We founded a new SG called Obsidian Syndicate, and built a good rep for ourselves a s a friendly, open to RP group, then a week later along comes a spider, called Project Obsidian Operations, (the POO), who sat down in the #1 spot on day one of they're founding...
Yes they BOUGHT the #1 spot, and every time someone threatens to overtake them they spend more massive influence amounts to keep they're lead. So I ask you, to help us in the Great Prestige Push.
This weekend we are asking all our friends on any server, to come join our group, or The Incarnates in a little competition we are holding. The point is to earn the most prestige, without influence transfers. The greatest earner for each group gets a prize each day, (to be determined) and the overall winner for the weekend gets at least 2 Billion Influence, and a set of ATOs of they're choice.
Come participate, come cheer us on, Come show that cheating and buying your way into it isn't ok!
We're the Obsidian Syndicate, I'm reachable @Liberties, or you can reach the other leader @Obsidian Light, On Exalted you can send a tell to Captain Incarnate if you want to push forward with them.
Good Luck, Good Hunting, and if you don't wnat to help us over on Exalted... then Good Hunting here on Virtue my friends...I wish you well.

Currently I have checked the following servers I have received the same Map Unknown error on ALL CHARACTERS for all THREE ACCOUNTS I own, and two accounts I have the log ins for my friends for emergencies.
Everything is locked out at the moment on the following servers to my knowledge:
Freedom: Down Hard, can't even get to character select
Exalted: Unknown Map all
Virtue: Unknown Map all
Test Server: Working
WHAT HELL GUYS -
Ok, frankly this is something that is a good idea...
Here is what I already watch...
There are 5 markets involved:
Commodity Market
(this is the core of the commodity market, honestly they should all be watched and a monthly average taken)
-Luck Charm
-Pangean Soil
-Diefic Weapon
-Essence of the Furies
-Gold
-Hamidon Goo
-Magical Conspiracy
-Regenerating Flesh
-Scientific Theory
-Strand of Fate
Standard Invention Enhancements
Each type of Standard Invention Enhancement at each 10 spot average taken after a month.
Invention Set Ehancements ((levels 35, 40, 45, 50) (Averages taken over a month and graphed)
-Luck of the Gambler +Global Rech
-Obliteration (All)
-Performance Shifter (All with emphasis (weekly graph) on the proc)
-Freebird +Stealth (Monthly)
-Doctored Wounds (all)
-Miracle (Special Emphasis on Proc)

-Time & Space (+Stealth)
-Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control (all)
-Blessing of the Zephyr
Purples
ALL OF THEM NEED TO BE WATCHED
PVP IOs
This is broken into two different markets,
the one on the auctionhouse, which never moves from 2Billion for the good stuff
and... the one on the boards, the so called grey zone market... which should be watched closely for this purpose...
There some enhancements go for 2.5 to as much as (when they were first released) 5 Billion influence. I call it a grey market cause the source of the influence could be anything, you never know where it came from legit saving, farming over time, or RMT...
It's those PVPIOs that are the winning lotto tickets in CoH...
When Enhancement Converters hit live, things are going to change a bit, but that is why it's important to get an idea of where we stand now. -
WAY overpriced, no sale this time Paragon, so sorry...
-
Unwelcome change,
I welcome things that bring people off the farms... but this doesn't do that. Frankly this encourages the AE Babys to stay in AE and just makes it harder and more complex for my SG members and I to get everyone into an ITF with new characters, for example.
God Forbid we want to run the content there...
::sighs:: seriously Devs, EACH person has to run the arc themselves, you can't run it as a team anymore, we have to cure some 160 lost for an 8 man team, with a 5 second cool down that means we are down in the old sewers for AT LEAST 13 minutes plus the time to get to the Lost and back out... all spent in a place where the bad guys are no threat to us, and if we accidentally hit the wrong button we just wasted 10 or so potential targets...
You can't see how this is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING! -
Quote:"I'm not even suppose to be here todayyy..." OLAY!dude, considering i look like Dante from clerks, consider yourself lucky. i'm not upset about it, i love the pic, but i've had the line "I'm not even supposed to be here todayyyyy" on a continuous loop in my head ever since i saw it.
sorry it's what went through my head... -
Quote:Liberties, Magic SS/Inv BruteYou had some very good and useful suggestions there. I'm just presenting an alternative for those folks who just cannot justify incarnate powers in their character concept.
I can honestly say that I've met very few people who's character idea is so rigid that they cannot, under any circumstances, take incarnate powers. Most people are players before they are role players and they want to play with the shiney toys up there at 50+.
So, lets open this up a bit, forum readers. Like the man said at the beginning, how do you work near godlike abilities into your character concept? Do you just ignore it and play on? Do you work it into your story some how? Do you have a specific plan?
Storywise Liberties is and always has been the former sidekick to Statesman and himself a potential incarnate. He started out as a bad bad man, fighting against the heroes on a tirade of violence aimed at destroying Statesman, later in life he realized his best bet at hurting Statesman was to beat him at the Hero Game, and become a better hero.
Alpha, (Not represented in game as an actual power but I use Cardiac)
Judgement: Ionic Final Judgement, "Odin's Lightning" Channeling the All Father's Lightning as Statesman does Zeus' Liberties strikes down his foes with God's wrath from on high.
Destiny: Barrier: The Incarnate of Odin has the ability to shield those of righteous might around him.
Lore: He calls to the Einherjar, warriors of ancient times come forth to aide him. (Cimeroran)
Interface: His strength is massive, the friction from his blows accross skin and clothes can cause them to occasionally burst into flames. (Reactive Interface)
Yea, my character has always been an Incarnate of Odin... so it's not so much a stretch for me. -
