Not choose a Blaster as my first CoH toon in 2004.

....Oh, you mean what I would have done differently if I was a DEV!

    Well...

    1. Not create the melee/range dichotomy that resulted in having Blasters be the red-headed stepchild of CoH for a huge number of years and Scappers/Tankers being able to pull off demi-god like feats.

It makes no sense that melee had overpowered mez protection and higher damage while "range" was cited as a "defense".

    2. Create an economy and IOs in the first place. It seems weird that crafting and WW and creation of an economy wasn't in place at the beginning.

    3. Introduce Kheldians differently.

    4. Not make endurance management so burdensome until now we're at the point with inherent stamina. Players want to play. The way endurance was designed basically made playing burdensome and unenjoyable until you hit 20 and get to slot stamina. It really, really turned off alot of players and certainly didn't endear many who demo'ed the game to stay.

    Getting Fired

Maybe she will be back too, and the XP express can roll again.

Anyways... I finally got around to trying an Elec controller. So now my hypothetical question... (not that I would actually DO this, but just for fun)

What things could a person do to get fired from their job, so they can just collect unemployment and sit home and play their controller all day. Lol. And let's not limit it to just one job, but for any job.

    Here's a couple things I thought about.

    1. When I get to work, just stay in my car, and say "I'm here, that should be enough."

    2. Show up in my pajamas and say, "I forgot to change clothes."

    3. Overflow the toilet at every opportunity.

    4. Set off the sprinkler system.

    5. Stand there constantly eating candy bars, with chocolate all over my face going, "Whut?".

Well, wish I could think of some more, but I gotta go to work now grrrrr.
You want to get laid off. Or have a disability. You don't want to get *fired*

If you're fired, there's no obligation to pay you unemployment. Your employer can dispute your application for benefits if you're fired. Just FYI, in case you want to try one of the above ideas
  3. I could never get into Caprica. And I was a big BSG fan too.
  4. Let's hope they don't use the "let's send never ending waves of Council" in the last stage game design like in the Cuda SF.
  5. Sorry to see you go. I've always liked your posts. Stay safe.

Doesn't change the fact that every character I have, new or old, will have to be respeced once I-19 hits live. Having 3 slotted stamina at level 3 sounds too good to pass up.
Yup, if I have a new character. Unfortunately, I don't get to play as often as I used to so I'm barely keeping up with maintaining my favorites I have now.

But I'll have to echo the 'too-many-characters-to-respec-in-i19' problem. Respeccing is an annoying process and many people will have to do it several times, in a row. It will get tedious.
I think there's confusion on what the OP means by "a build". I was interpreting it as your current build on your current character that already has been created.

    Exactamundo.

Respec'ing now would not benefit you at all. You would:

    1) remove Stamina, Health and either Swift/Hurdle. All of these powers I use and slot accordingly with very useful IOs. I would miss them. Not having them will kill my Endurance. What's the benefit of respec'ing and reomoving Stamina now? So I can wait for Issue 19 staminaless?? No thanks.

    2) There's no way to slot Stamina and Health as inherent. So again, there's no benefit whatsoever.

    3) Respec'ing is a pain in the ***. I'd rather be playing, where I can get influence, salvage, fun with my teammates.

    4) Issue 19 can be delayed!! We are all assuming it'll be released sometime in November. That can change on a dime depending on the whims of the Devs. I'm not going to take out Stamina without a confirmed date of release.

Sorry, I'd like to enjoy playing my characters.

What are you going for? That's the question you need to answer first, Defense? Recharge?

On almost all of my blasters I put in Thunderstrikes, Decimations and the Purple Range. I like Recharge, I like Defense. Health and Endurance can be made up with other sets not in my attacks. I also put Crushing Impacts when I can. I just like Recharge.

You know what's the problem with these costume booster packs? We still are limited to ONLY five costume slots!

So basically you sacrifice some favorite costume to outfit the newer shiny costume. Wish the booster packs would include an *extra* costume slot.

Tech gets an aura that periodically shoots steam from your joints like Self Destruct, and another one which shoots sparks from your joints.

The two capes I found remarkable are the Nature cape which looks like a blanket of leaves and the Tech cape, which looks like it's shiny and like it has a pretty sophisticated texture. It's hard to explain.

As for getting another Booster so soon after Party? Well... Are we actually COUNTING Party? Seriously? I mean, sure, I got it, but even I wouldn't count that one. This seems a bit light on content, but even right now, I know of at least two characters I can upgrade with them, and that alone is worth the $10 to me. Plus, hey, more capes and auras at character creation is always good. All the better to make the cape and aura missions pointless.
Agreed. The Party Pack I completely passed on because emotes are the least utilized feature for me.

Costumes are worth it for me. Although I wish they were more "boosterish". Just limiting it to capes and auras is kinda slight. However, 3 of the capes are very well designed. Especially worth it if you can use them immediately upon character creation.
  12. Just go Fire/anything. Really, that's all you need.
  13. Personally, I'd rather have shiny new stuff instead of worrying about all the old NPC stuff. They're all old and low rez and the time taken to update them doesn't seem to be worth the trouble.

This is based on the assumption that there is limited art resources to go around. If it all can be done, sure. For me though, I want more high res really cool unique stuff that the NPCs don't have.
  14. Anyone know what Tin Mage's powers were or his classification? Can't find his original mention so I forgot if it was ever revealed.

    Good to know. Thanks.

I have done similar with a couple groups myself. It's always a treat when an old member drops in once a year or so. Also, you can always coalition with other groups if need be or move a few alts over that way. Just keep a few of the formerly more active members on your global list so you can spot them should they ever happen to drop in on a whim.

As a bonus, you get to play with base building a little for what that is worth.
Thanks for the advice guys. I've decided to keep them and try to redesign the bases.

Is it possible to change the Villain group name? One of them is really bad.
  17. I am the last of my kind.

Before there was a Company of Rogues, united in their desire for power and wealth.

Now I am all that is left. Of not one, but two Villain Groups on two different servers. By default, my character became the Commander of the Villain base due to complete inactivity. I am the only member logged in the last 6 months.

What should I do? Should I try to contact the founder? I don't want to recruit and lead. I just like to punch bad guys (or backstab them).

Should I kick every member out that hasn't logged on over a year? Should I raze the base to the ground and start anew the way I like it? Is it rude to completely redesign a base you had no input with in design or preference and only dutifully contributed prestige?

    Quandary...

Yes, I'm sensing the C-plot this season is to track down Mom so she can be with Elle for the birth, like tracking down Dad for the wedding.

Awesome is a terrible liar so Chuck has to lie to him. Elle is the over protective big sister/faux Mom to Chuck and now that she's preggers, Chuck doesn't want to worry her anymore than necessary. Not every spy is Michael Weston.

Anyways lying to loved ones is one of the fundamental cornerstones of situational comedy and face it, Chuck is an Action/Comedy.
The first two episodes have been kind of lackluster. It's only been saved by Levi's and Strahovski's chemistry together. I think it'll be interesting if Chuck can compete in the "Spy-Rom" genre with that new JJ Abrams show and an interesting contrast to see how the two shows deal with conflict and tension between the couples.

My main beef is that I really didn't want them to go down the "search for the mother" routine because I got all the mother angst I wanted after watching Alias.

My other beef is that they really should show some grief or issues relating to the death of Chuck's father. Not even a burial scene or something. After all those years to lose him to a insane act of violence. I don't know. We'll see how the show goes.
  20. #5.... Find the Glowie in Oranbega

#4.... The Lead a Hostage Out in a 5 Level Office Map

#3.... The Council Vampire Generator Map & Mission

#2.... The Defend the Circle in Croatoa

And the most annoying map mission is.....

#1.... The Defeat All in the Cave Cake Layer Map! Anytime I get this one I immediately auto-complete.

I was about to re-sub right when GR came out and then I read about the changes to Brutes and Fury...basically lowering their damage.

Although most people never stay at the damage cap...the lowered cap really hurts my "want" to play this character.

How does this effect the ATs top level ability?
    Can you still solo AV's?

What exactly does this change do to the AT overall?
You won't even notice the difference in damage. Seriously, in real game situations, your Brute will continue to smash like there's no tomorrow.

You WILL notice that Fury is easier to maintain. I play solo a lot and take breaks due to phone, IM'ing, general interruptions. I've noticed I can maintain Fury without the steep dropout so I don't feel forced to race from one spawn to another.

    Just make one already!
  22. So the Menders of Ouroboros were introduced way back in Issue 11. Are we ever going to experience the Coming Storm that's been hinted and hinted at sometime soon? Issues used to push the CoH storyline and now it seems the overall storyline is taking a back seat.

There are tactics you can use to minimize its effects, and, due to the nature of it's powers, Masterminds, Dominators and Controllers are at a bit of a disadvantage.
So is it working as intended?
  24. Thanks for the quick replies everyone. I got passed it after reading up on your advice.
  25. Ok, I've faceplanted twice now. Are you supposed to be able to fight BV or not? I can't target her at all and she just nails me with her attacks. Are you supposed to ignore and run away from her in this mish?

    Thanks.
