Ok so, a few days ago I know there was a pre-download of 100+ MBs that started once you closed the game.
The thing is, on the day that this was released I was dual-logging on and off throughout the day. So I kept having to open a second instance of the game repeatedly but not be able to let the downloader do its thing when I close the game since the main instance is still running. However, when I was done for the day and decided to call it a night the downloader never got on. I restarted the game several times and quit, still no downloader. I restarted my computer and then the game, still no download. And this has been like this since then. I can't get the download to happen.. Did I screw it up by canceling one too many times? Or did I miss something? I would really like to get this done BEFORE the Strike Pack is released so I won't have to download who knows how large of a patch on release day and take forever to download/apply.
Any advice would be appreciated. -
I use voice chat a lot. I have a group of friends whom I voice chat with pretty much all the time when playing. However, it's just like other people said. I never close my Chat tabs and always pay attention to the game channels (at least the team channels). If I'm running a TF I normally invite people to join us in voice chat if they so wished, even to just listen. I don't say my instructions in voice but type them in team chat for those who aren't on the call with us.
It's just like many others said. It's not a problem with voice chat, it's simply a problem with the player himself. IMO, voice chat is fun, and makes some events (like Master of Runs, Cathedral of Pain runs [get the team leaders together on voice chat], and other stuff, or even just the shard TFs because they take quite a bit longer than any other TF in the game). Of course there are drawbacks to it..mainly the background noises you randomly hear now and then. Or inviting a PuG from the team on the call only to realize you've gotten yourself involved with a a weirdo from Mars or a pervert who swoons when realizing we have *gasp* GIRLS ON THE CALL! (yeah...happened before, lol).
Anyways, long story short. Voice chat isn't to be faulted, it's the player. -
Quote:I do! I really do. I hate the new Posi with a passion. If for nothing, for the effin' tiny merit reward it gives. I like my merits, and the TFs (aside from Citadel, I HATE CAVES! >.< Oh, also Justin Augustine is freakin' boring too) are really fun for me! Shard TFs are a blast, the Freedom Phalanx TFs are also good fun, iTF, Kahn and LGTF are good merits in a good amount of time and they're sorta fun. STF and LRSF are one of the most fun things for me in the game.5: Revamp of all the Freedom Phalanx task forces. The only reason people run them is because they're needed for an accolade. I don't know many people who actually LIKE them.
So, for me. No, don't revamp the TFs, PLEASE. And even if it's done for the love of everything that's holy don't cut down the merit rewards to absolutely nothing like you did with the Posi TF. And judging from the new Posi, I'd say they're doing it aaallll wrong. Posi is the only TF I run for the badge and do so with only 2-3 people in the team to get it done as soon as friggin' possible. The rest I run because I actually like (and want merits >.>).
As for me, my wish list:
1) Offline SG invites and promotions, for the love bunnies.
2) Pool and APP/PPP customiation. At the very least, the ability to turn off Hasten and Frozen Armor effects. Maybe even Super Speed's, too.
3) More storage capacity in the base, please!
4) The fact that I can store 100 IOs or 100 inspirations in a bin but only 30 pieces of salvage always makes me lol. -
Quote:Hmm, interesting. Imma have to look into that. The highest I personally got was about 122.5% on my Plant/Nrg Dom pre-hasten. But then in that build I was also building for S/L softcap and didn't consider PvP IOs.It's expensive, but yes.
Just a cursory (and really bad) brute force attempt on a fire/fire dom netted me 153.8% recharge. Outside of Hasten and no FF proc.
Recharge is just under 128 seconds.
Kick Hasten on, and it's recharge drops to just under 107 seconds. Perma.
I'm sure, with a bit more experimentation, I could probably squeeze a few more percent out. I wouldn't make any promises about how effective it's going to be though.
Thanks, will have to check this out. -
Honestly, I highly doubt that's his Hasten's recharge value before Hasten's own recharge. Is it even possible get that much recharge without Hasten's own? That's about 165% or so recharge almost.

Short answer: No. Because you still need to wait 2.34 seconds after it wears off to cast it again and start the animation/cast time.

Quote:That's still a pretty neat spreadsheet to have. Thanks for posting that.I misread debuff resistance as damage resistance show I hunted up a link to a spreadsheet with most of the mobs damage resistance listed. Since I took the time to find it I'm gonna post it anyway.

Quote:I just get them as my level allows me to regardless of the side. If the character hits 50 and haven't had all 4 auto accolades yet, I devote one play session to sit down and grind all the needed badges for them (usually I get a couple friends who also need them to help so it goes faster, especially the hunts.)At what levels is it feasible to get the auto-accolades? I think I've gotten two of the auto-accolades, but my main is 41
and IIRC some requirements for the others involve doing the Recluse Taskforce (Which requires Level 45..)
Also, If I'm on redside, getting the Demonic Aura on my character as soon as they hit 25 is a must do for me. -
Quote:Yeah, that's the same problem I'm running intoCan't find any specific listing of what their debuff resistance is.
Some mention using Monster or AV resistance, but I'm not sure if that's just for Damage and/or Mez

Quote:It's Hess, not Moonfire. Moonfire is auto unlocked. Hess needs the arc.Edit: Already corrected.
The only 'must-do' for me is the Vanguard arc. There are a lot of arcs I really enjoy in the level 30-40 range, I try to skip as much as possible before that. I pretty much never do the cape mission, I hate the Hollows, I like Faultline but rarely find groups there so I just skip it, and that's about it really.
As for me, my must does for every toon:
- Oro portal
- Vaguard Arc
- Cimerora access
- All four auto accolades if possible, at least the Portal Jockey and Atlas Medallion -

Well, if you right click on the Chat menu and hit "Channel Search" it will bring up a list of all the (public?) channels on that server. You can look at the channel descriptions and populations to see which ones are worth joining.
-
Aah ok. I figured it's a far off chance but too many things match between you and that guy, lol.
Anyhoo. I'm sorry I can't help you decide on an EU server since I'm an NA player. But..why not play on both and decide which one you like better? You start off by 12 character slots on each server by default. So my personal recommendation would be to create a character or two on both (something that you actually enjoy...so that wouldn't influence your judgement on the actual server or teaming in it) and after a month or two decide for yourself. -
Ok..this might be some far off rare coincidence. But that's as in Tiago M? AKA Tubago on GameFAQs from a few years ago on the FFX boards?
-
Digging up this old thread to ask a similar question. Anyone knows the Giant Monsters resistance value for Debuffs? I'm kinda assuming it's 87%, but I want to make sure.
Thanks! -
Thank you very much for all the informative posts guys.

Quote:Does this one stack with the steadfast protection +3% def all?
So in other words, using both, you get +6% defense to all?
If so, wow. That's sweet.
Yeah, they do stack. But the Glad Armor unique is not only uberly expensive (2 bil on the market... can go up to 3 off-market usually), it's also very rare to find to begin with. -
When I19 was first released, many people said that the Alpha slot doesn't work on "summoned Pets". I'm still not sure what's really meant by that. I tried asking in some of the channels no one seemed to know a clear answer, and my weak search-fu on the boards didn't help, so I'm asking this.
How does the Alpha slot exactly affect pets? Master Mind/Crab pets? Controller pets? pets from Patron Power Pools?
I realize the for example the Recharge or End Redux Alpha won't affect the pets themselves since slotting Recharge/End Redux in pet powers doesn't affect the pets directly to begin with. But what about Accuracy and Damage Alphas? Do they boost pets Accuracy/Damage? Do they even have any effect to begin with?
Thanks. -
I'm quite excited about all this. And "Few short weeks" for the 3rd and 4th Alpha Tiers is something that can't be here soon enough! This all sounds very awesome and I hope you guys don't disappoint. So far I've been extremely happy with all the new content (well, not ALL of it...but the vast majority :P)
Congrats Ghost Falcon and Second Measure on your promotions! -
This happens to me randomly too, quite a bit as well. It can happen right from the begining of zoning in, or sometimes even start up working normally then suddenly disappear during the mission. It's frustrating to be honest.

Quote:This is pretty much what I do. Whenever I feel burnt out on the game I just take time off it.Yea, it's certainly happened to me. Too much of anything eventually leads to burnout of some form or another. What's always worked for me in the game's I've played over the years is to just take some time off from gaming and then come back with a more 'fresh' mind.

It is sad to see so many good people leave. You will be missed Ochu. May good fortune smile on you wherever you're going.

Yeah, and it's a pretty long one. 3.5 seconds or so I think.
