  1. Things You Should Know About Voodoo Girl
    • Lord Voldemort refers to Voodoo Girl as "she who must not be named."
    • Voodoo Girl's calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd; no one fools Voodoo Girl.
    • Voodoo Girl does not go 'hunting', because that terminology implies failure. Voodoo Girl goes killing.
    • Voodoo Girl doesn't mow her lawn. She just stands out in her yard, and dares her grass to grow.

    • Voodoo Girl can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.
    • A Handicapped parking sign does not signify that this spot is for handicapped people. It is actually in fact a warning, that the spot belongs to Voodoo Girl and that you will be handicapped if you park there.
    • The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Voodoo Girl played in second grade.
    • According to the Encyclopedia Brittanica, the Native American "Trail of Tears" has been redefined as anywhere that Voodoo Girl walks.
    • Voodoo Girl sheds her skin twice a year.

    • Voodoo Girl CAN believe it's not butter.
    • Voodoo Girl always knows the EXACT location of Carmen SanDiego.
    • Voodoo Girl has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. She won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades, and a green #4 card from the game UNO.
    • Voodoo Girl grinds her coffee with her teeth and boils the water with her own rage.

    • Voodoo Girl has already been to Mars, that's why there are no signs of life there.
    • When Voodoo Girl had surgery, the anesthesia was applied to the doctors.
    • Once a grizzly bear threatened to eat Voodoo Girl. Voodoo Girl showed the bear her fist and the bear proceeded to eat himself, because it would be the less painful way to die.
    • Voodoo Girl sleeps with a night light. Not because Voodoo Girl is afraid of the dark, but the dark is afraid of Voodoo Girl.

    • Voodoo Girl doesn't worry about changing her clock twice a year for daylight savings time. The sun rises and sets when Voodoo Girl tells it to.

    • Voodoo Girl does not "style" her hair. It lays perfectly in place out of sheer terror.

I hope you've all learned now to stop casting Mystic Fortune on me.
  2. My response to people who tell me to stay on topic:

    SUCK IT

If they want me to stay on topic, they'll have to silence me. Camaraderie helps build community and relationships.

And I like to build things before I destroy them.

    Boo.
  4. You could always start your own Role-playing SG based around a theme or concept, and as you make new friends in game ask them if they like the idea and want to join a character.

So, why the hell was this not put in the FAQ or in the original post?

Edit: Actually, no, it's not great, the account I created wasn't a trial, it was a full account so I could get Passport badge (yes, I'm just that sad ) so my original problem still stands.

Regardless, why is the reactivation weekend IN ADVANCE we were promised not going to happen?
Reactivation week is from 5/3 - 5/10. A WHOLE WEEK.
  6. Please, I get yelled at every 5 minutes on Virtue TF's for not staying on topic (and I will continue to digress!) ;-)
  7. So I recently decided to move two more of my long term characters from the Victory Server over to Virtue (and I also wanted to rename them, so before transferring them over I created ashcan toons to occupy those names so my transferred toons would be eligible for a free rename as well.)

One of my characters I decided to strip entirely of her lore, her looks, and her name - and I got to admit - it's refreshing to take a level 39 toon and get totally "start over" in terms of their story.

    /end nerd ramble

And that's the beauty of the game - while I don't necessarily love Praetoria - I enjoy the mechanics that were introduced with Going Rogue - morality, side-switching, Rogues/Vigilantes - in my eyes, it was a success.

Please note, this response isn't meant as an attack - I simply had an extra helping of ZING! this morning.
  10. Unfortunately won't be able to make it - have a seminar and some other things happening that evening.

    Who' this Arbiter Hawk, anyways?

    I Demand....

I demand people stop randomly reading my fortune - it pisses me off when I'm using the market, levelling up, sorting through storage.

    "BUT ITZ A BUFFFF!!"

    "And this me hitting 'ignore."

Drive by fortune readers get slapped with a global ignore from me.
  12. VoodooGirl

    Costume Parade?

    The enthusiasm is overwhelming.
  13. VoodooGirl

    Costume Parade?

I know we have bucket loads of costume contests - but what about a good ole fashioned costume parade? One for heroes and one for villains?

Supergroups could march together to show off their SG costumes, people could put together "themed" groups (witches, robots, lizard men, cat girls, etc.), or people could march alone to show off their uniqueness.

Maybe some awards - but just a good ole fashioned costume parade using that Walk power ;-)
  14. If I can create custom mobs that can look like this:

    ...then /signed.
  15. Also, there is an important choke point that at one controller/dominator should be covering (ideally 2)

I've been testing that spot with my Dominator for the last few days, and on any sized BAF run (from min to max), I find that to become a crucial spot for me to be. I simply slap down (alternatively) thorntrops and rain of fire, and then use my group immobilize power.

Naturally commandos can't be held or slow, but it filters down the crowd. It allows a larger group to quickly all target the commandos while I can simply immob/hold/kill the remaining minions. Also, with Judgement powers, it makes it easier to get a cluster together.

Also, it needs to be noted that the choke point should be closer to the middle bunker on the south end. Why? Because as illustrated, one escape route is behind the west most bunker. Positioning the choke point closer to the middle bunker helps slow down that crowd.

A good choke point for the North path would be closer to the North East bunkers, but I'll have to test that out.
  16. I think people have learned what an awesome griefing tool it is to make everyone sit there... and wait...
  17. The easiest way to avoid this is to decide who will be responsible for the Acids and who will be responsible for the grenades. Even on a random PUG this is a point I think people can agree upon.
  18. Thanks Arcana! Added a small note to check to make sure people aren't AFK before launching!
  19. I've been seeing a lot of success with killing Siege and Nightstar at their spawn locations without having to hide much anywhere. Literally, one person on tower duty, one team covering the reinforcement spawn doors, and it works beautifully.
  20. Running an Incarnate Trial

    Prep Work
Basic things you should be familiar with when organizing or putting together an Incarnate Trial Run:
    • The Incarnate Trial (iTrial) you intend on running.
    • The min/max amount of players needed for the iTrial.
    • A basic guide or idea of what the trial entails, and any strategies or helpful macros for running the iTrial.
    • How to use the League window & System.
    • How to use the Queue system

If you don't know which Trial you want to run, or you already do, it helps to search the forums for any guides or info currently out there on the iTrial. Make sure you understand it thoroughly as best you can (either with previous experience running it or an idea from reading about it.) Know what the key points are during the Trial and what is the best recommended strategy to handling those situations.

    Putting Together Your League

This is as easy as putting together a team, only different. Say you've broadcast to the high heavens the iTrial you're running and you've gotten all the meatshields you need and they've gathered around and are panting in excitement to go. Simply invite them by using /li playername or clicking on them in the search window, or their toon, and selecting "Invite To League."

As you invite people to the league you'll see them get spread out across your league window as 6 separate teams. So if you invite 24 people you will see them in your league window spread out over 6 teams. This is where team management comes in.

Sure, you could leave them thinly spread over 6 teams, chuckling at the catastrophe they are sure to endure. Hey, grief is funny (from a distance)! However, like any sensible dictator, you need to manage your league:

How To Manage Your League Teams:
    • Open the League Window.
    • Select the player you want to move to another team with an available opening.
    • Drag and Drop the players name in the League window to the available opening on the team you wish to move them to.

    Alternatively
    • Right-Click on the player you want to move to another team in the League Window.
    • In the drop down menu, select "Move to #."
    • The # is the team you wish to move the player to, provided there is space.
    • When you select that option the player will be moved to the team select.

Well, what if you want to swap two people between two teams? Easily done!

How to Swap Players Between Teams
    • Right-click on the player you want to swap with another player.
    • Choose "Select for Swap."
    • Right-click on the other player on another you team you wish to swap.
    • Choose "Swap With Previous Selection."

    Voila. Leaguemates swapped.

    Launching a Trial

Alright, so your league is ready, your teams are balanced (if you're into that sort of thing) and everyone has peed and is ready to go! What do you do now?

    Launching an iTrial!
    • Make sure all of the people in your league are alive and well and are not AFK.
    • Click on LFG on the top of the Chat Window.
    • This will bring up the Queue/Turnstyle UI
    • Select the radio button next to the Trial or Trials you are interested in doing (if your League is open to whatever.)
    • Click Join Queue.
    • In a moment or so a window will pop up giving you the option of Join Event or some other red button with some sort of Cancel-related text on it. You and your leaguemates have 59 seconds to confirm.
    • Demand all of your leaguers hit Enter Event.
    • A smaller window will pop up informing you of how many people have hit "Enter Event," unfortunately not who hasn't. (QoL request!)
    • Once the timer is exhausted you will all magi-port into the Trial!

What To Do While The Train Is In Motion
    • The most essential thing for a League Leader/iTrial Leader to do is communicate. Even though you may have gone over in great detail the strategy your league will be using while running the iTrial, it is important each step of the way to remind people.
    • Make it clear which channel you will be communicating directions in (League, Request, Broadcast, etc.)
    • Encourage your league over any success - even the smallest ones. Hey, surviving an onslaught of Vicki's is nothing to dismiss.
    • If your well laid plans go astray - improvise. You know what your goal is, adjust on the fly, and encourage your league that anything is possible, so just shut up, quit crying doom, and frakking do what you tell them to do.

    Things You Should Know
    Things you ought to know:
    • Some people have crappy loading times. It will behoove you and your league and wait until everyone has zoned or assess if someone has DC'ed in the process.
    • When launching as a league, everyone needs to be in the same zone. The trial won't launch if everyone isn't in the same zone. So if 23 people are in Pocket D and one person is in RWZ - it won't launch.
    • Can't launch from inside of missions.
    • Sometimes teams can get mixed around upon entering - blame it on space/time continuum conundrums.
    • Make sure you have communicated beforehand how you will be giving directions, if any, and make sure everyone is on the same page.
    • Depending on the iTrial, assign roles if needed (collection duty, add duty, crazy suicide lady watcher, etc.) before you launch the Trial.

  22. There's no need for that since we have the Turnstile.

Yes it is a ghost town. Weird NJ just did a feature on it.

The way it works (as I remember it being explained) - or should works - is it does a check every X amount of time (I forget the exact number) to see who's in the queue for what (or any.)

So if only the min amount of people are in queue, or available, to start the minimum needed for a BAF/Lambda, it will start with the minimum. I've had a few Lambda runs where I was PUG'ged with 10 other random people, or a 22 person random PUG BAF.

It comes down to how many people, on your server, at the moment the turnstile checks are in the queue for an iTrial.
