  1. Go SS/Elec Brute. This way you'll have Rage, all the electric powers that matter and have a lot of momentum.
  2. I wonder if people know that you don't lose that much xp.. I'm sure someone will explain that you only lose exp if the confused baddies do over 50% of another enemy's hp in damage.. and even that's small..

From that point on, my only choice is what opens up.

At 32, my only choice is my final primary power. At level 35, my only choice is my penultimate secondary power. At level 38, my only choice is my final secondary power. Yes, I realise I could be taking pool powers. What if I don't want to? Most pool powers suck, and even the ones that don't aren't always needed. And we all know Fitness won't be an issue pretty soon.

I have always been a fan of opening Epic pools earlier. It presents us with more options without the abovementioned drought of choice, and it prevents build options from being no-brainers. It also allows us to branch out earlier, which is always a nice touch.

While I will admit I find a certain level of comfort in having my build decided for me by a game which gives me single-option "choices," I've always thought that our "own" powers should actually be at least twice as many as we can actually take. There's an idea of alternate power picks floating around S&I which talks about each power giving you a choice of two, mutually exclusive picks, and that's something along the lines of what I'm suggesting.

In simpler terms, I find the Kheldian approach to be the better way to do it. Yes, you have many, many powers, but trying to take them all is a fool's errand, so you HAVE to choose. Does your Peacebringer focus on melee, on range, or forms or, hell, even on self-protection? It's a meaningful choice, and one I had a really hard time with (before I gave up on Kheldians thanks to Voids and lack of status protection). My builds for all of my non-Kheldian characters, on the other hand, usually consist of all 18 primaries, four of the five Epics and two "travel power picks."
I agree with Sam here, Expecially now that we get free Fitness, that opens up 3 more slots for the majority of us. That alone is making it a headache deciding on what we want. Its 3 free powers! thats already awesome. The problem is that not everyone wants to fill those slots with the powers at hand. I don't want to take Black Hole or Sonic Cage! And the pools aren't fitting in with the rest of my powers. Allowing hereos to pick up their Epic at 35ish would allow people to more easily slot their Epic power pools, round out their character earlier, and hold off on more situational powers until later.

The EPP/PPPs were made around filling the holes that each archetype has (squishies getting shields, tankers getting AoEs, etc). Some power combinations are difficult to play until the character is rounded out (see Grav/Sonic Controller). And some combinations have so many powers that don't need slots right away, thus many slots are wasted on powers that don't need them. These powers are usually the situational powers that we get in the 30's.

So, by allowing us to pick up the EPP/PPPs in our 30s would defenantly help some builds. It would make placing slots less of a headache and open up many, many more choices at the levels where choices are minimal.

Oh and seeing extra powers put into the powerpools would be awesome. Perhaps we could get the powers already in the pools spruced up. I want Whirlwind to be awesome, as well as Air superiority and Jump Kick
  4. Or you could replace it with an attack that does something different, like a range attack...lol throw sword.

Or mabye a toggle that buffs to hit to all nearby allies or something. The set would have to be somewhat different from the Axe set. We don't want a sword set thats a literal mirror to broad axe. If it was then I'd simply suggest renaming broad axe into 'Medieval Edge' and giving the set the option to be either a sword or an axe from the customization menu. But I don't want to do that honestly.

    possibilities?

Hmm. Ar/Fire/Mace sounds good, but I beleive you'll find more use out of AR/Ice/Mace. Cold will add surviveability. Just use your little AoE immob, throw down the Ignite patch, then use your ice manipulation to keep enemies from hitting you too often.

    Ar/MM/Mace also sounds tasty.

    Archery/Sonic

Corruptors are probably the best Archetype for Sonic Resonance. It's next to useless solo, but thats ok because you deal good damage any. On a team it's extremely powerful, as others have said. Just remember that as times goes on you'll really start to see how lackluster it is solo and it'll impede on your soloing speed after around 16ish
  7. Fire/Dark by far. but Fire/Sonic and Fire/Rad is also fun.

    Incentive!

Atlas seems like the only place that can do it due to shear numbers. I find the rewards lackluster for an event that requires some form of strategy and coherence. Yeah it really shouldn't since the 'strategy' and 'coherence' is extremely minor. But it is still there, and it needs to be applied on the fly with whoever is in the zone. Perhaps better rewards for fewer people in the zone who can accomplish it.
  9. You can pm me (not sure why you can't.. is something turned off?) but my sig has been here for.. awhile.. longer than a year I believe. Sorry If I seem proud that the Devs listened to my idea of fire/cold/toxic ammunition. Atleast I'm not saying 'The devs listened to me before, thus they should listen to me now' or throw around 'i've been here since 2004, thus my ideas are betterer' or 'I know the Cottage Rule, thus my opinion means more than yours'

I should also put that a few people in that topic also had great ideas and showed that it was possible (unlike those nay-sayers grrr!). I'll probably do that later.
  10. People won't hate you for picking bots. Infact, most teams would prefer you to have bots. Zombies want to melee, thus they get in the way sometimes. Bots sit back and pew pew things. Anyone who says Robot's Knockback is annoying needs to go back to WoW, put on auto-attack then go make a sandwich. Robot's knockback is laughable, so don't sweat it.

I'd say Robots. They don't get in the way, they can hold their own against +2-3 level enemies easier due to +defense and staying at Range, and they buff you.

Zombies are fun too, but Robots come out slightly ahead.
  11. Cottage Rule is more like Cottage Guideline.

If Broad Sword ever got ported, Parry would definently be changed. It stacks right out of the box and is already provind a huge 15% per stack. Thats without SOs. You can easily get it to 22% with SOs and get it to stack 3 times. Not perfectly but it's still a huge amount of defense.

It might not be changed in the way it's used or it's effects but it'll be worked around. Perhaps a much longer cooldown or a much lower defense boost to compensate for Tanker's already-high surviveability.

    Stone Armor/Broad Sword: Yes

    Purple Drop Rate

purple drop rate is next to zero. I'v NEVER gotten one.. ever. Solo or other wise.

But then again if I want Phat Lewt I'll play WoW or something. Not like the Purple Sets are that great anyway, or drastically more powerful.

    Halloween Mobs

jeese, its like every since GR, the game has gotten harder. and not in a good way quite sad.

I don't ToT alone so I honestly can't put much weight into what I just said but they do feel tougher.
  14. I still dont think debuffing or increasing the hp cap is the way to go. A stalker's primary duty is to take out key targets quickly with high burst damage. I'd take a simple global damage boost over a debuff anyday. We have, what? Defenders, Corruptors, Controllers, and Masterminds playing the Debuff Archetype. We honestly don't need another. Stalkers don't need an HP boost becuase they don't want to be hit on teams anyway so they can hide faster and while solo they already kill spawns relatively fast.

My idea was probably a little much, but I still dislike critical hit on Stalkers. It doesn't do much for them.

Atleast give Stalkers a boost to their critical for every attack that isn't a critical until a critical is made... that would help encourage Stalkers playing a more bursty role.
  15. I feel like the Critical mechanic isn't very useful to Stalkers. Scrappers enjoy it a lot more due to the fact that they don't use BU-AS-Placate-AS. This combo alone doesnt use Critical hit. Instead of boosting Stalker surviveability, I would like to see their damage boosted beyond Scrappers. Why? Because Scrappers are already a hardy class that does consistant damage in either AoE or Single Target. By trying to make Stalkers like Scrappers, your endangering the uniqueness of Stalkers as a whole.

So instead, I propose a change to the critical hit system...

    ---Assassinate---

    Cast Time: Instant
    Recharge: 1 Minute

When used, the Stalker's next attack is a critical hit. The Stalker's next attack costs no endurance, cannot miss and is not affected by the target's resistance if it is above 0%. AoE attacks get a flat 50% boost to damage and can still miss, still costs endurance and is still affected by resistance.

The Stalker's Assassin Strike immediately makes this move useable again if the Assassin Strike hits. Assassinate does not boost Assassin Strike in any way other than Assassinate removes the cooldown of Assassin Strike and Build Up if used while hidden.
  16. Hey, you gotta have a weakness somewhere (unless your willpower... totally op).

    Invuln has Psionic damage,
    Dark has Energy
    Electric has Toxic
    Energy has everything

    you get the idea.
  17. Terminal Velocity sounds like such a sweet power.
  18. Something about The Center blabbering about Requiem. Nothing important.

    Isolate Farming?

Get farming out of Atlas. Some people may enjoy farming, others don't Either way it's not really cool to encourage the new people to go straight to the AE and live there without seeing the rest of the city.

notice the word: encourage... not force, so don't play word games.

    yes.

    Long answer:
    kinda.

Not everything in old content would be changed. Just a few missions would be updated, perhaps whole areas would be changed, etc.
  21. While this topic is severely off topic, I will say that Scourge greatly boosts the corruptor's overall damage. Remember, a Defender who is damage capped, is damage capped. A corruptor who is damage cpaped, can still proc scourge. Corruptors vastly out damage defenders in long fights, specifically against +3/+4 mobs and against AVs. Other than these two situations, the damage difference is still moderate but not massive.

But a Corruptor will -always- out damage a defender. Solo, Scourge plays a much better roll. On a team, the defender loses the 30% damage boost, thus corruptors pull ahead. People tend to forget that.
  22. Considering they are back ordered for I20 AND I21, they are probably doing something so damn massive that it will require two updates. I'm going with a complete overhaul of old content. Sprucing up a mission here and there, playing with the war walls, etc. I could say something crazy like making Shadow Shard actually playable and a part of the extreme end game. Hell, anything is up for grabs here but just in general: complete overhaul of old content.
  23. I'm with Tex here. AVs need a serious overhaul in terms of appearance or magnitude, expecially now that new TFs are coming out trying to spruce up encounters concerning them.
  24. I'll be Sam's Editor:

I use to not like Praetoria but I like the power arc because it makes me feel like my own boss. I now like Praetoria.

    just poking fun Sam.
  25. A Kheldian going Dwarf is the equivalent to a Dragonball Z character going Super Saiyan for the first time: It takes 3 sagas and an extra 6 episodes of soul searching... and a flashback episode... and a episode dedicated to the Villain's backstory... where were we?
