It is disgusting that even during Halloween, nobody cares about the Banner/Deadly Apocalypse event! How do we increase participation?

I've been recruited into teams by total strangers while checking my marketeers on virtue, freedom, triumph AND guardian.

Recruit by doing something other than standing in the zone broadcasting.

Join global channels for your server.

Make friends and keep them. Maintain your global friendlist by consistently adding teaming and talking to people you get along with.

Atlas seems like the only place that can do it due to shear numbers. I find the rewards lackluster for an event that requires some form of strategy and coherence. Yeah it really shouldn't since the 'strategy' and 'coherence' is extremely minor. But it is still there, and it needs to be applied on the fly with whoever is in the zone. Perhaps better rewards for fewer people in the zone who can accomplish it.

Whining about everything since 2006.

Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:

One team that only needs to know enough to pay attention to split up evenly between 4 banners and gather at Banner A then B C and D in order? More rewards for that? 5 badges for 30minutes of paying attention is suitable reward for a simple task.

Not to mention the buffs for taking down the baddy.

I love getting the strength buff on my brute.

I just toured a few of the events over the last two days. There seems to be roughly as much interest in them as there is in getting dunked in dog vomit. *shrug*

(In other words, about as much interest as there is during the *rest* of the year.)

The problem with Banners is that in most cases by the time there are enough people present to do it, there's generally not enough time to actually complete the durn thing, but on the flip side, since they happen randomly, it's not especially feasible to get a group together for one and then just sit and wait for it to happen. The event doesn't scale to team size like Zombies or Rikti, so there's nothing to be done with it if you can only get a couple people together. I think what would salvage the event would be to have a set up more like last year's Winter Lord event, where it could be more or less reliably triggered once you had people actually ready to do it.

I think the problem with it, is that it happens year round. So, they miss it this event, they can likely at some point get the badges.

To make it more worthwhile, is just have the zombie event year round, and keep the banner event strictly to the halloween event, so people will be more likely to go after them.

ANother problem is some people just don't care to get the badges on all their toons, and can get just as good (if not better) xp with ToTing.

Personally I enjoy the Banner event, but, it's random enough, I usually miss it, and I don't go out of my way to head to it, when it's happening in a zone I'm not in.

Well, heroes do best by not participating in it. The banners don't spawn monsters unless you try to destroy them, and they disappear by themselves after 20 minutes. And IF you destroy the banners an even bigger threat is summoned. So heroes keep the city safe by simply ignoring the banners. Sad but true.

If the banners actively threatened the zone they were in, say by causing the monsters they summon to show up everywhere, on a rampage, like the other invasions, then maybe heroes would have a better reason to destroy the banners.
