See now that right there is a good reason NOT to decrease the recharge.

And I don't understand people who are fine with fluff taking as much or more effort to earn than things that have a tangible effect on gameplay.

The thing is your suggestion is just plain ridiculous. You're not asking for it to be made somewhat easier. You are asking for it to be practically given away.

A ten badge requirement is not "practically given away," not by a long shot. I haven't seen any characters that don't actively go after invention badges with more than 4. -

I'm pretty sure Ms. Liberty would be a lot more upset if you'd killed her mother.

Seriously, this is a nice accolade. Craft enhancements anywhere? Nice! But the requirements are INSANE. It requires something like 40 invention badges, and at minimum 1000 crafts, not to mention a substantial investment of inf. And of those 40-something badges, 36 of them have esoteric requirements that the game doesn't show you progress on properly, so unless you're keeping track by hand you're flying blind. Hardly anyone has this accolade - only the hardcore badgers do.
The requirements need to be scaled back, and HARD. It should be something like 10 Invention badges - any 10. The badges for crafting certain categories of common IOs should no longer require both levels ending in 0 and 5 for credit; either should count, and the needs for those actual badges should be reduced. Furthermore, Uncommon, Rare, and Ultra-Rare IOs should count for the categorical badges. A level 29 Acc/Dam/Rech enhancement should count towards the badge for each the Accuracy, Damage, and Recharge badges for level 20-29.
Failing that, make all the invention badges and the progress tracking account-wide. -
Right now it looks like you're completely unable to use the Mission Engineer accolade inside missions - I discovered that the weird T-Pose bug was caused by using it in missions - was the functionality removed as a heavy-handed fix for the T-Pose bug? Tell me it's not so! That's incredibly inconvenient!

For a nominal fee of $24.99 (plus applicable taxes), allow players to swap the contents of two servers. For example, pick Triumph and Freedom: Every character and purchased/awarded character slot on Triumph is transferred to Freedom, and vice-versa. A bulk rate for character transfers, if you will.

1. Any reason to stack the 2 armors, the initial 1-24 one and the upgraded Bane one? Can you even DO that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, you can do it, and the reasons for doing so are pretty obvious: so you get the benefits of both! More damage resistance and more mez protection! Truthfully, you can get away with just one, (the Bane one because it's way better) but getting both can't hurt, and they're a handy place for the Steadfast Protection globals.

2. If I'm mainly soloing, is there much of a reason to take the Tactics toggle? I'm having a tough time fitting it in with the other powers I want for soloing (Frag grenade, Pummel, Bayonet...just for fun, really).

More ToHit is always good, and it lets you be more flexible with your accuracy slotting. This helps with the pets, because you'll want to devote at least 3 slots to recharge on them which only gives you 3 slots for Accuracy and damage. If you can find the slots, and it's worth it to, six-slotting it with Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control gives you an excellent 2.5% defense to Melee, Ranged, and AoE damage.

3. Do people bother with Wide-area Web Grenade? I took it, but rarely use it for much of anything, it seems. Thoughts?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's great for dealing with pesky runners, but the AoE is very small and in general the Web Envelope power from Mace mastery is much better (wider AoE and faster recharge). I took it on my Wolf Spider build but don't use it much and generally forget I have it.
I will say that knocking the flying patrols in the Longbow cargo ship base missions out of the sky with it was unusually fun for me.

4. So Web Cocoon is really that awesome? Based on the mag, looks like it can hold a boss on one hit, and the duration is enough to stack it with minimal recharge enhance (maybe even just Mental Training). Any comments on how to slot, why it's so great?
[/ QUOTE ]
Web Cocoon is good for all the same reasons as WAWG/Web Envelope. It can't hold a boss in one shot (unless you stick a Lockdown proc in it and the proc goes off. Lockdown is a good set for Banes to slot because it gives Ranged and AoE defense), but the -recharge can help with mitigation, especially if stacked with WAWG/WE, and since it's a Web 'nade type power that means it's the one of the best "you're not running away now" powers in the game. Plus it's a hold, great for dealing with things like Sappers.
But no, it's really not THAT awesome. -
I've got a buncha questions about Shivans. They're apparently human skeletons from graveyards that have been animated by alien goo. They're affected by the Ghost Slaying Axe, which points to them being undead. But are they really undead, or is the goo itself necromantic in nature? When you talk about a Shivan, are you talking about the goo or the skeleton? If you remove the goo from a Shivan leaving only the skeleton, would the skeleton still be animated or would it be just a normal skeleton? And those spikes and claws the Shivans display, are those new growths on the skeleton, it having been actually reanimated, or are they other environmental debris that's been incorporated into the Shivan form? Are the skeletons, in fact, only used to give the Shivan goo structure so that it can walk and move? I guess my real question is, does the goo actually cause the skeletons to take on some sort of unlife, or is it the goo itself the undead lifeform and the skeleton merely an actual endoskeleton for its "body"?
Also, if you put Shivan goo on a cow skeleton, would it make a cow-shaped Shivan? -
[ QUOTE ]
Haven't you ever noticed the bones in the Shivans? They are usign the energy from the dead which makes them vunerable to weapons affecting the undead.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, I think the Shivans only use the bones of the dead for the same reason mammals have bones to begin with; without the bones to give them structure, they're just piles of goo. But then we have the question of why Shivan goo only seems to animate the bones of dead bodies and not other things that could serve the same purpose like steel bars or logs. The best answer, I think, is that the goo is naturally drawn to the bodies of the dead because its power is, in fact, necromantic in nature, which would also explain why the Ghost/Undead Slaying Axe has an effect on them. (Though I suspect the real reason that it works on them is because Castle or another powers/mobs guy looked at them and said, "Ambulating skeletons? Yup, that's undead. *flags as undead for the Axe*") -
Introducing arc 144748, an arc focused on delivering a concentrated shot of the most intellectual, high-society humor there is; that's right, Canada jokes.
Wrath of the Glacier King is a short 1-mission arc featuring everyone's favorite "country that is a backyard to another country." People purporting to be actual Canadians have sent me feedback on this arc telling me that it's spot-on, so take that as you will. Give it a try! -

How so?

I don't know. I'm sure it would though, because PvP is wobbly like that. -
You're gonna have to download stuff to your computer disc or no disc, it's just a matter of how much. I'm hard-pressed to think of a situation where you can't do the pure download install but partially installing it with the disc and downloading the rest would be A-OK. You could keep around a copy of CohUpdater.exe, it's the only file that you really need to install the game, and it's a small enough file to fit on an old 3.5" floppy.
-
I'd just download the game, after 2 years there's gonna be so much new stuff to download and patch that your CD doesn't have that you probably won't save much time on the install.

I think it would be ironic if our guns didn't shoot bullets, but instead squirted a healing salve that cured all wounds.

Architect XXV is the badge for earning 25 AE badges. Thing is Architect XXV actually *is* the 25th of 25 AE badges. Without it, you can only have 24 AE badges, meaning you won't qualify for it. Lots of people, (like all my existing characters) already have Architect XXV, but that's because they had it before the badge recall. Many of them don't even qualify for it anymore. Is it actually still possible to earn this badge starting from scratch? I couldn't test this, since every character I have already has the badge from before the badge recall.
-
Not any more anyway. The original design was that you could beat the Katie TF without defeating Mary MacComber 10 times, but if you stuck around and did because your team was so awesome you got a prestigious badge and a new costume piece. Now? Now you can't beat the TF without earning it. I think a redesign is in order.

Haha, silly ATZ, the Warriors' jackets aren't leather!

This may seem like a stupid question. "To get into the building, obviously!" you're probably thinking. But why do we have to click the door to get in? Why aren't the doors just a square opening we can run through, perhaps with physics object doors to swing around on hinges realistically when we do? Unlike other building interiors like the stores, the interiors of the AE buildings are actually physically located inside the buildings you see from outside. With the stores, the interiors are actually far underneath the rest of the map and the clickable doors are necessary to warp you there, but it doesn't seem necessary with the AE buildings.
I don't think the doors improve performance much either, since I can plainly see my framerate sputtering a bit when I go near heavily populated AE buildings as the game loads the costumes of those inside, and when you're inside you can see everything outside through the windows (I could be wrong, though). So what's the point of the warpdoors? -
I don't think they're allowed to make fun of us unless they use their redname accounts.
-
The obvious answer is that the devs post when they work, and they don't work on weekends. Fair enough. But why? Is it not possible for them to log into their redname accounts outside of the office or something?

The "muzzle" flash when you use the Bane Spider Web Cocoon and Mace Mastery/Web Envelope (at least the Bane Spider version) is pointing at the ground; it's rotated 90 degrees downwards.
-
If you have a Sprint power active, and then start flying, the dust cloud will continue to be produced while you fly. If you start flying while in mid-air when the dust cloud isn't appearing, it won't appear at first, but will appear and stick to you if you fly near the ground until you stop flying.

Scorpion Shield in Mace Mastery for Dominators: the visual effects and sound don't play in sync with the activation animation. The effect doesn't start playing until the animation is finished.
Hand Clap in Super Strength: When this power is used while flying, the yellow shockwave is displaced quite a distance to the character's left, instead of where the hands (should) meet.
Not sure exactly how this bug is reproduced, but oftentimes, when I'm on my Arachnos Soldier, if I change costumes while my gun is drawn, the muzzle flashes and various VFX that should be at the barrel of the gun shift to the right of my character. Sometimes changing costumes again or drawing my Bane mace will get the VFX back to the right spot.
I've noticed that in a lot of the Burst and Heavy Burst-type powers used by NPCs, particularly the ones with Miniguns, the VFX is out of sync with the animation.
