  1. I wouldn't say harder. More painful, sure. Like in order to get certain accolades one has to get the Take Damage badge, or the Debt badge, both at ridiculous levels.

    Fastest ITF?

What with needing shards I figure bragging about how fast you can run an ITF is like bragging about how fast you can have sex.

With the incarnate stuff out why would anyone want to do a speed ITF? Barring of course that it might be the WST and you want to cycle as many toons through it as possible. or it is late at night and you need to get to sleep.
  3. I was the emp supporting a tank who was taunting Recluse. The tank was a fire tank and really needed my attention. I hit secondary mutation and instant monkey, hopping around trying to not get killed.

For some reason I wasn't killed. The tank died a couple times, but pulled through. We ended up winning the TF as well.
  4. It's a mostly wasted power. In my opinion it is only good as a PBAoE taunt. It does no damage and can do knockback. As a melee toon I object to any knockback.

I'd rather just sit for 10 seconds and taunt if necessary than waste a power choice on Handclap.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but if the Def doesn't crash on any overlap of the power, what about the -damage, and -endurance?

Looking at my build again, even with a set of Gaussian's in it, I should be ok.

But it does make me think it's probably a bad idea for a Shielder like myself to 'use' it until he/she can make it overlap.
You don't need Hasten to overlap Rage. Two recharge enhancements and you are good to go.

You always get the -endurance cost and the -damage. But it's only for 10 seconds which is pretty quick. You can still get the -def as well in my experience even if Rage overlaps.

I alway have Rage on Auto. On my Willpower/SS tank I 5 slotted Rage and put in Adjusted Targeting IOs to get extra accuracy (set bonus)/to-hit
  6. Yeah, I went cardiac all the way. Not only did I need the endurance reduction, but the extra damage resistance is very nice.

In my opinion it is the only boost to use with Inv/SS tanks.

but yeah, fair enough. Superman tributes should probably favour LBE, since it actually works in midair.
Yes, Foot Stomp doesn't work when flying. Quite annoying, but yeah....
  8. I always get Laser Eye Beams. The animation is quicker and it has a -DEF component. Hurl takes longer (even with the quicker animation) and does knockback. As a melee AT, I really hate knockback effects.

So for me the answer is quite clear. Lasers all the way!

    Pew! Pew! Pew!
  9. Well until issue 20 actually goes live I think it is a bit early to say "There is no solo content at all."

Granted it sort of looks that way now, but the devs have thrown in surprises before.

Just saying it's still a bit early to start screaming.

I'm far past asking to be thrown a bone here. If the forum population hadn't made it clear to me that I'm no longer welcome, the development team sure just did.

Like I said, I'll give the game another year or two. I don't think anyone can argue that's not enough time. But what I've seen in these last months has robbed me of any enthusiasm I might have had, to the point where it's starting to eat into my brand loyalty, and THAT concerns me.

Let's not forget that it's an Issue I paid money for, as well. But you're making the I7 argument, essentially: I7 was villain-centric, which apparently made people so mad that every single Issue since has been hero-centric, to the point where we have to keep reminding ourselves that villains still exist, and aren't, in fact, stand-ins for the heroes. But they still don't have their own content, they're just allowed to tag along on hero content.

But, yes, I know how you felt. Can we call it even now and try to strike a middle ground?
For me it's the opposite. The last few months have made me really excited to play CoH almost to the exclusion of all else.

But then I'm not very villain-centric at all.

I thought it was pretty clear, at least from my time on the sneak peek, that the two trials would unlock the next two incarnate slots; judgement and lore. EDIT: Didn't read the rest of the posts before making my post. 4 slots?

Also a further QoL item noticed from the sneak peek, you can designate yourself a helper, which makes your floaty name a different color, so that if folks in game have questions they know who to ask for help.

You can also designate yourself as someone who might need help. Or you can opt out of either choice if you don't want to bother.

Plus you can accumulate shards while exempted. So having only level 50 content is really a moot point as we can all get shards from the 20-40 TF/SFs.
  12. So you have no travel power?

    Wouldn't do that myself.
  13. Are you in control of what Telepathic charges are cast or is it random? If you are in control it seems to be a rather complicated system.

    Otherwise it's an interesting idea.
  14. Well, you want an attack power set that has lots of area of effect attacks.

It also depends on what enemies you have for your farm. With Willpower if you can get a Council type map they will not be able to hurt you. Same with Rikti. You obviously want to go up against enemies you have little to fear.
  15. Also with the Siphon Power mechanic you will want to be clicking KM attacks, not heals. So That right there is a good recommendation for /WP.
  16. I usually 6 slot High Pain Threshold for the extra hp. After playing with Mids I found that 2 Numina and a generic heal IO gives a better regen rate than 3 Numina. So if you've already got the +regen/+recovery one, then go with Heal and heal/something.

Also no Ancillary pools?. I usually go with Energy Mastery to get Physical perfection which I then 6 slot for end mod and heal.

Why is Hand Clap in there? Useless power in my opinion. Same with Hurl. Drop Hurl, Hand Clap and Resurgence and get Conserve Energy, Physical Perfection and Laser Eye Beams (-def component). Because with SS/WP if you need Resurgence you are doing something very, very wrong.

There really are no good dam res. sets out there for tanks as far as I'm concerned. Although Titanium Coating is good in 3's for the extra hp, which in turn helps your regen. In terms of raw dam res from enhancements, better to just go level 50 dam res. enhancements. There just needs to be some dam res. sets that help tanks and/or scrappers.
  17. Needed rabbit heads as well so we can make 6 foot invisible Rabbits named Harvey.

I know my brother has a Pooka character and needs a rabbit head, or at least a face to match the rabbit ears already in the game.

Especially considering that the Task Force Commander accolade is very important to get if you have any intention of maxing out your characters. We "have" to do them, yet most of them are unbearably tedious(this week's WST being Sister Psyche is a perfect example).

Noone wants to do a TF that takes more than a couple hours max. The original notion that people would play them over the course of a few days was horribly ill-conceived. Get rid of the redundant Kill Alls, get rid of the missions in multiple zones, and give us some more quality "Set Piece" battles like Dark Mirror and Reichsman.
I agree. Synape's TF is a perfect example. Cut the number of missions in half and you have a really good, solid TF. The way it is now it was like the Devs were padding it so that they would have content long enough to run over a few days. Almost no one spreads TFs over more than one play session.

The only value the lower level TFs have is to quickly level characters. You can easily go from level 12-15 or more running Posi. and 15-20 doing Synapse.

I also agree that if a TF is started in Zone X, then all the missions should be kept to the same zone. Synapse is another good example. Starts in Skyway and ends in Skyway, but most of the other missions are done in Steel. Why?
  19. One thing I noticed about my WP/SS tank is that I can just blow through carnies without any difficulty or huge endurance drain. Dark Ring Mistresses, which terrified my DM/Regen scrapper are just speed bumps. The only thing my tank fears is sappers. Even Knives of Artemis are but mere nuisances.

I'm thinking that WP can work similar for a scrapper. My willpower scrappers are not high enough of a level to really get a feel for the powerset outside of how it works for tanks.

/Regen is great, but if you rely on just the passive regen (as I tend to do) you will get into trouble. I always figure if I have to use Reconstruction or Dull Pain then I'm doing something wrong. I've just recently forced myself to realize that using these powers is what you do with the powerset as part of your defense.

I agree with those who say that /WP is a turn on and forget sort of powerset. But running all those toggles early on is a pain in the butt.

Now if they will only port over SS for scrappers, I'll be happy.

    No, just no.

I figure the value of the lower level TF's (Posi, Synapse) are really good to gain levels pretty quickly.

Running them as a level 50 trying to get my Notice of the Well (and huge merits to get Luck of the Gambler recipes) is a bit tedious. But they are fairly straight forward and can be run with almost any combo of ATs, unlike LGTF, for instance, where you know you will be taking on Hami and need the required power sets to handle the challenge.
  22. I'll throw m 2 cents in and say I want the War Walls taken down and have Paragon City become more like how Praetoria is. The exception would be to keep the War Walls around hazard zones and around Terra Volta.

It is so much nicer to fly around Praetoria and be able too see 2 zones away. With City of Heroes I just feel trapped in little boxes that don't relate to each other in any meaningful way

Granted this will take a lot of work and the Devs would need to completely redo the game maps. But it is worth the work.

I mean technically Independence Port, being a port should have open water like Talos.
  23. I created both a KM/Regen and a KM/WP. I stuck with the /Regen because the end usage was so bad using /WP. Of course this was before Fitness became an inherent. I was so sucking wind that it wasn't fun to play as /WP.

But I have to say that later in the game /WP really shines.

With just the 33%, I'm considering picking up Focused Accuracy just to make more of a dent in my endurance bar.

And I didn't say that it was worthless. I admit that there are some builds that it's quite nice on. But my Invulnerability tanker isn't helped significantly by the extra resistance the ultra-rare offers. If it was more inconvenient to make the ultra-rare, I wouldn't bother.
I don't need 45%. I want 45%. Seeing as I have to deal with rage crashes and all that hardship...

To be honest the 33% is fine and for rare and very rare boosts I'm really interested in the extra damage resistance.
  25. Haven't done it yet either, but I'm guessing you will be exempted down to 25 like you always are. The only real change is the double merits and getting the Notice of the Well if you have your incarnate slots unlocked.

Since issue 20 will allow you to get incarnate shards while exempted I'm not going to worry about the drop in levels. However I do feel that today is a great day to have issue 20 go live so we can get shards while running Sister Psyche's TF.
