If the 33% Endurance Reduction solved all your endurance problems, then you're probably fine stopping at Rare.

Sure, if you want Fear, Intangibility, or Sleep Duration, and more than 10% range, go for the Ultra-rare, but it's not really necessary for resistance.

The difference between a rare and ultra-rare for an Invulnerability tanker is about .6% resist Energy/Negative Energy/Fire/Cold/Toxic. It's 1.6% for Stone tanks in Granite, so that might be worth it to you. 1.3% Smashing/Lethal for Dark Tanks with Tough, 1.4% Psi.

For most builds, that extra 1% isn't doing altogether too much.

That's actually quite a bit, it frees up maybe a bit more than one slot of overslotting on Charged Armor...

so extra end AND a free slot...

meh still might not be worth it, If we had anything else to do what notices and shards right now.

i already have to 45% very rare slotted.its worth getting and before anyone says you cant have it. there was a bug on the kahn tf where it awarded 2 notices on tuesday and weds. so dont bother saying it. tons of us already have it and its still worth having

and yes i got another 1% s/l resistance added in once it went to the very rare. now my fire tank is up to 86.51% s/l resistance..im getting close to that cap!

So jealous of the cash some people have. I'd love to get Grey Pilgrim to 86% res to s/l, but I'll be happy with almost 77% after I get the cardiac rare on him. He's already quite tough at just rare levels. Heck, Lady Grey and ITF were noticeably easier with just the uncommon slotted.

I'm sure I'll be wishing for more when we hit more incarnate trials, but that's the way it's going to be.

Didn't notice this last night. Depends on what you mean by hard to get... I suppose it's easier than a purple set if you are a casual player, but you have to play a fair amount of content to get to very rare levels. It's a lot of shards and notices of the wells to make it: I'm certainly not going to take all of my incarnate characters to very rare levels. Rare will probably be enough for most of them (and some may not even get to that for a long while).

I figured the earliest anyone would have the Ultra Rare would be tomorrow, after the 4th WST was up and running. Seeing as you need 4 Notices to make it happen.

There was a bug that made people get an extra notice on a certain day/days.

I want the 45% end reduction and also the damage resistance for my Inv tank.


Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind

I'd guess pretty similar to the way I got 90% s/l res on my electric tank, only maybe with one pvp melee set.

For the record (again), a s/l res capped ele is damned tough

With just the 33%, I'm considering picking up Focused Accuracy just to make more of a dent in my endurance bar.

And I didn't say that it was worthless. I admit that there are some builds that it's quite nice on. But my Invulnerability tanker isn't helped significantly by the extra resistance the ultra-rare offers. If it was more inconvenient to make the ultra-rare, I wouldn't bother.

My planned Elec/Elec, if he chose Cardiac Core Paragon (which, you know, he wouldn't, cuz he has zero end issues; Spiritual otoh...), gets his S/L to 85.2%. My Fire/EM hits 76.8% w/the same (from his current 75%-ish, so yeah, the 4th tier is a minor benefit). So the Fire tank in question at 86.51% would need your bonuses and a bit more (like almost 5%), and that bit more is kinda hard to get since S/L res bonuses are sorta rare.

I don't need 45%. I want 45%. Seeing as I have to deal with rage crashes and all that hardship...

To be honest the 33% is fine and for rare and very rare boosts I'm really interested in the extra damage resistance.

As a Elec/SS/Mu Tanker with the Ultra-Rare, let me mention this.

I can still bottum my End Bar out.

So yes.. that 45% end Reduction was a big help.

As to the S/L res... I wonder as well at the slotting to get a FA to 86%.

I have the purple IO Shield wall +3% Res, and Ultra-Rare Cardaic Alpha.

S/L: 88.49%
*was capped but I just swapped around some stuff and I lost a bit of S/L*

If you slot the cardiac ultra rare, 6 level 50 res IOs in fire shield/tough (cardiac takes care of their endurance use just fine) and the PvP +3% res, you get 86% res on FA. Add in two PvP melee sets and an Air Burst in your epic AoE blast, and you can get to the 90% cap. That PvP stuff is quite expensive, though, so for me it's more of an long-term goal :-)

Still, going from 70% ish S/L resistance to 83% ish (The cheap/easy stuff: Rare cardiac, one Air Burst set and 6 level 50 res IOs) has already made quite a noticeable difference on survivability.

Going from Uncommon to Rare Cardiac: WOW!!!11!!!111!!!

Going from Rare to Very Rare: meh.

YMMV

Getting the Very Rare is like 4-5 times the WORK (and I mean that word) as getting the Rare. Much less benefit in comparison.

Nothing -> Common: Huge leap in performance, esp for things like Cardiac.

Uncommon -> Rare: Level shift. Again, huge leap.

Rare -> Ultra Rare: Marginal step up in performance. I'm only getting these, because... well what else am I going to do w/my 50s while waiting for more Incarnate slots to open up?

Impressive, to say the least. I wouldn't worry much about pushing past the 86% mark. Cost vs return starts to get very deminishing thier. 86% + Healing Flames makes that a Very durable Fire Tanker.
