Well seeing as how the question keeps coming up and I have a day off tomorrow (My cake day), it's time that blob of Jello got his protoplasmic hiney kicked (again).

For the moment I'm pencilling in a 13:00/1 p.m. start on Monster Island (well the heroside one). Tonight I'll be planning a strategy around what I've experienced and whatever reference material and comments I can find. Let's show this green blob we're not gonna let him sit there and laugh at us!

[/ QUOTE ]No, they aren't. The Infinity Hamidon channel once had the message "Nothing to see here" and now has a message expanding to find taskforce memebers for the high-end States and Recluse TF/SF as well as Rikti-raids.

To me there was only two problems with Hamidon before Yellow Dawn and the mass-lag of 200 players descending on the Hive. They got rid of the Yellow Dawn and replaced it with three White Dawns instead (somewhat irritating but at least they can be killed).

It was mentioned in the other thread about how the dev team would be keeping their eyes on Hami and adjusting him accordingly. The question will be when?

Union did too but after they 'fixed' the EoEs so they capped out for each AT.

Defiant took 2 hours, Union took 7 hours after the fix.

While it was fun to meet up with a group of people, the changes meant we were re-learning everything and almost all our defensive powers were nullified. Nothing is more discouraging than dying a dozen times over when such a small reward comes from it relative to the time spent.

The change has been for the worse. Instead of a more streamlined operation, Hami has been abandoned and no amount of set bonuses, slots and IOs will bring back that feeling of smashing his jelly into nothing with a hundred other players surrounding you.

And for those wondering - the Infinity Hamidon channel now has the message of the day as "Nothing to see here".

I think this would be better as a system-light idea. Given the way some competetive roleplay can go; at least a dedicated game can't bend the rules and makes for a more final decision on who the winner is.

I think what might be impossible is finding an application that will do it for free.

The original page I had made was called Intersexual and the description went "Those that are both male and female. A less derogitory way of saying hermaphrodite or herm" (you should be able to check the history). Ironically it was changed to Hermaphrodite and wiki-linked to a definition which does have a section about herm being replaced.

How about something less hero-centric like "The Ledger", "the Archive" or "Paradigm".

Also it has nukes! This is a personal thing really, but I do like seeing the effect of me launching those temp powers and it makes me think my efforts were worth it.

As for RV you do feel after a little while nothing you do makes a difference, I mean I do like how everything changes back after a while and agree that it would be horrible if it didn't, but some people may like how quickly it changes back. I'm not sure about that though, that's just me speculating.

As for farmers in RV, *hands up* I was one of them. But I'm not the type that complained when people killed me on sight because I entered the zone knowing the risks that I'd likely be attacked by everything that showed me hostile. So I'd grab my heavy, kill a few turrets, be killed by someone else as I'm rubbish at PvP, then try again.

People who resort to /b Insult/n00b/overpowered/h4x!! when they die in PvP do really put me off a zone though

I've been guilty of farming myself but if I get attacked I either run of fight. Usually it's run but the first time I decided 'not this time' after being irradiated by a corruptor in R.V. I regrouped, flew back at him and smashed him into the ground. This was with a controller though so I had a pretty big hold advantage. I even managed to tackle a brute, almost. Nearly killed him three times before he double-teamed me with another villain. Mind you, I needed the heavy to inflict enough damage on him and it was still only just enough to beat his regen/defenses.

I think another defining problem is the epics/patrons powers. Each one designed to balance out your ATs inherent flaws or boost you in a different way. My controller has self-ra in the form of Conserve power and a damage resist in the form of temp invulnerability. Most people are pretty much balanced out as soon as they get their first ancillary power. Warburg has all the moves less the ancillaries which means your AT is at its peak.

Quite a funy one which is quoted in someone's sig (between two villains I think):

Warburg has it all, Recluses Victory does not.

In Warburg there are missions, a map task (the Warburg Rocket) which gets you a temp power far quicker and you can fight anyone who stands in your way, hero or villain. It's also the only PvP zone where I can still get PvE missions inside it. Siren's and Bloody Bay don't want to know my lv50

In R.V. the map task requires a certain amount of co-operation or fast and furious involvement, making sure that heroes and villains alternate their captures so you don't 'WIN' because capturing all only nets you half the points required to obtain the temp power. There's no missions at all, it's hero vs villain only and what I think kills it - it's Atlas Park, heroes have just entered the zone from Atlas and most likely travelled through it quite a bit. I would've thought Galaxy would get some love or that it would look more futuristic but it's almost exactly the same except for Wentworths going bust, since it doesn't exist in this possible future. It's just not that engaging. The dimensional shift gets old quite quickly and there's no real consequnce for winning or losing; 5 minutes later and it's back to capturing pillboxes. Even if you do manage to get a mech it's a downgraded lv50 version, one-use only, not the uber-support, lv54 Elite Boss model.

Warburg wins because it's a free-for-all, has missions available to all qualifying levels and a map task that allows you to get up to 3 far more useful temp powers. R.V. is a cross between a mission and an arena map. It would probably work better if there were more people visiting/using it. It also doesn't help that it's the highest PvP zone either.

[/ QUOTE ]Domination and total domination work for a while, everything else is useless except...Telekenesis.

Telekenesis always hits and lasts as long as your stamina holds out. Distance is also not a problem once the power is activated unless you go outside visual range. Used it against every green I could last time and those ones went down quickly.

I'd also like to mention that Insulation Shield protects against end-drain, certainly worth considering.

If anything it'll give people a central focus for their characters.

The War Zone will be a good place for bitter rivals to put aside their differences and start working as a team. Maybe even add to the drama a little.

I do see Pocket D being a little busier though..

I had already made him and the outfit he wears is a uniform of a project he was involved in, one of those super-soldier-esque deals. Currently he's struggling with his sexual identity, his few friends trying to get him hooked up with girls but he just doesn't feel right.

To the outside world he's an average joe but inside (a part which cannot be seen) he feels a little screwed up but he carries on waiting for the right person to come along and help him understand himself better. When he does, he won't be changing his day-to-day lifestyle, he'll just be mroe comfortable with himself.
