FREAKING HAMI-RAIDS
The Hamidon seems to be sadly neglected these days - it's been made more challenging, which is good, but it's also had a cap of max 50 players on the Hive map added, which is not so good

I foresaw this coming the moment I did a Mother Ship Raid on Test. Hamidon Raids have been replaced by Mothership Raids as they're more fun, the effort = reward and risk = reward has been balanced out more and they're a damn sight easier. I think the only changes that should've been done to the old Hamidon was the "Yellow Dawn" problem. That has been rectified, but when the Mitos do respawn, everyone dies which is what most people want to avoid. If they had kept the old Hamidon, but just changed the Mito Respawn to what it is now, I think everyone would still do them.

Why bother doing hammy when STF takes less time (if you include organizing), and can be run far more frequently.
i turned up for the old hammi raids as it gave us a sense of community as a server , the new cap kinda negates the point for me as i was on the PA team i wasnt even racking up any inf
mind you these days i struggle to find time to log onto the game let alone do a whole tf with the little un calling for attention regulary
the old Hami raids were fantastic fun, I can understand the changes and the reasons for them, but its just not fun anymore. Guaranteed death, less fun, reward is availiable from the SF with much less organisation and hassle.
change it back please devs.

The problem with current hamidon is the GM grind.
I joined in my first hami raid a few weeks ago and the one comment i kept hearing was.....'don,t worry it will be much better once you have reached the debt cap you can just enjoy it after that'.
What sort of incentive is that when all 50 peeps on the team know they are going to ding half a million debt, and we did all of us. It was so hard and took so long that it had to be abandoned.
The social aspect was nice, we had a great little blaster team and in between run in's there was time to chat and make new friends....what a shame there has not been one since on our server because of (i assume) the difficulty and length of time/failure rate

A perfect example. Who wants to do something when you know you ARE going to die? Even if you are Level 50 it still sucks. Just imagine if they did an FMV for it like they did for an E3 Video where it was the Freedom Phalanx VS. Arachnos for the Crystal of Serafina. If they did an FMV for a Hamidon Raid, it'd have to show everyone dieing when the Mitos respawn. Then, it'd have to show people like Numina constantly resurrecting people. This is just my view and since I do sometimes look at the game in a realistic perspective, having to die just to do something kinda ruins it. By realistic perspective, I mean, if it was real and we did all have to die to get onto the next phase of a Hamidon Raid, it would... suck. Then again, this is just my little world that I live in.

He spawned after server reset and was in the zone permanently.
I lost interest in Hammi once they put in the farming of EoE from GMs, do much faffing about. Old hammi was case of turn up follow the raid leaders instructions, done deal.
Got to see lots of folks all had a good time and was nice to see the names of folks whom post on here going about all helping one another.
Now the only raid as of such which has that feel is the Rikti spacecraft, its more fun and folks again all join together and can get the shield down in a short time, is no farming of EoEs and is usually a lot quicker to do. And every one feels as tho they are taking part.
Ive not done a new Hammi and tbh i dont think i will. I dont raid in wow and i not a fan of raiding at all, but some how the rikti spacecraft dont feel like a raid it feels like a bit of fun for all to part in.
The hammi is old news, they maybe should have jsut left him as he was, and not changed it.
Maybe on the US of course they still hammi raiding but certainly here on EU seems to be far and few between.

I think Rikti mothership raids are more fun due to the large amount of enemies you beat. Everyone is usefull, everyone will see an affect. It feels far more involved that the old hami raids (and I assume new hami raids) where everyone just stood there/hovered there hammering a single target.
Ok the pylons can be a bit like that, but RWZ raids feel epic.
Having said that I do like Hami on the Lady grey Tf. I wish there were more "bosses" like that, taking tactics to take down.

I guess the problem is for those of us in small SGs (3 people in mine) that Hammi used to be a way of playing end game content. I could turn up at the appointed time, join a random team, chat, whack at the jelly for a while and go home with a HO and maybe a couple of new friends.
I've never done the STF, never mind know anyone that runs it on any kind of a regular basis (and would spare a space for a Kat/Regen). As such HOs are now a thing of the past for my poor scrapper
I guess the RWZ raids have pretty much replaced the old Hammi raid for many players because of this. A costume piece is a poor substitute for a Acc/Dam HO though!
So why doesn't someone do something about it? Anyone can organise a raid if they want to.
I miss the old raids too. The actual fun for me wasn't the killing hamidon part or the Hami-O, but being cramped together with allmost 200 people in one map. I miss people spamming broadcast with useless information about who was gonna get kicked out of the Big Brother house and the people spamming back to shut up. I don't even live in the UK and think that was classic.
This became the point of discussion on badgehunters channel earlier, there is a LOT of support for Hami to go back to being the fun, cooperative endgame content, and community focal point that he once was.
The current version is well... a bit pants.

The old Hami was a walk in the park - enjoyable and something you wouldn't mind doing every so often. The new Hami is like climbing a mountain - doable with some decent organisation but once you've done it you don't feel any particular need to climb it again.

Also, although it renders every shield set in the game useless except Mez protection, this version of Hamidion actually rendered an attack set useless. Who wants to be an Illusions Controller nowadays in a Hamidon Raid? I was all for the untyped damage making shields useless but making attack powers useless? No no no! And I don't even have and probably never will have an Illusions Controller so I just feel sorry for those who do choose to raid Hamidon with one!
EDIT: Ok. So referring to Illusions Control as an attack set was a bit... meh, but you get my drift. Only two powers are now useful in that set now due to Hamidon's magical ability to hit into Phased-Out Dimensions.

Has anyone actually done a successful Hamidon Raid since it was revamped in I9? I heard Defiant managed it but it turned out reather "deathly".

Defiant did do it. Everyone died rather a lot but I for one had great fun (with my illusion controller who contributed plenty with his secondary + hold and damage from his primary of course ).

I got something to say, what the hell happenend to the ha'mi-raids? I mean we all hate the ugly beast but people are complaining that the HO's are getting mad expensive, well if you don't need the HO's you can sell them for like 5 mill at least and that for like 2 hour orso if everything goes wel.
HAMI RAID NAAAOOOOOOWWWWWW :P
Peace out.
