FREAKING HAMI-RAIDS
Well, the devs did say they'd keep an eye on the Hamidon situation, and alter it from time to time, so as to keep players on their toes - no sign of that yet

probably since they made it so boring that nobody can be bothered to take him down = no data to look at! lol

Defiant did do it. Everyone died rather a lot but I for one had great fun (with my illusion controller who contributed plenty with his secondary + hold and damage from his primary of course ).

Yeah, that was really good fun. And the death was expected and planned for.
The problem with the old raid was that it became too easy. It was pretty much a guarantee that it would succeed. With the new one, it actually felt like an achivement again.
An achievement where death was a necessity. Not many people would want to something when you know you ARE going to die. Especially if you're not Level 50.

Old Hami was a walk in the park. New Hami is infinitely better but as people are suggesting could use some tweaks.
Suggesting the old Hami to be brought back is just dumb.

Has anyone actually done a successful Hamidon Raid since it was revamped in I9? I heard Defiant managed it but it turned out reather "deathly".
[/ QUOTE ]
Defiant did it in two hours.
Union did it in seven or eight hours.
I stopped leading raids because basically I couldn't be bothered any more. It was too much effort to get everyone in place for the EoE farming, and the raid was far too repetitive once we got it going.
EDIT - ^ What he said ^
Union did too but after they 'fixed' the EoEs so they capped out for each AT.
Defiant took 2 hours, Union took 7 hours after the fix.
While it was fun to meet up with a group of people, the changes meant we were re-learning everything and almost all our defensive powers were nullified. Nothing is more discouraging than dying a dozen times over when such a small reward comes from it relative to the time spent.
The change has been for the worse. Instead of a more streamlined operation, Hami has been abandoned and no amount of set bonuses, slots and IOs will bring back that feeling of smashing his jelly into nothing with a hundred other players surrounding you.
And for those wondering - the Infinity Hamidon channel now has the message of the day as "Nothing to see here".

The raid we did was good (thanks Xanth) but its not something I'd feel the need to repeat every so often.
Mostly I turned up at the old raids because it was good to have a sense of community, with nearly 200 people there they felt mamouth. Now 50 is a goodly number of people I must admit, but it doesn't feel the same. I liked the challange of it but the co-ordination means that several people have to work their butts off so everyone else can get the reward. Its not so much Risk=Reward but preparation=reward. Loads of people farming for the EoEs before hand but certainly not all 50 were there. 2 Hour raid but a couple more hours before hand not counting the time taken for those that came up with the strategy. As much as it can still be a rince/repeat strategy its too much like a WoW raid to belong in any good game.
It no longer requires too much thought cause someone's cracked it. So I'm waiting for the next hami changes before I pen myself down to attend one. Cracking it was nice, repeating it doesn't seem worth it

Bit o' threadromancy, nothing to see here.
New Hamidon only needs one major tweak in my opinino, and that's the Mito Respawn. I mean, it's what, two, three respawns? One respawn would work IMO, at least, EU side. So what if you burn a load of EoE's and die some, as soon as you've got the original Mito's down, you're halfway. Even if you run out of EoE's at some point, it's not so insurmountable to keep going.

The only good thing I see about new Hami is that it's not that easy to leech an HO
It's supposed to be harder to grief a raid now too, which was one of the main reasons for the makeover.

The social part is lost tho, which what gave meaning to Hami uttter boringness imo. Since that part is lost, why bother with it when you can do the STF, wich besides the HO it gives a fair amount of cash and a bigger fun component?
Hami raids are annoying as all hell to organize. You need so many people its no longer worth the effort. I managed to organize a Rikti Raid but that was the weekend when I10 came out and it was still hard. The Hami Raid will be a thing of the past soon.
arent hami raids 50 people max nowadays?

Yes - it's to stop griefing and improve lag problems.

Yes, but you need 50 people who will farm EoE's, stay though multiple mito respawns of death and do exactly as they are told/should do.

Gratz! And nice to see Illusions isn't useless, but still, I think they should scrap the Phase thing for Hamidon.
