Top Ten, endorsed by J-Man. Someone pinch me.
Welcome back to the active list, Tennies. -

Quote:I'm lucky I can put socks on in the morning some days. The fact that you can manage what's basically a soccer meet every few days says a lot about your competence and dedication.I'm sorry we had a bit of a delay in getting all 3 teams started. I was super tired and my brain was not up to the usual task... We had 21 people running across 3 teams, so I think it was a great success!
I say it all the time, but I mean it every time. Thank YOU for setting up these runs for the Freedom community, Luna. -

Quote:Actually, I've got quite a few friends on Union and Defiant from waaaaaaay back in the day that I'll be pleased as punch to team with their mains again.Ah. Big deal for European players, not so much for US players then. Carry on.
Looking forward to seeing them on the same battlefield once more.

Not too far from the truth. In various points in our history, we were the unofficial French server (before the EU servers came live); we were the unofficial Australian server (but that ended up migrating elsewhere). We also have a strong Brazilian population too, I see them around regularly.
And yeah, Freedom is like Thunderdome, just with better team synergy. I mean seriously, Master Blaster? Utterly failed level pact right there. -
Quote:If someone fortunes me, I'll fortune 'em back. If someone asks, I'll drop it. That's it really. If Fortune's not welcome, the player can always opt "no" for their answer.I'm curious to hear about people's tendencies with regard to fortune use.
The first big question is
"Is fortune always welcome?"
Are there some people who think the possible drawbacks of fortune (for example, I know fool can often lead to END problems on lower level characters) make it a risk they'd rather not take? Is it alright to use it in combat, or does the act of clicking on that button really piss someone off.
2nd Question
How should Fortune be given out?
Do you just always fortune someone if they fortune you? Or, since it offers a good chance of a damage boost (even if minor), does that mean you hit your damage dealers with it first? Or perhaps you just fortune anyone who's costume you like?
In a large group, do you always target whoever is first in the team menu?
Or do you use it on tanks or key team players?
Or is it just random?
I'd love to hear people's rationale, if they've thought about it, and have a perspective.
Would rather not hear from people who don't care. -

A little something to mix things up.
The Lady Grey. The world's first Incarnate to become such OUTSIDE the Well? She knows a lot about the path, and is supposedly on the same level as Statesman and Recluse. What makes HER unique amongst the great and powerful?
Don't forget Hero-1 as well, he qualified as an Incarnate before he got all Rikti'd up. A failed Incarnate? Or a suppressed one? In his position as being a Rikti puppet, does that make him MORE prone to the Well's influence? -
I have a number of toons to put thru the Incarnate arc too. I'd be down for an auxiliary night for Incarnate prep work.
-
Well, got in early today, so in theory I'll leave early.
Villain TBA, probably Rex Obscura (Crab Soldier). Thanks!
-
I will be in attendance for this. Most likely Dr. Turgenev (illusion/storm).

1. Nemesis plot.
2. I'd call that a bug. If you have a different villain who can run the same arcs (or tell us the arc names so we can test), try that. -
Sooo... anything come of this?

Quote:That's one of the few powersets I've never rolled.I never get my energy^2 blaster out because her knockback is pretty offensive to the melee guys.
Would anyone be interested in throwing together an all energy/ team maybe tomorrow? Maybe around 10pm or 10:30 eastern?
I don't recall what level my gal is at, but it's pretty low, Positron or one of those if we'd want to do that.
edited: change it from today to tomorrow, forgot about Numina tonight.I got nothin' for nrg blast... if you want a tank who's got energy melee, I can whip something up tho.
Lemme know.

Quote:Rawr, bro. Look me up, dial @Turg for a good time.Yo Turgman! wassup! hope to team with ya in game to speed through Numi, with ya! I believe [MO] not everyone would experience what I went through...but you may run into that one that says "I spotted em 1st, so"add expletive here". It's an mmo so the chances are moderate to high in that regard. But those that avoided any conflict...very good. keep up the good work!
I think what you're pointing out is a matter of perspective. If I get a chub who gets prickly on me (and they're not being reasonable), one star them, /ignore 'em, then kill their mobs 'til they /e kneel. Or don't - just move on to the next group. Both options result in the same thing (but one is more testosteronically satisfying).
Maybe the daytime players have more of an issue. I dunno.I'm almost tempted to call in today anyway... maybe it'll be an experiment. *cough* Lemme call *cough* my boss..

Quote:I disagree; zone hunts aren't the problem. Things interfering with them are. It's unfortunate if someone gets stuck with this, but I don't think the answer is to remove the objective with a sterile "kill these ducks in this room" replacement. But the OP does have a legitimate gripe: his team got hit with two zone events. Depending on when they happen to fire off, that could prevent the necessary mobs from spawning for up to 15-20 minutes each. That's not reasonable. It seems like a major design flaw in zone events (or Numina, but since the TF precedes the zone events it should have been accounted for in the zone event design).
Probably the best solution would be to replace the zone hunts with one or two door missions that accomplish the same thing.
At least in the Numina TF design, maybe giving a choice of zones for the kill would be the answer. "Arrest 20 Hellions in Atlas Park OR Galaxy City", that kinda thing? That way, if one zone is under Invasion, then an alternate zone would be feasible, but it still keeps the spirit of the hunt requisite intact. -
Quote:That, and one fair point: When COH was released, it was less than half of the current size, map-wise. With COV and Praetoria splitting the areas even more, you'll not get that same sense of "hey, get off my street!" crowdedness that we had in 2004, since those same people who would be otherwise jockeying for their shot at kills in your 'hood in Kings Row are doing it in Mercy or Praetoria. One thing WarWitch missed out on - as far as the "empty" streets, it's because the game rewards the instanced play much more. In part, anyway.
That's not a BAD thing, but it's a definite factor.
