Oh joy an already ropey and questionable power is given a kick in the jimmeys.
-
I agree, it would just be silly atm, till this is sorted the fun of 8 scrapper tf's may have to be put on the back burner. along with anything else that has "fun" and "AV" in the description.

Yes please with Troke DM/regen scrapper

So many times I have been on a team with a couple of tanks and a kheld and all of a sudden the kheld pops Dwarf and bounds upto the front of the battle when the Tanks have everything in hand, it really bugs me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Everything in hand can be different from the PoV of the Kheldian. The Kheldian suddenly spots a quant (since you're doing team-missions it can even be a boss), he had a status-effect on him, he is setting up for a double mire (ok WS only), ....
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes ok well I should of singled out quants and voids they are a pain, but still there are khelds out there who randomly change forms depending on which way the wind is blowing and that bugs me. -
My PB has Dwarf, It is very handy if the team does NOT have a tank as I can stand in, handy if the tank drops as I can jump in and handy when solo to herd as many mobs as poss for a Dawn Strike. Other than that, if the team is well built and everything is going well, there is no reason at all for me to be in Dwarf. You were right to make a point IMO. So many times I have been on a team with a couple of tanks and a kheld and all of a sudden the kheld pops Dwarf and bounds upto the front of the battle when the Tanks have everything in hand, it really bugs me.

I really enjoyed it and would like to thank everyone who put this event on, I really hope it is made a regular.
Thanks to OmegaMCX and Anath from round 1 and Captain skyfire, Mr Nice from the second, had fun in both teams even if the first one was a win by default! -
My PB is Dwarf/Human as I tried nova and found it dull, boo to the +45% damage four attacks is just not enogh for me. I stay in human most of the time and with the 3 shields, 2 heals and Light Form for those ugly times he survives very well. I have a nice attack chain but defo leave out the first power in the primary (its a pathetic blast with little damage).
I would say have ago of as much of the human stuff as poss with a view to respec but the above powers make up your core staying power. Photon seekers rock but are stupid so effective agaist a group of 5/6 at close range, or if there is only one target standing such as an AV. Dawn strike is all the fun of nova/inferno but not quite as strong so build up is a must and I don't like using it without at least a couple of reds, fellow kinetics or fort etc.
Incandesent strike is your highest damage single person attack, its melee but again with a red or two and build up you can 1 shot alot of quantum minions
I use Dwarf if there is no tank on the team, or if the human form heals are on recharge I make use of the dwarf heal.
From a PvP point of view it can be tricky, you are most effective in Light Form but only 3 mins of fun with that before you need to be running so not so good in longer 1 v 1 battles, but in a big rucus it works a treat, I tend to venture round in Dwarf so as not to fall victim to a random doms hold etc, but forget killing anything in dwarf, you really need a swift build up>IC followed by a few blasts to do the job.
Also as soon as you get Dwarf sort the bind for it out, so the bottom power tray moves across to Dwarf powers and you change all at the touch of a button
Hope that helps alittle, as I say take whatever sounds cool and keep whatever suits you sir -
Regen works very well with any of the primaries really so if it fits the concept you can't go wrong. SR I have heard is good for BS as BS's main draw back is its recharge/attack rate, SR comes with built in hasten in a way which helps combat this. However on paper I could see a BS/SR being quite end heavy. Invuln IMO is like the mule of the secondary, not much flare to it really but does the job.
So I'd say you are looking between Regen, SR or invul. I would say that SR is the purest of them (if that makes sense) I have an MA/SR and one of the reasons I went for SR was cos he does not really have powers but is well-trained in martial arts and thus in avoiding attacks. But then the same can be said for invul in a way, claming your hero is very durable.
In short I think you could explain SR and invul away more than regen, but any of these would compliment your broadsword. -
Any weekend should be cool for me, so looking forward to this

PvP for me before this event was a small part of the game, something I enjoyed from time to time, but this will change when RV is added, I love it. Cryptic you have done a sterling job, this zone has a buzz and I really hope it is as packed as it has been on test.
The fact we could roll any lvl 40 alt was a right old treat and I have tried so many new concepts.
Thank you Cryptic and Play NC for these 3 days, they have been fantastic. -

Troke would like to do it if there is still a spot? any sunday is fine and my comp is in the living roon so I can have the footie on too

My tanker is lvl 15 and only has mudpots, that'll do for now IMO but he will be picking taunt up at lvl 22. I think the tank can get away without taunt and do the job very well untill he meets an AV or elite boss, a taunt aura will not hold the agro from one of these and if you got scrappers on the team they need the tank to be taking every hit not just most of them. The tankers job is to hold agro, therefore he must be able to forfill that role in every mission. If I was leading a team and we had 1 tank without taunt I would be happy to let him do his thing untill we got an AV mish, then I would have the search screen up again looking for another tank to help him.

all I have to add is the most fun I am having on this game atm, is with my Fire/Storm

Not sure how to put this but something i've noticed is that COV seems a bit i dunno, stale or clinical to me. Kind of difficult to explain, COH just seems to have way more atmosphere. Its kinda like when all those doom clones came out, the bad ones maye had everything doom had, but they lacked atmosphere.
[/ QUOTE ]
I believe its cos CoH has alot of areas where you run into other people. The stations for one, Atlas plaza of course, the area in the Hollows by the Atlas gate, the grass out side portal corps in PI, center of Talos, the list goes on. There are often people hanging around these areas where are these areas in the CoV world? This makes people feel more detacted and as you say makes CoV feel....I dunno, detacted. Even in a team I sometimes get the impression we are the only peeps about. Maybe this was the feel they were going for, less social more every man for himself in a backstabing villainous world. -
Oh yeah, I just 3 slotted PB on my lvl 13 MA/SR with recharge DO's, and herostats shows a down time of 12 seconds, so I can fully believe now SO's cover that. Still quickness has a nice recharge on it for all your powers, and I will be sticking it in well before the 40's.

Siphon Life can leave the chain when he gets thw 32 power, I believe that's what he's talking about.
Why shadow punch over siphon life to start with? Quicker animation, quicker recharge, lower end cost, all in all more efficient for causing damage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Been taking all my advice from youand TBH is sounds right to me, also I don't use Siphon Life, beacuse why !? the heal is like 142 atm and long animation that i've died doing before, I could just hit reconstruction and have it done with.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok well if you did't like it then leave it, I'm just saying how usful I find it. Regen offers hardly any defence and thus I like to make sure my health bar is full as much as poss, Siphon Life is never gonna be instead of your heals but I find it most usfull at the top end of the health bar, keeping it at the top, that way if it drops down to somewhere near half yes you need to start thinking recon, SL has done what it can for you. The recharge is 15 seconds according to herostats, who cares about end anyway on a regen with stamina (if your going down that road) and the animation, ok well I actually really like it and think it is average considering the power is an attack and a heal. All I am trying to say is it has been a very usfull power for me, even more so in the higher lvls +40's etc, where you encounter some heavy hitters and every bit of health regen is welcome, all of this IMO of course. -
I don't know this for sure as my MA/SR is low lvl, but from what I have heard with quickness, and 3 slotted recharge in Practised Brawler, does the effect of PB not over lap? I understand it does, and thus offers perma mez res in a form that can't be detoggled, which would mean quickness would be vital asap.

The damage of Life Siphon and Shadow Punch are not that different, but LS heals you too, so why go with shadow punch over LS?
Edit, this based on LS actually being given Damage SO's, I have mine slotted 1 Accuracy, 3 Heals and 2 Damage. -
I think most has been said but I come to proclain the greatness of Life Siphon, people don't like it as the HP gain is average. However its recharge is quick, therefore as long as you use it in your attack chain it is healing around 260 HP everytime you go round the attack chain, that to me is very usful and the damage considering it heals you is good too, Troke does about 110 damage with it and 160 on average when buffed with soul drain. I don't care what anyone says it has saved me countless times, but it has to go in the regular attack chain to be effective, unlike DC which sits there till you need it.

I'd petition him then send him a tell saying I had done so, I have no time for bad attitudes in game.
