Recluse's Victory Event
I have made so far a robot/poison matermind, MA/nin stalker and En/invul brute.
The mastermind is great apart from being a double-edged sword.. On the other hand the combo of debuffs plus robots is scary destructive, I think I took down a granite tank solo in about 20 seconds.. Difficult to be sure in the pvp chaos On the downside poison is propably the squishiest MM along with trick arrow propably..
I liked playing a high level stalker as well I didnt notice that I wouldve been spotted that well, but of course hero scrappers were missing their focused accuracy there..
The brute felt a bit too weak and disappointed me somewhat. More difficult to stay alive with him than with the MM still.. hmm. None of the characters felt overpowered though. But RV was filled with scrappers/tanks
Only bug I found so far was an invisible obstacle on the pedestal behind Atlas statue.. Maybe its got something to do with the morphing of Atlas/recluse.
Spent a couple of hours last night trying a different build for my Spines/EA stalker and generally had a bit of fun...
Enjoyed some prolonged scrapping bouts with one of the many Eluded scrappers there seemed to be, and took great pleasure in using a couple of dirty tricks during the evening that had a couple of the said scrappers running...
Low point (although still fun) of the evening had to be when having taken control of a robot I managed to use it to take out the turrets on an unoccupied pill box whilst two villains kept a couple of scrappers and a tank at bay, only for a posse of heroes to arrive to gank me just as the final turret blew. Damn you pill box stealing heroes!
Well so far been playing around with a dominator and a blaster. It was a hard life being a dominator with all the scrappers around the place. Managed to get a hold of a few though and was quite fun and a challenge to play. Wanted to try out a blaster against all the elec brutes running around to see what this big toggle deal was all about and I've always wanted to play one at higher levels but just can't get myself to stick with em for some reason . Actually all the brutes went down pretty easily. Except there was one I had quite a problem getting and I didn't get him either before a group showed up and helped take him down. Didn't have to much problems with MM's though.
Don't like the heavy blaster bots and don't like all the npc's all over the place.
EDIT : Oh just wanted to add one thing, hibernation for ice tanks. Now thats a taunt power if I've ever seen one ! You finally manage to get the buggers down in health and then they just hibernate and turn into giant ice cubes and regenerate! The nerve!
I am pleased you can take out MM's, that means a reduced chance for "adjustments" to the AT. ;-)
Had some positive experiences with Bodyguard myself, PvP was kind of depressing after SC on live. But things looks much better now, on test.
I have tried to be negative about it, but so far Cryptic has not let the MM AT down. I am quite impressed so far. :-)
PvP for me before this event was a small part of the game, something I enjoyed from time to time, but this will change when RV is added, I love it. Cryptic you have done a sterling job, this zone has a buzz and I really hope it is as packed as it has been on test.
The fact we could roll any lvl 40 alt was a right old treat and I have tried so many new concepts.
Thank you Cryptic and Play NC for these 3 days, they have been fantastic.
Just got booted off the test server after the event finished :P
Had loads of fun while it lasted though and nearly filled up all the character slots.

I messed around with a couple of level 40 builds of my Archery/EM blaster, had a real blast. Its never going to have the shear SMASH value of my NRG blaster but with range mods (slotted all the single target shots Acc/Dam/Dam/Dam/Range/Range except the snipe where i put in 2 interrupt reducers instead) and boost range i was achieving some very comfortable standoff distances.
Its a very good squishy killer build plus lots of people don't seem to notice they're being hit till the last shot is animating.
Super Jump combined with the extended range also meant i could easily get in range for a final shot on any runners - even Super speeders. Always makes me grin to see a distant target drop, can almost see the [censored]? look on their face
Definitely going to finish levelling up my archer Serious good times to be had stealthing up to a vantage point over a group of villains and picking out a target for some long range justice.
Had some interesting games of cat and mouse with the stalkers that seem to orbit every large group of villains though

aye it was a great event to test out pvp build. Coming from a support class style of play, I decided to test out my current low lvl DM/SR scrapper and my soon-to-build MA/SR scrapper. I had a high lvl scrap in beta of CoH which I decided not to rebuild as he got boring. But now that I've seen em busy in pvp.. wow.. just.. wow.. such fun to be able to kill rather than hold em, keep em busy and waitin for the cavalry to arrive.
And man does DM/SR rock in RV the fact I could solo 3 stalkers, brute, dom, corr and thugs MM while eluded, thats just scary. (then again, the thugs MM makin the mistake using gangwar on a DM must make up for it soul drain ftw!)
"god, how many devs did hami have to sleep with to get ED?"

hehe it seemed so busy and so fun pvp areas when debt didnt matter

aye, with this obvious information and seeing as how they are trying to make a push for pvp on the game I wonder if they will do the logical thing and remove debt/reward from the zones and just make it about fun. I doubt it though.

Its your fault
Its your computers fault

/em agree. But hope in the end logic will preveal. We have already lost 2 of the more reputed pvp'ers in the last 15 days

I know a lot of people have been having fun trying out temporary PvP characters in Recluse's Victory on the test server and figured it would be a good idea to share some of our experiences.
Personally I've had fun with an Archery/Devices Blaster with targetting drone and three slotted range in every attack. I was blasting away from a very safe distance with my cloaking device and have to say it was a suprisingly good PvP character when it wasn't up against spine stalkers. I also briefly made a kin/elec defender with endmods slotted everywhere just to try and drain all the end out of some villains which was also kinda cool. I most enjoyed raining arrows from high above and taking down one stalker who made a really kickass dismount after I sniped him out of the sky but I was having trouble making a dent in the Masterminds using bodyguard mode. Also I appreciate the fact that the elec brutes teleporting attack has a thunderbolt coming right out of the sky, from up where I was it looked like there was a red thunderstorm approaching due to how many people were using it.
So yeah, Recluse's victory cool, elec brutes everywhere and Masterminds hard as nails.
