  1. Out of intrest, how long was the animation for form shift before this?
  2. Well, I was thinking. SoA's are pretty perfect as it, but I'm not a big fan of how...well..bland our inherent ability is.

I mean, it is nice but boring. Boring and practicle in TVTropes terms.

So I had a few ideas to spice it up a little. Make it a little more intresting.

    1) The recovery/regen scales based on what % is missing. So the lower your HP/end, the higher is your recovery. I'm thinking stick it so it is a lot better at low HP/End, worse at max hp/end so that it balances out just the same over all, just helps more when your end is lower. This should improve SoA's at low end/HP so they can run toggles for longer.
    2) Each attack now puts a stacking buff on you. When you use the same attack again in a small time window (5 seconds-10 seconds?), the stack will go and you will get some end back.
    3) Make the focus on SoA's the force multiplier they can bring. For each ally effect by an SoA's buff (Be it TT:M, TT:A, TT:V, TT:T or Mindlink), the SoA gains end/hp regeneration.

    So what do you think?
  3. Please stop comparing VEATs and HEATs. They are totally diffrent ballparks and play styles and I like that.

My main is a 50 crab spider tank. She toggles everything on, then goes off and solos GMs, AVs and runs off soloing doors on BAF, lam, etc. She is a force multiplier.

My other leveling toon is a Warshade, currently at 40. She is in constant movement, I can't look away for a second. I've got to focus on keeping my res up, switching forms to deal with mez, work out how to bunch them all up as quickly as possible, then kill them so I can nom their soul.

Kheld's don't need to be SoAs. They can stand on their own merits and playstyle. They are a force multiplied, not a force multiplier.

And the VEAT story is pretty rubbish. The HEAT one feels more...well...like you are doing something, but both of them are pretty meh. I'm kind of hoping for a revamp for them.
  4. This has kind of borked Mids for me.

-Procs have stopped counting against me (like the achilles heel -20% res) but they are still turn onable.
-Swapping power placement now blanks the power insertion bit.
-It isn't showing the full UI for enhancements any more.
-On some builds, it is showing 800-900% recovery,
  5. OK. Moved some stuff around to get you 6 slots, but mids is now bugged for me (curse the new update! :P ) so I can't do any more.

    http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/downl...8CFF02DD66F5C0

If you are patient, I'll try and work on your Mid's build, while staying in the kinda peramiters you want.

And the conflicting advice is the diffrent play styles. For example, Blueruckus is all about killing stuff. He does a super attack chain and can solo pylons.

Me? I'm a tanking crab. I've got high def, res, self healing and multiple ways to keep the heat off me and my allies, or focus fire onto me. I also run buffs to keep my team going and I tank everything no problem.
  6. Yay, I got mentioned!

    I can't say I like your build. It feels a bit...disjointed.

But if you like it, that is all that matters.

I would suggest dropping combat training offensive for a second assualt toggle, for the extra 15% damage to you, team mates and your pets.
  7. OK, wow, this feels amazing.

The form change isn't instant, there is still the animation for it, but you get access to the power instantly while you change. This is really great and some of the animations look cool too in human form.
  8. If the worse comes to the worse and she/he/it hasn't payed up by next month, I might just get the winner a commision from a friend of mine. At least it will be something.
  9. I think +1 to start with, just to get the hang of it, then I'll try it at something harder.
  10. I don't know where to start, but lets give this a shot.

    1) If you want to make TFs, use the AE. It may not be much, but for now, it is all you are getting.
    2) I want a magical pony that shoots rainbows and death. S'not likely to happen. A hero with the power to absorb powers and is an incarnate. Sounds like a non entity. A villian called Negative Overlord? Let's not even go there, before I enter snark mode.

If you really want your character in City of Heroes, wait until the new FP contest they have said or hinted about.
  11. I'm going to go try and solo an ITF as soon as the new ATOs hit and I'm getting ready now. I'm stocking up on astrals to buy ultimates and super level inspirations, collecting temp powers, and I'm going to have the hybrid melee for res or defence.

Any suggestions or anyone intrested in seeing it?

I think most people have been overly kind on your build. The slotting and power picks need serious work to justify the influence spent but it's your build so you can do what you want I guess.

I have a feeling it is the same thing with his crab build which he claims is oh so good with dozens of PvP sets in it and what not, but refuses to even tell us the stats on it.

Anyway, working on a dark/dark toon at the moment. Just wondering where to slot the ATO.

And permadom for me was a bit of a meh. I know it is meant to be the best, but I found by focusings on defence, I got 50-60% smashing and lethal resistance, 1 purple away from softcap, 50 seconds off perma dom, no hasten and the build is dead cheap.
  13. Great agaisnt psi, but their other resists don't kick in until low health, and even then it isn't more than 10%
  14. There we go. One build. Complete with incarnate.

This is a souped up version of the build I run on my fort and she is designed for hovering back and mind murdering things I don't like. I can also dip in and out for mindlink and stuff.

I've left 4 slots, incase you want to do anything with them. If not, I would suggest sticking procs in blast, subdue and then boosting making the ATO a 5 slot.

For incarnate, Cardiac gives you more snipe ability, better res from mindlink (for MoMs), and reduces all your end cost so you can blast away forever. For interface, I go with reactive for damage or cognitive for theme.

    Any questions, ask away.

  15. My personal suggestion is a hover fortuna.

You get a good single target attack chain, with a bit of AoE, all of your powers using a rare damage type and a few AoE's. Good team buffs and by hovering you only have to dash in for mindlink and your nuke, so ranged defence is important. the other stuff is less so.

So how does that sound, hover fort build?
  16. Can you please take this topic elsewhere and spoiler the builds you posted? They are cluttering up the thread. I'll take a look at the bane later, but as for Hybrid, it depends what you want. Extra defence for you, or buffing your pets.

Anyway, provided the new ATO hits in its current form, this will be my new build. Remember to add on 3-5% melee defence (3 uncatylized, 5 catylized). I've had a look at this build using my build magic, and it boosts longfangs DPA to around 124 from 94. A slight increase in general res. But the main thing is the fair DPS increase for my single target attack chain, and it lets me string togther Longfang and Chaingun indefinatly.

What I'm after more than a build is maybe the plusses and minuses of the AT and what to aim for with particular builds etc. Also any powers that are "must haves" (Mind Link) and anything to avoid.
I'll give it a shot. Give me a budget and requirements, ie no hover, some melee attacks, whatever.
  18. It seems there is a lot of insulting from some people which is uneeded.

    I've played both a scrapper (MA/Shield) and a corrupter (Elec/pain).

Yes, fire wins for pure damage and yes, scrappers can out DPS corrupters, but there are a couple of things to remember.

    1) Not every set has to be as powerful as fireblast. Yes, some sets do need a bit more oomph, but overall, not everything needs a damage increase.
    2) The mitigation or debuffs other sets provide is important when looking at them. The support aspect of a corrupter can carry over to their attacks. Look at sonic for example, or rad, or ice. All of those powers help the team by increasing their damage, accuracy or meaning they have to deal a bit less damage to do something.
    3) Other powers. A scrapper is in the thick of things, dealing damage and taking it. A corrupter can stand back and blast. This means for them, range can be surviability.
  19. Can you post your build? We can see what you are lacking and go from there.
  20. So the leaked ATOs show that some of the powers have the ability to summon a pet, in this case, the dom/controller seem to summon something that terroizes and does damage, and I was thinking, won't these be great if you used them to help revamp old powersets and improve them.

For example, the Arachnos Solider powers could have a stacking buff that lasts for a few seconds, and when you get 5 of them, they vanish and summon a spiderling pet. It would be weaker than the summon spiderling power spiderlings, but deal toxic damage and do some defence debuff.

Or electrical blast, maybe every 10th hit, up to 3 times a minute it would place an end draining patch on the ground.

Way I see it, for the blast and ranged powers, this could be a way to make them a little more unique and have something fun and unique for them.

    Downside, the coding issue, again.
  21. Trilby

    Arachnos ATOs

Yes, but remember how procs per minute work.

5PPM goes off base recharge time. 12x5=60. So really we should see no change.
  22. I grouped with Jinrazuo on test and we did a mission at x8. While he lack my survability, I can't deny he was getting more kills than me. His build is worth trying for if you can afford it.
  23. It depends. Generally I run Rebirth +max HP. I don't need the heal myself, but my pets and lore pets do and it is nice to have just in case. If I'm going up vs Arachnos and I'm doing it at x8 or something, I'll take Ageless for the defence debuff resistance and end. If I'm doing MoM or something, Barrier with x2 rez is an option.

And in this build I have no trouble with end because I run cardiac. Well, no, tell a lie, vs massive endurance drains I do struggle a little, but apart from that, I am fine. In fact, even without Cardiac I do pretty well for end so I sometimes run muscular.
  24. If Blue has his own thread, I sure as hell am.

So this character started out as a "lets try this" and quickly became my main. She is strong, able to solo GMs, tank incarnate trials and TF, ticket farm and PL, leap over a building.

She is generally a fun character to play, and I've just finished off her build, spent a few bil and I'm still tweaking.

For my single target attack chain, I can loop Chain gun and Longfang with very little delay.
For AoE, I start with venom grenade, supression, then I move into melee range to hit them with Frenzy then Arm Lash. If need be, I'll use combat jumping to move back and hit off supression, venom grenade again.

If you have any questions, shoot. I also make builds for people on request, or try too.
