What do you think the lowest setting to solo a AV should be to make it valid or acceptable ?
i usually think soloing on even level would be sufficient, if you can solo higher than even level then more kudos lol
higher lvl stuff does take significantly longer, my ill/cold can solo a lvl 51 (even con with 1 lvl shift) in approx 3 min, but a lvl 53 (+2 with 1 lvl shift) takes me almost 6-7 min

There's no consensus and I don't think one is needed - you would have to look real hard to find a build that can't cherry pick an AV to solo in this day and age.
There's also more to the act than difficulty settings. I'm not impressed by anyone soloing Chimera no matter what settings they do it on, he's really that easy.
Chimera, Bobcat, Battle Maiden, Malaise...these are all really nothing more than Elite Bosses with harder attacks and more health. I routinely get a toon to 50, fully equip them with an IO build, and then run solo to go get my Portal Jockey accolade. That's how I "fine tune" my builds. If something can't solo those four AV's on +1/+2, its not a good build. There are some that simply can't without inspirations and/or temp powers (dagger is always handy there) but that's my own personal litmus test.
Soloing any AV at even level is enough to say you've "solo'd an AV." Upping the difficulty doesn't necessarily reflect more challenge. For some builds, like an Ill/Rad or some scrapper builds, it simply reflects how much of an "easy mode" AT you are playing. You HAVE to crank it up or its just reflecting the training wheels nature of that particular AT.
Years ago, I solo'd Battle Maiden on a Fire/Fire blaster. I dumped a tray of inspirations down my gullet but that was TOUGH to make it happen and I had to constantly kite and joust to avoid her attacks. I've solo'd AV's on +4 with some of my brute and scrapper builds and didn't feel a fraction of the sense of accomplishment because, well...they are stupid-simple AT's to play and require virtually zero strategy. Just stand there and whack away.
Its all relative.
I always counted even level as acceptable.
Though, I was much impressed when I was able to solo an AV that was higher level.
I've found Silver Mantis to be the toughest of AVs, while others, like Diablolique was annoying with the personal bubble. Have yet to solo Diablolique, and Silver Mantis was a challenge!
But yeah, even level is what I always went by for AV soloing.

Gotta agree with the sentiment that the impressiveness of the deed is more about what AV you've soloed than the difficulty setting.
For example... Chimera vs. Ghost Widow. Those fights aren't even in the same orbit.

I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30)) Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.
Valid or acceptable to whom? You, your friends? Forumites?
Depends on who you are trying to impress I gather.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
In general, +0/x1 is enough for it to really count as an AV solo.

IIRC silver mantis has build up so unless you're a MM you'll probably get 2 shotted
I soloed Silver Mantis on my sonic/archery defender, even leveled. I didn't see what the big deal was; just stay out of thorntrops and you're good.

Do AE AV's count or are they as hard as their normal versions?
I'd say "Whatever makes you happy." Valid or acceptable to who, after all? If it's someone else saying your soloing of an AV isn't "good enough," they're little punks who deserve a good kicking. If you're trying to judge what others do? Well, guess what....
Since it has been asked a few times I will say only that I have an odd build that some might call "gimped" that I would like to test out against AV's. I would assume when your a villain fighting a NPC labelled "Hero" its the same thing.
But thanks for the responses. Going to start testing this out and taking some screen shots.

I agree with Bill. I've done it and decided it wasn't worth my time. If it makes someone else happy, that's good, it should be in the game. More options for FUN is a good thing.

Just wondering what the consensus is about fighting AV's solo and what the lowest setting should be. I would image 0/0 should be the appropriate setting and anything higher should be extra kudos bonus points.
But always curious what other think.
