Wait what?
How does WM do more dmg, BA have better mitigation? Shouldnt that be reversed. Since Clobber got its DPS raised, WM should hold title for both,
JJ
[/ QUOTE ]
Mace is slightly better in both areas since the above mentioned buff (love castle), and the reason they're not talked about around here is because they're weapons, and redraw hampers Fury. ;]
[/ QUOTE ]
redraw is a myth, doesn't exist, the attacks take the same amount of time whether the attack animates the draw or the weapon is already out. that being said, WM is teh awesome sauce. -
i am a weird hybrid player
i use the numbers above WASD 1-5
and the second tray numbers ALT1-ALT5
but that's about as far out as i trust my left hand, beyond number 5 i click the powers in the trays. but it works well for me.
i've just recently hit 50 and made 2 Khelds, so coming up with an easy way to switch between power trays for different forms is becoming increasingly difficult. and since i can't be bothered to learn macro's and bindsi setup the different forms on trays 6 and 7 (or whatever the last two normal numbered trays are) and cycle thru the first slot when i change.

I can't be 100%, however im almost positive its been done before. However, instead of wasting alot of money on damage bonuses, I recomend stacking recharge to where AM and Hasten become permanent, then picking up Assault. Manaing that will get you +40% or so damage at all times on its own.
[/ QUOTE ]
we'll see how cost effective that is, i haven't quite figured out how folks make hundreds of millions in this game yet, i usually end up around 50mil for a lvl50 ish toon. and i was hoping the +dam recipes would be cheaper then the +rech.
but getting AM as close to perma has always been part of the plan, how can it not be? AM is the green glowie goodnes that i can't live without
since it doesn't seem like anyone here has a build to share for this, i will attempt to muddle my way through it, and when i'm done i'll post it and let you guys know how it worked out. -

here's mine:
My Work Bench
Okay, that might be a bit confussing for you to look at, so I'll issolate the systems:
My Work Bench (Highlighted)
The Red box on the wall is where my 15" LCD media monitor used to hand, right up until it burned out about a month ago (Oh well can't complain I bought it for $5 and it lasted 3 years.)
The Red high lighted system in the corner is my media server... basically useless right now with out the monitor.
The Purple system is my Media production system, where I've got Adobe Premier, Sony Vegas pro, Office, Audacity, Adobe Photoshop and the rest of my media producing mumbo-jumbo loaded.
The Teal system is my gaming rig. That's what I've Got CoH loaded on.
The Keyboard is a Logitech G15 Gaming keyboard (LOVE IT btw), the mouse is Logitech G5 gaming mouse.
And just to answer any question that may be raised about it, no. I do NOT have one monitor per system. I have 1 monitor (The LCD on the left) hooked up for my gaming system, and I use both for my media production system:
Yup, I have a Split screen for one system.

Torroes, ya know, it's almost exactly as i pictured it in my head... odd.needs more "geek approved" stuff, i don't think you have hit absolute saturation.

I think the questions posed are EXCELLENT. I am willing to wait for official word on what all of Going Rogue is really about, but these are things that will need to be answered no doubt.

WILLING TO WAIT?????
you my friend are one slack*** , pathetic excuse for a psychotic gamer.
we will simply kidnap a dev (doesn't matter which one, just one we can make talk) and take the thumb screws to him. he'll talk, we'll get all the good infos before everyone else!!!11!!!
now.......... how do we lure one of the devs out of their hidey holes???? cake? cookies? PIE??? -
ok i figured i could get my rad/rad up to some serious damage with the correct power choices and slotting.
with EF doing it's magic, AM's 30% or so damage bonus, the achilies heel proc in most of my attacks, and assault running i coud pump out some decent def damage. question is (i'm an IO newb) has anyone built io sets for +damage as the main focus, and if so, could you provide an idiot with a simple guide?
and if anyone HAS done this, how does it work out? -
to the OP,
if $15 a month is too much to swing, i would make the assumption that any free time you have would be better spent making more money. really, it's a pittance in the grand scheme of things, and if you can't swing it, that means you shouldn't be wasting time on mmo's. you should be working on furthering your career. -
yeah, sounds like, on vill side, that you want a corruptor.
/Dark and /Rad are awesome, can't argue and you would want to avoid /Kin. It's a great set, but not good for sitting back and blasting/buffing, it's mostly melee range, so sounds like it's out. that being said, make whatever the heck sounds cool to you, forget the specific power set recommendations on here (even though i agree with them), if you play something that you think is cool, it will be cool to play. but come ack and let us know what you made and how you like it -

I have a feeling they aren't going to announce it until they sort out everything with the MA. It is possible (based upon no ones opinion but my own) that they want to set it up so MA content is not subject to double xp, but that would take work to implement, and may take time (due to lower priority). Keep in mind this is all speculation on my part.
[/ QUOTE ]
speculation, yes, but logical speculation. i feel the same way, they have obviously put thought into MA in that regards, as patrol xp doesn't count, so i would assume that MA won't give 2xXP. -

Assuming everyone that is WP has Combat Jumping, Weave, and that Steadfast thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, even without those, it still functions as 3.5% (+0s) to 1.68% (+4s) defesne to enemies hit by it. People spend would spend good money for that much defense.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah, and if you mix it with DM, well, lets just say, not much touches youi was always a tank/def player, couldn't get into scrappers, tried to play them like tanks and they died. but a DM/WP scrapper plays pretty much just like a tank, and is quite awesome, he's my new favorite toon
-
the important question is, has it been added to i15? when the beta went live i thouht they said the buff wasn't in there, has this changed? i was really looking forward to the buff, and made two new doms, hopefully the added the buff to i15.
-
ok, i know folks will tell me that EA is garbage and in need of another boost, but i play for themes not uber builds. But that being said, i would still like to maximize my toon to be the best he can be, which i'm guessing would mean adding as many typed defense bonuses from io sets as possible.
question is, what sets, what pools, etc? anyone build a EM/EA that turned out great near the end? does the EM help you waste baddies before they crush your rather squishy skull? any input would be appreciated. -
last year around this time of year when the weather got better, i decided i would play on my balcony, so i wouldn't have to take the occasional smoke break (my usual reason for AFK, but usually in between mish's). well, i wasn't paying attention and the ash on my smoke got really long, PLOP, right in my lap, which i didn't notice until my shorts were on fire.........
i had to go AFK for flaming groin -
this obviously looks like a respec build, and honestly, at that point a WP/EM tank needs almost nothing to be a ST monster. when mine got to the upper 40's i dropped WH, i found i rarely used it any more, taunt taking it's place as the main aggro grabber, then focusing on SMASHING a single target until it's "defeated" and moving on. honestly, i don't think you can do much wrong with a WP/EM at this point, it's just that good.

I'd first suggest you make your post title informative of your actual question.
"Ill/Rad's best blaster buddy?"
Illusion will do Psionic damage, Rad will debuff opponents and accelerate your ally. An early pet group of the Phantom Army will act as aggro-control and DPS as well.
A mental blaster may take advantage to the lack of resistance to most enemies against psi. However, if you find yourself against a psi-resistant enemy, you'd be in trouble.
An ice blaster has some holds and slows, allowing more containment and control versus tough enemies, and can still do damage. The blaster could swing between control and blast behaviors based on your opponents, or even use dual builds with that in mind.

in response to your very first line, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!
the "OBAMA" hook was brilliant. here's to being creative in your posting -

This could be power customization, where you can change the appearance, colour, or animation of a power in use. Power customization is on a lot of player's wish lists, for certain.
You've got some very evocative names there, and probably some really good ideas on what the animation would look like.
Unfortunately, the staff have limited time and resources, so they cannot do everything, and have to pick the best return on their investment. They've already said that power customization would be very difficult to do.
Creating another fire-themed set would probably be lower priority than proliferating existing ones, or creating a completely new powerset with minimal thematic overlap with existing ones.
"Everytime I get a good idea, someone brings up the budget!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Champions online will have power customization, so it may not be that its too hard.
Its that now adding it 5 years after the release it would be like taking pong and adding lazer guns into it. You have to learn all over again, and they don't want to make you learn all over again another menu.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually you may want to check this post from BaB about how hard power customization would be before you make statements on that.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat....part=1&vc=1
[/ QUOTE ]
BaB's quote not withstanding, the adding of customizable animations (in that you have a 2-3 optional animations per power that the devs port) is doable, maybe not with current manpower and scheduling, but doable. think of it this way, the animations on a bunch of powers are shared, in the context of the skeleton/frame animations, the "power effect" is changed based on the set it is in. Barrage in energy melee, stone fists, frozen fists (i thinkk thats the name), and wherever else the double light punch animation is used is obviously the same animation, just with different effects added, the stone, ice, pom pom's. adding the "fire" effect would be RELATIVELY easy, in comparison to creating all new animations.
net result being, power= fire sword, avaiable animations 1) firesword, 2) double fisty firey thing, 3) flaming foot/ kick animation (that one is just silly, but i would soooo use it). allowing the player to choose from a limited selection of animations when the power is selected/respeced.
i am making no assumptions of the ease of this modification, just the relative ease of doing it that way as opposed to creating whole new skeletal animations. and i for one would be thrilled to have that option. -
personally i like the idea, i don't hink there is a problem with tankers now, i love the darned things, but i wouldn't complain if they added a +dam buff
it's like my macer, i loved the toon before acemace got the damage boost (i do give him ALL the credit, don't question me). but the toon is completely insane now....... YAY -

Right now, I'm enjoying Kin/NRG way more than I probably should be.
Pewpewpew + 25% permanent damage bonus + permanent travel power and recharge bonus at an early level = win!
[/ QUOTE ]
this is one of my favorites (i'm still a sucker for rad/rad though), this combo plays well, with /NRG's KB helping with the lack of mitigation in KIN/, and it works thematically, which i know isn't important to everyone, but it's the meat of the game for me. -
despite the speed supresion, there is the +stealth factor of SS to consider, which may be helping her more then having SS on in a fight is hurting. just a thought.

tuesday, June 37th, FTW baby!!!!! -
tanks are my favorite AT, my first 50 was a WP/EM, who is a ST god, got most of the standard combinations of primary and secondary in the 25+ level range, and i lve all of them.
but if pressed to put the "favorite" tag on one, i would say my FA/WM, i made him before the boost to WM damage, hoping that FA would make up for the anemic mace damage, now, with mace being the awesomsauce that it is, he has become an AoE monster, to rival my fire/fire tank. besides, his concept is cool -

Controllers:
-Have a Support secondary that adds no offense, but can add considerable defense
[/ QUOTE ] I disagree. Power like radiation infection and fulcrum shift(just to name a few) add tons of offense.
[/ QUOTE ]
well, if we are being technical, those two don't add offense, they add effect to offense, but by themselves add nothing.
semantics, i know, but it seemed like the game you wanted to play.
