Thanks also for the advice. i'm making a DM/Regen after getting my tank's BUTT handed to me today in PVP. Wasn't even remotely close.

...Best be suited for PvP? (Keep in mind I'm generally TERRIBLE at PvP, so this will be a new venture for me)

Other toons (most in or close to 30's):

Widow


Any advice w/ what I'm working w/ would be great. Would any be worth PvP'ing with? If so, which and why? If not...what's the FTM AT? Like I said, I'm not great at the PVP play, so I need as much of an edge w/ build as possible.

I've given that one a LOT of thought, and I think +Recharge would break the game. It would REALLY break it. This is IMO.

I know the first is scrapper like, and the second is a ranged control freak, but from the people who have one at 50...which do you find more enjoyable.

Also, anyone have one of these as their favorite villain?

I ask, because I haven't rolled one yet and played it beyond lvl 5 or so. Didn't have time w/ other projects. Now I'm thinking of going with one, but not sure if I wanna start lvl'ing one up to 50. Fear of disappointment I suppose.

TL'DR: Do they solo well? Are they powerful?

I have an NRG/NRG brute that can solo Lord Recluse on hardest setting. He's all about single target fighting, so once the little helpers drop from the sky I had to AoE them down fast, but I was toting a full fury bar, so didn't take long at all.

I don't know how much I have in him, but every set is geared towards recharge redux (Don't have any Luck of the Gambler yet either)

The reason I'm able to do it I think is my End Drainer. It fills my end back up, and protects me from LR's end draining.

I cannot however solo GM's. They wreck me.

Thanks for the positive input. I agree they shouldn't be the top tier one, only the first two.

I like the idea of dual ones also. But, you should add the Rez/Unstun. That one would be MARVELOUS.

If you want to DEAL a lot of dmg, especially to AV's and hold your own...we're talking single target here...I'd recommend NRG/NRG. Have that on my brute. Against 15 or so mobs, I will die usually to streakbreaker, but vs and AV....I can go toe to toe usually.

Didn't know where else to put this, but I think it would be AWESOME High end content if there were inspirations (Chicklets) you could buy or make that would be like eating one of every kind of inspiration all at once.

I think this would be awesome for a few reasons:

1) It could be another item to farm and sell on market place ( for those that like this kinda thing)
2) basically makes your inventory WAY more effective and efficient.
3) when you lvl up, you could get one of these, instead of one of each
4) Could give high lvl characters a leg up, AND make PVP waaaaay more dangerous.

Just an idea I had today. Sorry if it's in the wrong place, couldn't find "General Ideas" area.

Willy Nilly? On five different occasions I was asked for Various differing pieces of "proof" some were crazy like my activation code on the game that I originally purchased. Yeah, that box is LONG GONE. Or my last 4 digits of the credit card that was used to pay for the startup...again, LONG GONE and also...not sure I'd give that info if I had it.

The point was, they weren't helpful, or providing any useful suggestions that were in the realm of reason.

I'll note there was NEVER any problem w/ the NCSoft taking my money, or logging into the game itself. Oh, and they would update my e-mail on that side of things to ensure I knew my account expired so I could renew it. ::rollseyes::

Mainly I'm posting this in the OFF chance a mod sees it and forwards it to Customer Service to let 'em know how thoroughly UNacceptable I felt their level of assistance was. Apparently was pretty simple to make it possible for me to login again.

Back after a LONG absence, and just got my Fire/Kin to 50. Hoping to swap him to Hero side and replace an unplayable, unfun defender who is kin/electric.

The question is, What would be a good Solo'able/Farmable build for this toon. Team play is simple (Give him Speed Boost, Fulcrum Shift, Transference, and Transfusion) Duh, your team build is complete. LOL

But, Having some trouble speccing out what PP's to take to round him out for solo play. Any advice from the ones in the know would be grand.

Oh, if you do decide to go w/ one, here's a powers list I went with. No slots, as he's not even worth the time to login and see what he is anymore. I do know I took lots of KB recharge redux sets. They're cheap and you can stick 'em anywhere. (The dunce hat ones)

Sorry, just realized I have access again to the boards. Wish I would've seen this earlier. If you want survivability DON'T take /EA...or any +DEF set for that matter. +RES is about 10 times better. My first brute was EM/EA and he's 50. I never login w/ him anymore. Just don't. NO fun dying to streakbreakers w/ mass numbers of mobs, that any decent +RES brute or tank can survive.

Yep. I was let down IMMENSELY by the lack of people. I had very limited hours of play, and Justice didn't seem any more busy than usual. Don't get me wrong, the XP boost was grand, but if it was supposed to draw bigger server populations, it failed.

I'm still wondering why we have so many servers w/o consolidation yet?

Oh, and Friends of mine were VERY busy playing on the Aion playsession this weekend.

I'm glad the new Forums are here. Here's why:

I was playing this game since Beta. RABID fan. Played upon release for almost 1.5 years. Everyday. Posted a lot on the Forums.

Took a LONG time away from the game and when I returned my Password wasn't correct for Forum access. I tried to get Dev's or Customer Support to reset it. NEVER EVER happened. For over 2 years now I've been trying to get the PW to be reset to be able to post on boards. Old E-Mail account that was linked to board account had been long since deleted (Thanks Yahoo) and the Customer Support REFUSED to help. Saying I'd need more rediculous proofs re: who I was than applying for US Citizenship!!!

Anyways, it's nice to be back, but I'm still miffed at Customer Support's inability to fix SUCH a simple problem

I'm terrible with numbers, so could someone help me out? With what I'm reading so far, I'm guessing that my FF/Dark Defender will never be hit again....not sure. So, could anyone who understands this give me a rough idea what these powers would mean...numbers wise?

This is a good tip; however, I would change one thing. As it is, when you press the key that starts the demorecord, it will overwrite the previous demo.cohdemo file you demorecorded, unless you rename it after each recording.

I actually don't specify the filename completely in my demorecord bind. I have it set up like so:

Or, for a City of Villains character, I use CoV instead of CoH.

That way, you'll get the demorecord command with a prefix to the filename on the chat command line, and you can type something to complete it and make it unique.

For example, sometimes I'll see a cool animation. Yesterday, I saw an NPC rolling a barrel and thought, "Hey, I can use that for something, I'm sure!" I hit shift+[, which brought up demorecord CoV on my chat command line, typed Barrel to finish it and pressed enter, then hit shift+] to stop it. Now I have a file called CoVBarrel.cohdemo that I can munge to get what I want, and I was ready immediately to record another demo file without switching out to Explorer and renaming the old file if I wanted!

While I'm happy this is happening (My lvl 38 Brute who is /EA thanks you) I'm concerned w/ what it means.

Per his words, +5 mobs will be treated as equal lvl mobs????

Equal level mobs do NOT hit me, so that means a +5 lvl mob will NOT hit me which means next the DEVs will have to add higher lvl difficulties for missions beyond Relentless.

Then Cryptic and NCSoft need new lawyers. I worked for Wal-Mart in electronics for several years, and when we got product in it had a release to floor date for ALL software, music, and games. If we put it on the floor early we were liable to suit, and could lose permission to carry any merchandise from said company in the future as well as litigation if they chose for poor customer service. Sorry States, but this is probably the dumbest statement I've ever heard you make.
