SOOOOO glad the EU finally gets a contest all of their very own. They deserve it, that's for sure. And those prizes are no slouch either.
I just hope some NA chizz tosser doesn't come along and yap about it being EU-Exclusive... -
I think you can even buy them online and have them shipped to you... which might also apply to Time Cards for CoH... not sure on that seeing as how I don't have any of these weird "not in that country 'for real'" issues.

Do we even know that Praetoria is IN America?
Also, those badge descriptions COULD be stories cooked up by Cole and fed to the people. I.E. they are the common understanding of what is going on, but may not be the truth. If you have done any of the Loyalist Power arcs you KNOW just how often TPN broadcasts crap that is totally not the real story.
I would say that the OP's "concept" is pretty far afield of what could really be happening at the present day... unless his character is like 53+. -
That's all well and good... but the Rikti just turn them off every time they invade. Not much of a solution if you ask me.

For me, there are two ways to do a psi melee set: like Ermac/Kensi's special moves of tossing folks around with their minds, or like Psylocke and manifesting weapons made of psionic energy. Both are viable in this game... and the first could have longer animations so that might be the winner

Quote:This.Considering that any player that only uses Preatoria as a starting zone can't create an EAT even if they've unlocked them, I don't see it as an issue.
PLUS, there needs to be SOME reason for people to still play in the regular CoH/CoV zones so that existing characters <20 will have SOMEONE to play the game with. -

There are capes available through Booster Packs and as Vet Rewards that one can use from Level 1 up.
(Also the Valkyrie Cape... to add to your list Tyme.) -
Your concern is a valid one, it just seems like some people are getting just a tad too hung up on it.

Quote:Odd, I would count that as an example of you being wrong... An external source made a one-time change to a power, aka, it got buffed. Turrets do not have external sources making them hit more, they just DO. AKA, they are not to-hit buffed, they just have a better chance. Give it up. Arcana was right, and it doesn't really matter.Even if I was insufferable enough to engage in a pointless debate about semantics, you'd still be wrong because believe it or not, certain words can be used in a different context than usual. Elements in game mechanics can be "buffed" and it doesn't exclusively refer to applying a power on something.
Didn't Fiery Aura and Martial Arts get buffed recently? what do you mean it wasn't done through a permanent power that increases your to-hit and damage

No you can not. You can only claim three total respecs from trials no matter how many times you do them. Likewise, you may only have a total of three of the Trial badges (3 hero, or 3 villain, or 2 hero 1 villain, etc.).

Ummm, aren't the vast majority of Spidey's rogues gallery animal-themed?
Agreed. But then, I thought the majority of that movie was crap. The only redeeming quality was seeing Kirk in his underwear... and that only lasted like 4 seconds, so base your judgment on that.Quote:I kind of... have to go with the villain in the newest Star Trek film from JJ Abrams. The story needs him, obviously, but he just sits there and looks brooding, then moves suddenly and stabs people or blows up Vulcan. Sure, there is a barebones motivation given to him, but he's just not given enough screen time to feel villainous. Want a good villain? You have to make him one: not just give him some quick mean things to do.

PM a Dev and see what they say. If something cool gets made for the Droid... I would use it, might even buy it if there was a small charge for it.

Most of that stuff should be routed through Ny... she is the closest thing to a GM we have, but remember that the physical character for Amira is "piloted" by Nox, so you might wanna give him a shout too.
Also, you may want to wait until you run the AE arc we are doing... depending on how it plays out, Amira may just get hers there. But it depends on what you think Wylde would do. I know there is a LOT of hostility around, toward Amira, toward the Edge of Chaos, toward Nox and his "new" personality/S.O., etc. And Nox and I plan to work some of that out in the arc, or at least a bunch of it.
And I was sooooo sick of battling Clockwork that I couldn't even begin to think beyond punch... punch... click heal... punch. I was gone for most of the session myself. I think a little diversity in the next play session or two will help.
On a personal note, I am starting up my second internship soon for my grad. school program and am not sure how that will impact my time. We shall see, just a heads up. -
Ultimately, I don't see how the corruption of the frames themselves matters much... it is the things under the frame that are being judged. As long as you can get them open (and it seems most can... they just look crappy) then I dunno that there really IS a problem.
What you guys should test, is whether saving the file with your screens in it and then re-opening it will have any adverse effects on the actual screenshots or not. If it doesn't, aren't you still golden? Just a thought. -
Quote:Yes, implement this OR Techbot's idea. Would be a huge QoL thing for me (and many others). That does not have a progress bar. It would be similar to the Fire Fighting badges, that require both fires and hellions. After you beat the Hellions you have a sliver left, and seems like you will never get it, because you still need 20+ fires to put out.
Badges like this should be like accolades. A badge for the Hellions Arsonists and one for the Fires. In the case for Vandal, each item should be it's own. -
I recieved a PM from the OP asking this same question (verbatim) how is it that I was asked about it when I don't know the OP from Adam, and I had yet to post to this thread?
(I answered the question BTW, but was nonetheless confused.) -
/bindloadfile_silent will do the same thing... but without the line in chat. Just FYI.

Steel Shaman, I think you hit the nail squarely on it's head there. Good post!!

I fought the ag, and the, ag won...
I fought the ag, and I kinda won...
a da da da, a da da-da
Okay, I suck that wasn't gonna make anyone augh, was it? -
I would play it. It seems like an interesting combination of Sonic and Rad with a enough unique to make it cool. I am not a numbers guy, so I can't say much about that... but I certainly like the idea.
Perhaps you could call it something simple like "Swarms" and then have selected power customization options: insects, nanites, magic entities (not sure what that would be like), etc. This would require some of the powers be renamed (*= suggestion): Healing Swarm*, Guardians*, Consumption, Stimulation Swarms, Direct Modification, Power Leechers*, Miasmic Cloud*, Increased Efficacy, Directed Barrage*. -
I am posting a link to this thread, over in the Re-Design thread for those interested. By the way, cool idea Naz. (Also, there is a link to the Re-Design thread in my sig.)

Quote:I guess I still don't get it. For me, "endgame" is what I do when a character hits 50: focus on a different character. It just doesn't makes sense to me to continue playing a character that has no powers to gain, no levels to earn and having a good deal of the content you wanted to do... done. Granted, I have gone back to two of my 50s quite a bit: to gather badges, but that means I pull them out for a few weeks after each issue and get the badges I can, and then shuffle off to my other characters. I mean, I do have 20-some characters that I am actively rotating among. What is this "I still want to play my 50, so I demand more things to do with a character that is otherwise done" stuff? The "Endgame" does not refer to "finishing" the game. The idea behind the "Endgame" in MMO's is that people want a way to continue to play the characters they put their (figurative) Blood, Sweat, and Tears (Or, in some peoples cases, phat stacks of paper) into. The "endgame" can consist of high level raids or other activities that can give the player a way to feel like they are making some kind of progress, even when they are no longer gaining levels and have exhausted the "normal" content.
This mindset also comes from games like other mmos, which don't really "begin" until you hit Max Level and start doing raids and other "endgame" content. -
Another important point regarding whips and their use in game is the fact that the whip is a particle effect and NOT a weapon (i.e. it goes away when the power ends). This was done to make the entire process easier (it might have been impossible otherwise, but I am not sure on that, so I will not say that was said). AKA, if a whip set was made, it would not technically be a weapon set, and would still have to be a fire whip or posion whip or energy whip of some sort.
