I told my brother about the ability to play for free, and he's finally decided to give the game a shot, the one question is, is it free only in terms of monthly subscription?
I mean, does he have to buy the box or anything like that?
If not, where would he go to get the game? -
Quote:I'd add Bullseye.Every major hero has its major villain... a good list would be...
Thanos (Adam Warlock)
Dr. Doom (Fantastic Four)
Magneto (X-Men)
Red Skull (Captain America)
Kang (Avengers)
Ultron (Giant-man/Ant-man/Avengers)
Baron Mordo (Dr. Strange)
Dormammu (Dr. Strange)
Loki (Thor)
Dr. Octopus (Spider-Man)
Green Goblin (Spider-Man)
Mole Man (Fantastic Four)
The Mandarin (Iron Man)
The Leader (Hulk)
I dont see Galactus as a villain... too cosmic...
but if you go over the major hero list you will automatically find the arch villain to go with it.
I'd also remove the Red Skull, I've always hated him. The Nazi villain thing is tired and played out, but that's just, like, my opinion, man. -

The Immortal Iron Fist series by Brubaker / Faction / Aja totally rocks. Have you had a chance to read that series?
No offense intended. I'm a longtime Daredevil fanatic, and I hear the same comments about my beloved Man Without Fear. -
lol @ Iron Fist
I'll never understand the love for this character. He's been at the top of my "lame list" since I first started buying comics in the mid 80s.
And just to be clear, he was an even bigger joke then than he is now. -
I've actually been reading a good non-fiction book about this called, "Long For This World: The Strange Science of Immortality" by Jonathan Weiner.
It's pretty interesting the things they're doing, and the author does a fairly good job at explaining complicated biology and chemistry so that ********* like me can understand it and still find it interesting. Check it out if anyone is genuinely interested in the topic. -
Years ago, before SVU, he was back here in DC visiting family, and he got into a huge barfight. The cops came and threw him in the paddywagon. They put the guy he was fighting in the same paddywagon right across from, and they were still trying to kick each other, even though they were both cuffed up.

I always said that Arrested Development was one of those shows too smart for the general public. The subtle humor was hilarious. From Ron Howard's narration, the fact that they replaced Henry Wrinkler midway through with Scott Baio, Carl Weathers' self-depricating role, etc.
Abraham Higginbotham, one of the creative minds behind Modern Family, was also behind Arrested Development.
I also think WKRP still holds up.
"These phone cops play hardball, man!!!" -

Quote:Is this your way of trying to relate to modern times? You sound like your typical mid-life crisis guy.Myself, being an old school comic dork, it always frustrates me when Hollywood gets its' claws in a comic franchise because they never seem to keep it simple. They always have to change something because some fool in a suit, who has most likely never read a comic book to begin with, believes the show or movie won't work as portrayed in the comics.
95% of the time the suits are wrong.
Sadly this time I believe the suits are right.
As much as I wish the red, blue and gold suit would work and the original comic storyline could stay intact. . .their time has passed . . .at least for a weekly television show.
As I approach the age of 40(yikes), I have seen most of the things I enjoyed in childhood change, from re-vamps to re-writes, to a complete disavowing of previous work.If it takes a tweek of story and history to get Wonder Woman on the small screen, then go for it.
Let me put it this way.
Smallville.
Smallville is the biggest turd ever dropped on television. It has also survived for 10 years thanks to an attractive cast who do a good job with the complete manure that is written for them, and a very loyal fan base.I watch it every week.I have seen every show.I watch Smallville for the small, tiny moments that get it right. They are few and far between but they are there. Those moments make it worth it to watch, and make the rest of the time watching bearable.
I am hoping for the same thing from Wonder Woman.
A final comment to those jokers who posted that Palicki didn't quite "measure up".Lynda Carter is one in a trillion.Beauty, grace and class . . .they just do not make them like that woman anymore.
Adrianne Palicki is not exactly lacking in the "asset" department either.Get stronger glasses or maybe put the bottle down for a bit.Or maybe do both.
Instead of wasting your time watching this show, go buy a corvette and get it out of your system. -
Quote:Reminds me of that Bruce Lee statue being put up in that town in Bosnia because it was the only person that the Croats, Serbs, and Bosnian could agree on.Just what is not needed. Nothing against Robocop and I'm sure it will be a great looking statue......but still.....

I'm sure it will have Will Smith. He loves destroying sci-fi movies.
-
- She won't be wearing the costume
- She's massively de-powered
- She's going to use high tech gadgets
This isn't Wonder Woman. If they'd come up with some sort of superheroine vigilante show and called it something else I would be interested. They could have made her the Huntress or something, but this isn't Wonder Woman.
All they wanted was to hijack the name. **** them.
I'd hoped DC had learned their lesson after Catwoman, but I guess not. -
They must suck at drawing age then, because that Cheshire looked no older than the rest of them.
-
I've shared my love of superheroes with my daughter since she was born, she loves them, too.
However, down at Disney World a couple of months ago, she got to do the Jedi Training Academy at Hollywood Studios and she fought Darth Maul. She immediately went to make her own lightsaber. We already had one at home, but now with two, there's a lot of fighting between my Jedi daughter and her Sith dad. -

Quote:Well, this...Eh, I for one am willing to wait to learn more before assuming a very early "one sentence" summary of the show has nailed exactly what it's all about.
Sure it could end up being as crappy as that sounds, but it's really way too early to know for certain. All I'm saying is that I've seen plenty of shows I ended up liking that didn't sound so hot at first. *shrugs*

doesn't exactly reassure me. -
I've aways said the mere fact that Batman was a rich WASP that put on a mask and went into the city to beat up criminals made up the most un-PC of heroes.
That article is BS, though. -
Quote:The early Robin Hood ballads didn't make any explanation as to his class origins, making him a noble is a later thing. After all, Robin Hood, Green Arrow's inspiration, was an English aristocrat who didn't forget about the common folk in his crusade against corruption. Batman's is a drunken Viennese partygoer with a grudge.
The most recent one with Russell Crow has him being a Yeoman, which makes more sense given his signature weapon. A yeoman is certainly not an aristocrat. -
Quote:Why even bother to call this Wonder Woman?UPDATE: “Wonder Woman” has lassoed a network!
The background of it makes me hate it already. vigilante crime fighter in L.A.? WTF! Gus?
This is proof that DC can't work with Hollywood to make good representations of their characters, outside of Batman and Superman, and even that is hit or miss. -
He's one of those actors I can't stand. Almost made Inception unwatchable for me.
-
-
I'd be willing to bet that either Will Smith or his kids will be involved in almost all of these.
-
I imagine that's Han's future in the Star Wars Universe. That woman right there, nagging the **** out of him over every little thing.
Perhaps I'm just projecting.
