God i hope not. Is it even confirmed that Lex will b in this one? I'm sick of Luthor altogether.

I agree with you 100%

I like him as an actor. Outside of SVU, he's a pretty funny guy, too. I wonder who he will play. Metallo? Brainiac?

Years ago, before SVU, he was back here in DC visiting family, and he got into a huge barfight. The cops came and threw him in the paddywagon. They put the guy he was fighting in the same paddywagon right across from, and they were still trying to kick each other, even though they were both cuffed up.

If they have every intention of having Superman not chase after Lois int he DC reboot, why bother having Lois as a love interrest in the new movie? Get rid of her and have WW sans the WW outfit there! Geeez...

I think you have to have a Lex Luthor presence in a Superman film. I do NOT want him to be the film's primary antagonist, but Superman with no Lex feels...wrong. Even if he is only seen on a television news broadcast in the back ground, Lex needs to be around.

That being said, Superman needs to face off with an equally super opponent for a change. No, Nuclear Man does not count. Braniac, Darkseid, Metallo, etc. As a matter of fact, I have a bit of a list of things that I think need to be either present or absent for a new Superman flick to make me happy. Here goes...

1. NO origin story, PLEASE!!! We all know who Superman is and where he came from. Movie opens in Metropolis and Superman (not Clark Kent) shows up in the first few minutes.

2. NO Kryptonite. Seriously, It's been done to death. Throw Supes a curve ball.

3. NO depowering of Superman. Kind of in line with the previous item.

4. An antagonist that challenges Superman intelluctually AND physically.

5. Lois Lane needs to be tough, with a soft spot. Bring on Teri Hatcher! Do not put WW in this movie. Lois is Superman's love interest, period. I would even submit that Lois and Clark should be together and Lois should know that Clark is Superman from the beginning of the film.

6. Take the franchise seriously. Tone down the camp (with Chris Nolan involved, I'm sure this won't be an issue).

I agree with the Lois Lane pairing. My post was merely a take on their new direction in the comics. Why change it in the comics if they're not going to stick with it in any of the other mediums?

But I disagree with them not showing Clark Kent first.

We open with a scene of people in danger, Clark Kent then runs off, doing the classic rip off the suit, expose the Big S, and takes off at super speeds!

That would work for me, because in that scenario the audience's first encounter is still with the character of Superman and not Clark Kent. I just don't want to wait 30 minutes to see The Man of Steel.
