Jack L Chalker's rings of the master series has an intelligent super computer which basicaly ends up taking over the entire universe due to bad programming and getting accidentaly activated too early. It is unable to break it's programming and knows that it is "evil" and so goes completely bug nuts insane.

As it cannot destroy itself it seems to try working through the evil overlords list to get someone to destory it. As it was built in Cheyenne mountain and cannot re-locate itself it uses its human slaves to landscape Cheyenne mountain into a sweet supervillain volcano lair, without letting them use any technology more advanced than a shovel, over several centuries complete with creepy independant animatronic giant talking heads in the image of it's creators.

The computer also invents weather control that it promptly uses to create a suitably atmospheric permenant cloud layer half way up the volcano. So the outside of the artificial volcano has robotic terminator style sentries, beam weapon and missile turrets, an energy dampning field to take out anything mechanical that does not belong to the system, oh and a wheelchair accessible ramp because it's creators programmed health and safety regulations before the "do not kill me" routine

Well I just logged into the NCSoft store and yay there is the going rogue expansion pack. Except that I play on the US servers and as the NCSoft store incorrectly identifies my IP as being German it will only give me the option to purchase the European version.

The main CoH digital purchases all have "US version available" links but not the going rogue page, although it does tellme that US Sales tax may be applied.

Heres hoping that the pre-orders are available throught he ncsoft online store. Importing CoV was a nightmare that I realy don't want to have to repeat

Morning everyone, I hope you are all having as good a morning as I have been so far. I started my day by wandering into work with an 8 foot christmass tree over my shoulder because work is too cheap to buy one so I bought it myself.

I got stopped by some jobsworth who tried saying that I might offend the Muslims in our office by "forcing my religion on them" to which I simply replied that I am not a christian, and then held the door open for one of the Muslim's in question who had his arms full with tinsel for the tree.

And finaly and most entertainingly I found CNN filmin in the office and threw them out mid interview for not having a permit to film in a restricted area.

So it turns out that there IS such a thing as a good morning

My Emp/Rad got up to the mid 40's without absorb pain, but my SG mates had been badgering me to take it so I finaly did. For my play style AP is only rarely used but it can make a massive difference. You see I don't often play my Empath on PUG's I know that not all PUGs are bad but there are more than enough out there for me to avoid them.

However on a team where the playstyles have meshed over time and we all know each others streangths and weeknesses, Absorb pain lets the team go that little bit furhter. With AP the tank knows they can grab that little bit more agro and that you can keep them alive if need be. And for the occasions when one of the squishier players accidentlay grabs agro or strays too close to the alpha strike you can pull them back with one power.

If you are looking at AP as just another heal other because your Heal other isnt coming back fast enough, well you may enjoy that play style but its not what I find fun. As for gather macro's my empath has the n key bound to say in local "gather", in the past team mates have asked why its not in team chat, as they wont here it if they are out of local range, but that is the whole point. If you are not close enough to hear it I am not waiting for you to get over to me

O.k. heavy spoilers here, so you may not want to read on.

Crey industries and all their little sub companies are based on the empire built up by the billionaire Alphonse Crey. Now our friend Alphonse after building his empire married the beautifull you clarissa van dorn and then tragicaly fell into a coma and has never recovered. Despite the fact that many people thought that she had married him just for his money the plucky clarrisa crey as she now is went on to keep the company running and making proffit saving the jobs of many many ordinary citizens. Now unfortunately many people out there are still trying to slander her with lies and rumours that have never been proven. Well thats the publics view of her anyway.

It turns out that Clarissa Van Dorn is actualy Julianne Thompson, She married Alphonse under false pretenses for his money, and then used his money to develop the poison that has put him into the coma he is in now.

So to the people on the street Crey industries is an old company with a long history of being no more or less evil than any other big company, however ever since Count Crey married a younger woman personal attacks have been being made against her and the corporation. Due to her control of the media and her armies of lawyers no proof ever gets out, so it all looks like conspiracy thoeries and ad homnien attacks.

It will probably take a lot of time or some major revelations for peoples opinion of Crey industries to change, and dont forget that for every sniper on the roof tops, there are thousands of ordinary paragon citizens working for crey industries on perfectly normal and legal every day stuff.

If you do transfer be sure to use the check name feature to make sure that the name you have is free on the server you are going to. I decided to move a character to a less populated server for those buisy period where you can't get on, unfortunately I failed to check the name and now the character has a free rename token as the name was in use.

I get this about once every ten times I alt tab, alt tabing out and back in fixes it every single time for me.

For years my main was a fully hami-o'd emp/rad defender, I developed a bit of a reputation with my SG for having scrapper lock on an empath. I would usualy play the empath on SG teams using out teamspeak server, and it was soon noticed that I would say "ooh sapper" or whatever "tough" mob was seen, and would drop both aura's if they where ready, and aim build up, teleport right on top of the mob, and then go nuts with stuns and debuffs keeping the "problem" mob out of action whilst the rest of the team came charging in.

The only problem is that when playing on PUG's I would do the same thing and often the PUG would be so confused that survival would be touch and go, however being an empath meant that I could heal myself quite nicely whilst waiting for the others to get there, and being a rad meant i could keep the mobs debuffed and several of them stunned .
