  1. There aren't enough travel powers being used in that video.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
I got a raptor pack, jet pack that lasts 2 hours. Next run caused more devastation and didnt recieve a temp power at all. Are we only allowed one temp power? Or is there something I missed?

    [/ QUOTE ]
One temp power per ten levels, based on the Mayhem Mission you can get at the time.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
Sounds like the same problem I'm having--defeated in mission, go to hospital, programs dc's half-way thru loading back to Grandville.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Same thing happens in Port Oakes.

    It's 'graphically intensive.'
  4. [ QUOTE ]
    AS that mailbox!

    [/ QUOTE ]
oh god it saw me Now what will I do?

On another topic, I believe I will thoroughly enjoy Mesmirizing lamp posts and fire hydrants.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Don't know if this is I7 or before but...Guantlet will work in PvP soon.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Heeeeeee
  6. [ QUOTE ]
The general idea behind the Mastermind is one who commands others to get his or her work done, and their role in the matter is guidance and planning ... If we arent' given powers that (a) enhance our minions, the ones doing the work or (b) help our minions by way of guidance and planning, then we take a big step away from Mastermind and into another AT.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The thing is, though, Masterminds aren't just bobbing, flailing brains with mouths that use their henchmen as limbs. You can choose that type of play if you prefer, but you've got a few attacks in your primary and a host of buff/debuff powers in your secondary. You may not be looking at the Patron powers as closely as you could to see that they actually do function well within the idea of what a Mastermind is supposed to be and do.

    [ QUOTE ]
Ranged AoE attack (corrupter) should be given to our minion(s).

    [/ QUOTE ]
What for? I have all three of my primary attacks on my Mastermind. Think of it as a HP debuff: I reduce my target's HP, thereby helping my henchmen defeat it faster. Heck, I have higher burst damage than any of them alone, except for maybe my Assault Bot. Anything that weakens my target is an asset to my henchmen, and that's not considering any additional effects that the AoE attacks have. Night Fall has an accuracy debuff. Mace Beam Volley does knockback.

That, and having six minions all with AoE attacks might be a tad overpowered.

    [ QUOTE ]
Immobilize (stalker? huh?) could be given to a minion(s). But better for the MM.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Giving AoE immobilizes to each of your henchmen would quickly become broken. Most of these also have debuffs that would also become stacked and broken.

    [ QUOTE ]
Shield (brute) should be given to a minion(s).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Trying to fight henchmen with such high resistances wouldn't be all that fun (well, it would be fun for the Mastermind, I suppose,) and would give an opponent even more of a reason to just go after you in the first place. However, since all of your henchmen DIE when you faceplant, giving yourself any additional protection is one of the best things you can do to help them out.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
    Our pets get nothing?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Your zombies and ninjas don't have to chase crap down because you get Immobilizes and Holds.

    [ QUOTE ]
    No new playmate?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    You have six!

    [ QUOTE ]
    No new toys?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Are you kidding?

    [ QUOTE ]
They do all the work and take all the pain!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Which is what they're there for.

    [ QUOTE ]
Giving stalkers a snipe when they already have AS is just insane. So now the great keep moving strategy doesn't mean squat since you can get sniped. Way to go there.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    1. We don't know if the Patron Power Pools will work with Assassination.

    2. The sniper attacks don't have the +Special ability that the Assassin attacks have that combo with Hide.

    3. Keep in mind that the Brawl Index for Stalkers is still lower than Scrappers.

    [ QUOTE ]
    I HATE EVERYONE

    [/ QUOTE ]
Count to ten, backwards, calmly and slowly...

    [ QUOTE ]
Um? They already have their click domination power that boosts damage and mezzing? Why do they need another damage boost?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Don't you DARE use logic in this thread! It's not wanted here!
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Then why do I have such bad accuracy problems on my electricity blaster and defender?? More than any other powersets.

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's all a matter of perception.

    (No, not the Perception ingame.)
  9. [ QUOTE ]
15 minutes is the time we are going to the Training Room with. If it turns out that that's not enough time for you to Empowerment Buff, get to the mission, and get you through the tough fight, then it will be increased.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Over in the Isles, it has as of late taken me at least three or more minutes simply to zone...longer if I'm zoning into a mission with a lot of people in the group. I know this, because people have noticed and ask jokingly if I'm on dial-up.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
But IF we were to add it, it would be available nonetheless.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The text for it would still have to make sense...I'm sure that would be involved in the hardness somehow...
  11. [ QUOTE ]
The models for "Professor Echo" and "Dr. Aeon?" were accidentally reversed. Professor Echo should be the white-haired old man.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Then why do some of the newspaper missions refer to a 'white-haired' scientist instead of a 'brown-haired' scientist?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
That had to be the best damn punchline ever, and it's pretty cool for one of the two Hero Chewtoy gangs actually look badass *thumbsup*

    [/ QUOTE ]
What do you mean, 'actually?' Chewtoy? Maybe it's been a while since your face was on the receiving end of a Shadow Maul.

Remember, to become a player in the City of Heroes (I mean as one who influences things, not PCs), you have to have a significant amount of infamy and badassery, no matter whether heroes (and villains!) consider you chewtoys. I think the origin story of the Skulls is an example of this.
  13. I liked Comic #9, but there were two main issues I had with it:

    1) In the one panel with the younger Back Alley Brawler on the roof, it shows Paragon City with War Walls, but according to the official timeline the War Walls were only built during and after the Rikti War, with Rikti technology.

1a) This is one thing that's kinda been bugging me since the first page of the new comics. :/ I mean, ingame, you can clearly see buildings outside of the areas protected by the War Walls, and the ingame map shows streets outside of the War Walls, but in the comic, it shows just mostly empty space...

And aren't the War Wall force fields blue?

    2) So, which version of the Back Alley Brawler is the real one? They've got the video/Blue King version on the cover, and the ingame version in the actual comic. What?
  14. Apparently, someone in this thread managed to unlock Kristoff Jaeger. If someone wants to interrogate him, there it is.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Hang about, how can you tell they're even male under those draping robes? All we can see are glowing eyes!

    [/ QUOTE ]
This is true, but the thing is they all seem male nonetheless. DX
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    Gardvord problems cleared up.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Missed it in the last paragraph again.
  17. Good writeup. I suppose I'll meditate on some of this stuff whenever I get around to working on my Dom.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
How does my Technology character control things like the Holiday Rocket Pack, Raptor Pack, Cryocite Armor, etc.? He's got a suit of power armor with its own computer systems, and those systems really have to be secure given the Rikti, Freakshow, Council, etc. level hackers out there who might want to hijack his systems. So, when Miss Liberty drops a rocket pack on me, or I buy one in Siren's Call, how do those controls suddenly show up on his (my) interface (power bar)?

Does the Freedom Corps or D.A.T.A. insist that my equipment have a backdoor for their systems? Does their hardware have some completely open API my systems can automatically tap into for use? What's going on here?

For the purposes of goofing around, I tend to handwave and say that the Holiday Rocket Packs, courtesy Portal Corps by way of Miss Liberty, just have some kind of übertech A.I. that hacks and updates my systems.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Or, you could simply depress the firing button on the strap you use to put the rocket pack on. :P
  19. [ QUOTE ]
It's rather hard when using your powers roots you for 3 or more seconds.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I like to activate powers right after I jump in a given direction. Buys me just a little bit more time, which can make a heck of a lot of difference.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
As Ellis already knows, I also imagined the Clockwork King as being an older man, to go with his mad-scientist ego and anger at the Academic Establishment. You get some of that as a student, but it doesn't really kick in until you've an advanced degree of your own.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, when I think back to when I've run into him in Clockwork Castle or Clockwork Earth, I always did imagine him to be younger. Even when I read the clue that was his journal excerpt, I never imagined him to be any older than his early 30's.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
My nitpicks are: The Clockwork King being in his twenties, yet he somehow has this long-time anger at the older engineering establishment for sneering at him all these years.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You can be a self-percieved genius at any age, even if you're 15 or 16.

    [ QUOTE ]
Also, mechanical keys are very, very old and I could see a man in his 50s using them, but what college kid in 1999-2001 would even know to use those? Or how?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The Clockwork are not mechanically possible. The keys are just for decoration and also because the Clockwork King is kinda crazy.

In any case, if you want to be an engineer, the best way to get started is to take stuff apart and put it back together again. The Clockwork King probably started out this way at an early age, maybe he got into some antique pocket watches or some such thing.

    [ QUOTE ]
Bovinity, the Cow of Justice looked nothing like Blue Steel. Nor do any other of my characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You don't have to look like someone to have their attitude. Wouldn't you be reminded of Blue Steel if some random hero barged into your warehouse and started smashing stuff?

    I don't think it's revisionist at all.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
He led the Amerika Korps through Portal Court

    [/ QUOTE ]
Probably whatever zone got taken over by The Hive, actually. That's where the old Portal Corps HQ was. ;D

    Just nit-picking. ;D

    [ QUOTE ]
And it's been a while since I fought Mother Mayhem, but is she still Aurora, or have they replaced her with an evil Sister Psyche?

    [/ QUOTE ]
According to Statesman, during the Rikti invasion of Praetorian Earth, Tyrant forced Mother Mayhem to overextend her powers, which knocked her into a comatose state. To cope, Mother Mayhem violently took over the mind of a young vigilante called the Northern Light. She doesn't seem to be intent on giving up control any time soon.

In any case, when the 5th Column goes through its revival spawned by the Reichsman's reemergence, I better see them with some brand-new stuff to make them different from The Council so I don't feel like I'm beating on two groups of villains that are all the same. More pulp-ish concepts, like rocket pack soldiers, storm troopers, or something. Why not give Unteroffiziers and Obersts those potato-masher grenade-things instead of those modern Counterstrike concussion grenades? Just, no alien frills. XD

And no frikken' kung-fu! XD I mean, it's alright for them to shout out their attacks like a bad anime ("Alpha maneuver!",) I think that's funny, but kung-fu fascists just strike me as corny. XD
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I do wonder who made the descriptions for the Longbow Flamethrowers... it's classic. For those who haven't seen them:

"Harkening back to the days of flaming arrows are Longbow's flamethrowers. Longbow tries not to use these when the press is around. Burning enemies to cinders doesn't sound well for a 'heroic' organization."

    [/ QUOTE ]
Does it really say that? I couldn't tell, all the descriptions for Longbow are the same. Same thing for the Gold Brickers, Luddites, Snakes, Mooks, Coralax, CoT Hordelings and Scrapyarders so far.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Apparently numerous bugs with contacts still exist too. A new one has cropped up, requiring us to log out after doing a newspaper mission in order to get into the next mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Naw, you don't have to do that. Just select the mission.

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm getting tired of constantly jerking as I'm running around, just after two days of playing.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The zones are way hooge compared to CoH. I think. Check your graphics options, and make sure your world and character detail settings are at the proper levels. I know I had mine up too high at first, but after adjustment I can pretty much run around alright.
