New Clockwork Background Section

This is relating to the new background story on the Clockwork (just added to the Game Info: Villians section of the main website).

This was a terrific addition to the background of Paragon City's annoying automatons, the Clockwork. Great information, well-presented (especially liked the "ragged" old Paragon Times article). Very well done!

Kudos to those behind this new addition to the COH lore!

Um... let me be the first to say:

Huh?

Cause I can't find it.

(Edit: Ah, it seems to be linked only from the News page, but not from the Game Info>Villian Groups section)

I liked it. It actually added some stuff about the Clockies and the King we didn't know before, like that it was Blue Steel that destroyed CK's body!

There should be a TF where CK tries to get revenge on BS.

Totally, Blue Steel needs more action. Poor guy's getting lonely there in KR.

Agreed, I like that it isn't some anomous hero anymore, but Blue Steel. An excellent touch.

No wonder the clockwork king was pissed at heroes. Getting beaten to a pulp having your body taking from Boomtown to galaxy city or atlas and then having your robots take your brain out and put in a glass jar along with your connected eyes must make you incredibly angry.

Well, it would if you had glands that is.

The early Clockwork arcs speak of a hero having beaten the Human Clockwork King into a convalescent state, makes sense that it'd have been Blue Steel... that and it gives him some notable and visible role in the game's overall story. Makes him a bit more than just "Back Alley Brawler's replacement".

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

What i don't get is why they decided to make more villain backgrounds NOW that CoV is out. The only background that changed since launch was the 5th to council. Still, i hope they get more villain backgrounds soon. Maybe they will add the praetorians.

BTW, ahppy birthday Artic!

Wish we could give ya more than just a "Good Article!" since it's your B-day too, but we can't so go party hard for all of us and we won't nitpick this time incase you have a hangover

Um...I think you just answered your own question.

We're adding to them because they are missing from the website, and we would like it to be complete. And fans have reacted pretty positively to learning more about the world of CoH/CoV...

Praetoerians are on my schedule...just not for a little while.

cheers,

lmao, it's been a long day. Since you will eventually make a praetorian background section, do you plan on making backgrounds for every villain group that doesn't have one yet? One of my favorite things about CoH/V is this story, so these backgrounds are completely awesome to me.

Well, it seems to me when the Devs toss around the term "Story Bible" it makes it sound like the sort of thing you could knock someone unconscious with...

...if ythere's that much material, you bet your sweet bippy I'll react positively to seeing some more of it.

Since the amygdala in your brain is what controls rage, then you probably still would with the lack of glands.

Aye, good to add to the background...even for "old" content, its still background that wasn't there before and its nice to see.

And Btw, happy birthday Arctic_Sun.

The other backgrounds will be sweet no doubt, but i REALLY want to see the backgrounds for the Praetorians.

Happy Birthday Arctic.

When you do Preatorians, are we going to see Lord Social Butterfly (Good Lord Recluse)?

Nice work Arctic_Sun, looks like we'll have more fluff soon. Keep it coming, and happy birthday

I LOVE getting more story info! Story is a good chunk that makes missions fun and have a purpose. But the thing I want to know more about is

The Heroes!

Who is Blue Steel? What are his powers? History, motivation, allies, foes, stuff like that. I want to be able to read about ALL the great Heroes of Paragon, and not just the few that have "Ask about this contact" option.

Having the info in-game would be great, full info on the site even better, and both; well that'll be just double the pleasure.

I'm a storyline [censored] and I want more!

Will they change the clue text for the first Clockwork mission, now? It'd be odd if my female spine scrapper still fit the bill as the Clockwork King's assailant.

Also, is anyone else sorta' taken back by the story? Blue Steel outright killed a man, someone he could easily has just disabled and taken into custody. That's dark, even for today's heroes. That, and the fact that Malaise was brain-washed into becoming a hero, sort of darkens the overall feel of the world Paragon's set in.
