Yes. It's absolutely true. Scrappers are pointless to play next to Brutes. Stop playing those sissy scrappers and slinking stalkers and toothless tankers and come play the only melee AT in this game worth playing.*
* Besides scrappers, stalkers, tankers, night widows, and banes. -
Since the patch I've noticed that activating Heightened Senses plays the martial art sweep attack (Dragon Tail?) as it's activation, at least on the Huge model, Brute AT (the only WP I've tried it on).
This is amusing looking. Don't hurry to fix it. -
We must have difference in perspective, then (which is pretty much how perspective works). While I can tell that the chin is larger than in the links I provided it I don't find it outlandishly so, especially to the modern Timmverse stuff - certainly not to Popeye's standards.
I actually find the way his eyes are drawn in the trailer more jarring. Not sure why, but I don't like them at all. -
Quote:When did the official forums become 4chan? What did your second post contribute that your first post, with a single point making but not threatening animated gif, didn't already say?Did I mention...
CLOWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNSSSSSS?!?!?!?!
<obnoxiously juvenile pile of animated gifs removed>
I'd really like to apologize, but I can't...
Normally I'm a post and let post kind of guy, but if anyone out there legitimately has a fear of clowns you just shut the thread down for them on page one. -
I've seen that comment a bit, but I don't get it.
Superman:TAS
Or perhaps
Superman: Super Friends
And finally, back to the very beginning on Superman animation:
Superman: Max Fleischer serials
Every single one of them features a jawline very similar in proportion. It's a Superman trait. -
Why Virtue instead of Freedom? Also, wasn't one of the 'perks' of the Exalted server supposed to be it was the place things like this would be held?

Excellent points all around - I've used the same arguments myself. Honestly, I don't see how 4th is like an MMO other than labeling the classes with roles. I guess that's enough, but the role description for MMOs was itself taken from tabletop games, so maybe not.
I'm happy with the mark system of 4e because without it you're just doing what's always been done - defending is all about position (so not using a map in previous editions was doing players of front line melee characters trying to protect their squishies an injustice. Though of course after level 7 the only real 'squishy' class was thief, and they've always been the Yamcha's of D&D so whatever: If the thief died you could replace it with a real class next session.)
Only the fighter mark presses the idiot button on monster intellect. Paladins effectively put a prayer on you that burns you if you ignore them. Wardens ensnare you with primal power. Swordmages cast a spell on you. Battleminds harass you with psychic powers.
The fighter throws a rock at you. (It was a big rock) One of these things is much less worthy of a -2 to hit than the others.
4e stuff aside aggro management has existed for far, far longer than even RPGs.
Take Chess, for example: If you're using your Queen aggressively expect your opponent to spend far more effort trying to kill it than if you leave it hanging back defensively, ready to move in any direction to thwart a check. -
Yeah, I was going off the top of my head. I thought she was a mind/storm controller, but her power sets are indeed storm/psi.
Which, when boosted to EB mods, is pretty nasty for any character and is pretty much mastermind kryptonite. My own bots/traps mm, able to tear apart a rikti pylon no problem, is still getting crushed by the psi altars and wandering whirlwinds in Mako's patron mission (didn't run the arcs until 50) for much the same reasons. -
As a necro/pain 'tankermind'? She's an EB *Controller*. She'll eat him for breakfast... unless you mean by 'tankermind' stand there mezzed for the 15 seconds it takes her mezzing attacks to kill him through bodyguard. She hits like a truck - several years back before inventions and such she made mincemeat out of my sm/elec brute several times - mez protection and decent resists or not.
Psionic Tornado, Psychic Scream, Hurricane, Tornado --- all aoe, all control. There's no power on her list that a necro/pain would have a good time with.
I'd recommend grabbing someone, or getting a level or two (or three or four) on her. -
Something else reasonable to do would be make it so that rage's damage bonus only affects smashing damage, or has a larger effect on it - like Fiery Embrace used to work.
If the power is meant to increase SS's damage to be competitive and the most shining examples of it being overpowered are when you factor in what it does to things like fiery aura and patron/ancillary attacks wouldn't that work? -
If stacking Rage is a problem then Rage shouldn't be allowed to stack.
Take that, stain that used to be a deceased equus ferus. -
Quote:D.U.S.T soldiers in First Ward. They even have a beam rifle model named after them.Beam Rifle? I've said in the past they should make Beam Rifle Lts for Longbow; it seems an appropriate weapon, and would break up the monotony of Nullifier-Nullifier-Nullifier-Nullifier...

So is he untargetable/invulnerable, or does he die in one hit like the other buff pets?
Why is there confusion on this point? It's being claimed both ways in every thread about this.
Shouldn't that information be clearly stated in the item description? The difference between 8 seconds of buff (how long he'd live in a fight as a standard buff pet for most ATs) and a permanent buff is a big one. -
*After sitting in a log in queue*
<Character name> is already logged in. Please try again in a second.
*try again*
*back in the queue at the same place I'd started (202)*
*leave*
"Are you sure you want to leave your place in the queue."
Yes. Yes I am. -
I find the ring much easier to watch for when clicking away than the AF icon in the corner. Especially since it's not always three hits to get three stacks (sometimes it's four or 5 for some reason).

Well, nickle and diming his various traits aside, I think it's safe to at least say one thing:
Hulk's not *A* Brute.
He's *THE* Brute. -
In my opinion Peter David took Hulk's healing factor too far in his (excellent - my favorite) run. Previously he would heal up fast, but not regen from holes through his upper body fast. I remember the annoyance expressed on the letter pages when Hulk started taking way more damage (because regenerating is cooler) during David's run.
That aside, the infamous aftermath of Hulk vs Vector of the U-Foes scene Bill posted strikes me as being Dull Pain being used mechanically speaking rather than simple fast healing. Since there are no foes around it's not in line with Rise to the Challenge and more extreme than fast healing is made out to be.
In play ss/wp makes a decent Hulk but mechanically speaking most of those attacks are being dodged. It's actual resistances are terrible. Hulk does not dodge. Invincibility says 'deflected', as in the attack bounced off, which is far more accurate.
Plus without a decent amount of invention slotting WP is terrible at taking alpha strikes. Invulnerability is good at taking alpha strikes. One of Hulk's *things* is taking alpha strikes.
(Combine Rise to the Challenge with Against All Odds and Invincibility and throw in a crowd scaling Resistance power (we don't have one of those yet) for the 'real' effect on Hulk when swarmed, though.) -
My 50s of every AT:
SM/WP brute
WP/EM tanker
BS/Regen scrapper
Electric/Nin stalker
Sonic/Energy blaster
Emp/Sonic defender
Fire/Dark corrupter
Bots/Traps masterminds
Ill/Rad controllers
Mind/Fire dominator
Fortunata (though the NW "build 2" is just as maxed out)
Crab
Peacebringer
While the standouts on the list are the ones you see on every list - the dominator, the mastermind, and the controller - I'd happily put forth any of them as the 'best' of their AT. There's really not such a thing because it depends entirely on what you're doing with them. While any combination can be great at all situations no combo is the best at all.
Most important factor? They were all fun to play. Especially that fire/dark corrupter. Rain of Fire on a tar patch never gets old, and it's a combo that comes at level 6 and can be done from around a corner so nothing even gets to shoot back. -
Within the game mechanics the closest you could get would be an Incarnated SS/Inv/Body Brute. Rebirth destiny handles his fast healing, Void Judgement with the extreme knockback path taken accounts for a 'real' Handclap, and Cardiac Alpha for extra resistance and endurance reduction. No Interface or Lore.

Quote:Interesting. It's been my experience in MMOs over the past 10 years or so that ignoring someone who publicly announces they're ignoring someone is pretty common. I don't ignore anyone without extreme cause but I can follow the reasoning - nobody cares. If Johnny Hatespeech is being obnoxious enough to hit the ignore list for you he's probably being obnoxious enough to hit the ignore list for others. A public call out doesn't look like a warning or public service announcement at that point - it just looks like an attempt to rile Johnny into a public tirade or influence a server population with your views. On the very rare instances I actually do ignore someone, I like to do this too, for the same reasons (though most of the time I actually do ignore the person... five minutes or so after I announce that I'm going to).
A few weeks ago I actually caught hell for it from the zone. "I'm going to ignore you as a spammer for clogging up the chat with useless posts about who you're ignoring, just ignore him and shut up" kinds of things. Couldn't believe it.
Alternatively, if it's not self-evident in broadcast/global/etc through Johnny's behavior, you could be simply be lying or trolling yourself, and attempting to besmirch another players reputation by leveling a false accusation. There's more than enough people out there who would say "Don't team with Johnny - he doesn't do anything except spam racist propaganda the entire time" whether it's true or not - and mentally high five themselves for their successful troll if they get others to blindly ignore based on their chat comment. -
The other reason being there's only so many archetypes to draw upon for the Hero's Journey for a protagonist for either gender that have a wide enough appeal to entice the largest audience.

Investors in the franchise have 2.5 BILLION reasons to disagree with your dispassionate and even handed assessment.
No, making a lot of money doesn't make it good.
Yes, making a lot of money means you should make more and probably keep the guy on who did a great job of making you this money. -
The first movie's sets and costuming were fantastic. I wish they'd kept elements for the reboot - my complaint isn't so much the helmet as the drabness of the uniforms. Yes, they look like functional swat gear, and that's a good thing, but they're also supposed to be *uniforms* - something you can identify at a distance.
I would have liked to have seen the gold trim kept. Adding the shoulder flares to that picture would make the helmet look smaller. -
Funny how an actually well made trailer can turn things around a bit. I didn't like the 'mirror's edge' one, but this one had a lot of the elements about Spider-Man that I like best.
