1. I'm certain it's select from two options - roll a Primal character or roll a Praetoria character.
2. The name freeing purge only applies to really low level characters, not all characters. Good name hoarding is already a possibility - just get the alt to higher than 10 I believe. It's never been addressed but I would guess that if the name purges are still run it will sweep through the ranks of those playing for free as if they were inactive - after all, if you haven't gotten an alt to the purge proof level in 90 days you obviously don't want it. -
If you're AE fire farming - 4 small purples. 600 inf.
Pop two before leaping into the first ambush, and pop insps as they drop. Profit.
Not kidding. It's what I did with my own ss/fire until he was swimming in so much cash I decided to cap smash/lethal for the hell of it to be handy outside of a fire farm. And completely IO out a half dozen other characters. And buy miracle and numina procs for alts as soon as they can slot them (and I don't bother respeccing out of those procs if I decide to delete the alt.) -
I think I heard that was a conscious decision by the league members. Basically a uniform.
-
Agreed. In fact I'm in the contemplation stages of doing just that as a new 'main'. With almost 2000 hours played, all incarnate abilities, and being fully IO'd my sm/wp truly is 'complete' until new incarnate abilities come out.
-
Ok. Your team or inspiration tray will save you before your resists fail.
I do know from experience my own Elec with no defense bonuses does burn through her row of large purples and large greens, especially on Lambda when people often still do split up for no good reason.
For me if I had unlimited money it would fall into the category of 'sure, why not'. You WILL be a lot more survivable with defense bonuses than without, and that's always nice even if it's not necessary. -
Really it depends on what you're doing with the brute.
If you're running tip missions on x1 or x2 then ... no. Elec's resists don't start getting overwhelmed until x4 or x5.
If you're AE farming energy farms then... no. 90% resist and purples as they drop.
If you're doing TFs or the Incarnate trials then... no. Your team will save you before your resists fail. Especially on the Incarnate trials.
If you're showing off on a TF and splitting from the team constantly to do your own thing then yes.
Which leads to showing off in general. If you're trying to solo pylons or avs or TFs, etc then yes. -

ShadowWings did, though.
- Two slots total for all servers if you're free to play.
- 12 slots per server for VIPs.
- Both get additional slots (to their total) based on vet reward redeeming or store purchases, just like now (amusingly, if I went free I'd have access to 26 slots instead of 2 thanks to all the money I've thrown at buying slots on Virtue).
I believe that makes question 2 disregarded, as nothing is changing character slot access wise for us subscribers. I think their design goal for subscribers is 'nothing has changed except here have a bunch of monopoly money every month'. -
Ronald McDonald is worthy of his superhero status. I went to Budapest, Hungary back in early 1991, while the soviets were pulling out. Going to McDonalds was a BIG deal. Business men were having meetings over big macs. Everyone was dressed up - except a pack of unruly Canadian teenagers totally shattering the dignity and seriousness of going to McDonalds for lunch.
As an aside - what stood out to me is how expensive it was. I think we converted it to be 20 bucks Canadian. In the local currency at the time 20 bucks Canadian was large chunk of change for the working class - enough to get a one year unlimited subway pass for instance (which we all did). I'd converted way too much (600 bucks) and as long as I stayed out of the 'upper class' area of town I was rich. Having spent only a fraction of it by the end of the trip I was literally giving money away since you couldn't change it back. Hell, I tipped a waitress enough to pay her rent my last meal there - just because she spoke english.
Different now, of course. Budapest is one of the most expensive cities in Europe I understand these days... but back then it was quite a unique experience.
McDonalds and rock and roll were two of the most effective cold war weapons the US had. -

If so, awesome. I loved those old gold box games.
If not... uh... it's been done. -

Post-Excalibur Colossus and Kitty Pryde.
Though they're one of the most screwed over couples in X-History they're also the only comic book couple that I care enough about to be annoyed whenever they are inevitably screwed over for the billionth time. -
Blade 2 is the only thing on that list I would drop. I'd replace it with X2 in a heartbeat. Nightcrawler attacking the White House was better than all of Blade 2 in my opinion.
-
As long as the stories are good they can dump the last 70 years of continuity for all I care.
A lot of those titles premises aren't giving me confidence in my one stipulation, though. -
In Brightest Day
In Darkest Night
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware my power
"I know, right?!" -

Quote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpxRS8GORmkUnless I'm mistaken, ST5 was the one where they get hijacked by a crazy vulcan and search for God at the center of the universe. I don't recall any bromance.
.. pretty much the only scene worth watching in the movie. -
I use the 'enemies are level 3 and feel my controller wrath!' thing all the time to get characters to SOs. I don't hit 22 in 16 hours, though, let alone 50.
-
Wow. That build is brutally expensive, but absolutely beastly. Makes me want to roll one.
-
The only thing I feel annoyed by late game with my own main, a sm/wp brute, is the stupid freaking turrets on the BAF. I've been shot up pretty badly pulling the AVs more than once.
Everything else, once I got my level shifts, is easy. Main tank Marauder? Ok. Solo acid or weapon caches if I need to? Not a problem. -
There are things about both builds that I liked. Nice job working with the restrictions.
I could potentially see dropping taunt for cloak of darkness. Taunt's useful on the BAF when I see someone get a second warning; that's mostly where I use it. It wasn't really about the costume obfuscation - in combat there's so much going on that I can't see myself anyways. While the exact reason I passed it up has been lost the annuls of history... I seem to recall it mostly being about the endurance cost. Which is obviously no longer a factor. -
Oh, I know. The restriction is why *I* am having a hard time improving the build in mids. If it wasn't there I'd whip up a standard high defense, decent recharge /dark in 15 minutes myself.
Touch of Fear and Shadow Maul are there for two reasons: One, they're two of my favorite powers in the game. Two, they're incredibly useful when exempting which I do with this character a lot as it's my redside badger.
Touch of Fear on auto has always been a huge part of my single hard target survival. It wouldn't be needed (at 50) if I was softcapped, true, but this build will never be softcapped. Plus I like fearing bosses.
Cloak of Fear is pure vanity. It's my favorite looking aura power. When it's available in the character generator I'll probably dump it. Til then... 80% vanity, 20% utility. It *does* have uses when fighting things like Cimerorans - slowing attacks down so dark regen can recharge.
Shadow Maul is tied with gloom for my favorite attack power in the game. If I make a dark/ it's for shadow maul. Seriously. I make no excuses for it - I'm aware of it's limitations - it just clicked with me on my first day playing and I love it. I can usually hit three or more people with it, which makes it one of the best short ranged cones around. My Reactive interface is icing on the cake. If I destroy a x3 mob in a few seconds it's because of soul drain, dark obliteration, and a well placed shadow maul. -
Help me out with my dark/dark.
The challenge is this:
Find a way to improve the build's damage, survival, or both while keeping every single power.
The build can already handle pretty much anything not Kheldian PPD at x8 and has beaten a few AVs so this is mostly for fun (And because, being my first 50 all those years ago, the poor thing deserves better).
The chunk (works for me, might not work for others. Has happened before.)

edit: This is, of course, my live build titan exported. Not a build I actually sat down in mids and slapped together with the thought 'this is a good build!'. -
Information is ammunition.
Posting your build is good.
Posting HIS is better. -
