Love it! But when did Ronald McDonald attain superhero status?

The article mentions one of the characters as "The Mask" which, looking at the face, is a little green. Probably the paint blended a bit from being hurried?

"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.

Clearly the Gorton's Fisherman is just his mild-mannered day job. At night, he fights crime as "The Trawler."

Ronald McDonald is worthy of his superhero status. I went to Budapest, Hungary back in early 1991, while the soviets were pulling out. Going to McDonalds was a BIG deal. Business men were having meetings over big macs. Everyone was dressed up - except a pack of unruly Canadian teenagers totally shattering the dignity and seriousness of going to McDonalds for lunch.

As an aside - what stood out to me is how expensive it was. I think we converted it to be 20 bucks Canadian. In the local currency at the time 20 bucks Canadian was large chunk of change for the working class - enough to get a one year unlimited subway pass for instance (which we all did). I'd converted way too much (600 bucks) and as long as I stayed out of the 'upper class' area of town I was rich. Having spent only a fraction of it by the end of the trip I was literally giving money away since you couldn't change it back. Hell, I tipped a waitress enough to pay her rent my last meal there - just because she spoke english.

Different now, of course. Budapest is one of the most expensive cities in Europe I understand these days... but back then it was quite a unique experience.

McDonalds and rock and roll were two of the most effective cold war weapons the US had.

I rather like that as a redesign of Superman's outfit (aside from the "s" looking a little clumsy).
