Really? Nobody does Hamidon trials anymore? Perhaps you missed a previous post I made.

I've seen raids scheduled for 9 PM Eastern that have had a full Hive 15 minutes before the scheduled start times.

Maybe you just play on a server that isn't as active in Hami Raids or Seed Raids.
If nobody does Hami raids since the fix, why is Justice still running multiple Hami raids each week?

Character slots have always been locked to servers whether it was the base 8/12 slots or any purchased slots.

You have always had to have an empty slot on the server you wanted to transfer to.

Nothing has changed there. The only thing that has changed is now having a single server restricted to subscribers, where previously all servers were restricted to subscribers.

If you want to transfer a character off of Exalted, you have to do it while you are still subscribed. Since most people know when they are going to unsubscribe and which characters they might want to play that are on that server, it's their responsibility to transfer them before they lose access to them.
  3. Let me rephrase that then.

From the conversations I was having with him (on these forums and not on these forums) before and after the layoff, he was actively working on City of Heroes.

An AT respec would be even more involved than a powerset respec.
  6. They made a recent correction to some of the HO's to specifically not enhance things that they weren't designed to enhance, correcting a long-standing exploit (Castle's term for it, not mine although I agree with the usage).

By chance are you trying to combine HO's slotted in a power that would be affected by this change?

Considering that Chris hasn't been with Paragon Studios since October 2010 it's likely that the DX11 game he was working on was either Champions or another game at Cryptic Studios (his current employer).

He was actively working on City of Heroes until PS did their layoff in October 2010, not a different game.

From what I've been told by several people, some that no longer work for NCSoft Austin, they (the GMs) don't have the authority to reset that timer if you choose to use it.

Well, you apparently don't know me very well.

I've received responses that were totally inappropriate to the reported problem without getting "very angry" or having "a few choice words".

I've just calmly updated the report ticket, staying polite, and explaining that they did not read the ticket correctly and their response had nothing to do with the reported problem. I then calmly asked that if it was an issue that they did not fully understand and could respond to appropriately that they escalate it to a senior GM.

If they continued to respond with inappropriate responses I calmly asked that they escalate the ticket to a senior GM.

I've not had occasion to get "very angry" with any of the CS people.

Anyone that has met me (and there are quite a few in game) can likely tell you that I do have anger management issues. Nothing in CS has caused those issues to be displayed.

I've not encountered any of the problems with NPC captive such as you described in your initial post since I22 launched. I've had several missions with NPC captives that I needed to rescue that either become an Ally, that I lead to an exit, or that simply run off on their own.

Is it possible that there is a small subset of NPC captives that this happens to? Yes. Is it as wide-ranging a problem as you are making it out to be? It doesn't seem so.

EDIT: The senior GM had nothing really to respond to since there was not an actual problem that CS could resolve according to your ticket that you posted. When you file a petition, it goes to CS. When you report a bug, it goes to QA. CS has nothing to do with fixing bugs or even reading the bug reports. That is all QA. You tried filing a bug report as if it were a petition and instead of merely reporting a problem you insisted on insulting the developers. Your "petition" was nothing but a rant.

Turg, you really should keep up on the news.

Avatea hasn't been with Paragon Studios since December.

You'll have to settle for Dink, Tunnel Rat, War Witch or Doc Delilah if you are insisting on having a female Dev do the babysitting.

Why would they need to go to another server? They aren't shutting down either Vigilance or Zukunft. They aren't even removing the French or German tags from the server listing screen. They are not forcing the established communities on either of those servers to go elsewhere.

If a French speaking player signs up to play the game, they will still see Vigilance (French Language) on the server screen and know that they can find people that speak the same language.
  13. The server isn't being closed down or removed. It isn't being renamed.

They are no longer providing French or German translations of the in-game files and are no longer maintaining a separate forum section for French or German.

There will no longer be a separate EU website. All website traffic will be redirected to the NA website.

Their game accounts and payments are not affected.

They will still be receiving technical support in French and German.

I'm rather unclear on what Cosplay Policy you are referring to.

I am unable to find any Terms of Service listed on the CoH website or on the support site. If you can provide a link, that would be helpful.

In the current User Agreement, section 4 relates to Accounts and Payments.

In the current Rules of Conduct, item 4 relates to posting or linking to sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive imagery or content.

In the current Forum Rules and Guidelines, rule #4 deals with making public any private communications from NCSoft, Paragon Studios or even other users.

I find nothing in any of the above links relating to Cosplay, so I'm not sure how you are using the term here and what ToS you are referring to.

EDIT: If by "Cosplay" you mean violating intellectual property, copyright or trademark of characters, that has been enforced for as long as the game has been in existence. It got enforced even more heavily after the Marvel lawsuit, but it was still enforced before that. Anyone telling you it was completely unenforced or ignored was blowing smoke out of their backside.
  15. Your old game account is the one that has your old characters and VIP status.

The new game account is simply that, a new game account under the same Master Account as the old game account. It does not access your old game account, any characters on the old game account or anything else dealing with the old game account except for being on the same Master account.

If you log in with your old game account after changing that password, you can file a support ticket using the Ask A Question tab on the City of Heroes support site using the https://support.cityofheroes.com address.

You will have to log in with your support account if you have one. It may not be the same as your game account information as they can be different.

If you have never created a support account, you will need to create one.

And no, the forum mods have nothing to do with game account support so they cannot help you with this except to give you instructions to file a support ticket.

EDIT: You cannot file an in-game support ticket from the new account as that account is not a VIP account. Only VIP accounts get access to in-game support. Your only option would be to file a support ticket as I listed above if changing the old game password doesn't let you get in or waiting until Monday when Live Chat support is available..

I didn't pay for "it" (assuming you are meaning Incarnate Content) but I did pay to play as a VIP, or prior to Freedom I just paid to play. I got what I paid for plus a bunch of things I have had no interest in and some that I still have no interest in. Nothing has changed since there was content released before Freedom that I had no interest in.

    2) True, you're not obligated to play it, but you are obligated to run it multiple times if you want the rewards, killing any enjoyment you did get from the content from doing it "when you feel like doing it" because you now feel obligated to not miss the "daily reward timer".
    False.

I opened the Alpha Slot on TJ but did no other Incarnate Content on any of my characters until I22 was released. There are other people that have posted that they did pretty much the same thing. I've read posts from people that have run no Incarnate content except for Ramiel's mission to unlock the Alpha slot but have run normal content and used the Shards that dropped to equip their Incarnate powers and slots. Some have gotten T3 in more than one slot, so it can be done without any of the Incarnate content being run.

    Quote:

Seriously, World of Warcraft is killing their own design of their game with this "daily quest" thing. Every game that does it is just making its customers sick of it.
I have no interest at all in what some other game does.

    Quote:

People do not want to do things repeatedly unless they really really want to.
The same was true before Incarnate content was introduced. But people did repeat runs of the KHTF regularly, the ITF regularly, the LGTF regularly, the STF or LRSF regularly as well as quite a bit of other content.

    Quote:

And no, making rewards optional does not remove the obligation to run the content you get those rewards from. It just means you are not obligated to get the rewards. If you want the rewards you are still obligated to run the content multiple times.
You are still wrong. As I already stated, people are outfitting their Incarnate slots without running the Incarnate content already. They are still not obligated to run that content because there are other ways to progress (albeit slowly) without running iTrials or the new DA content.

    Quote:

It's like buying fast food. You're not obligated to buy fast food, but you are obligated to pay for it if you want it.
This isn't fast food. But I have gotten fast food without being obligated to pay for it.

That's why the "farm and grind for reward" design is so popular with developers. Enough people will put up with it.
The problem is they don't realize how huge the group that hates "farm and grind for reward" is compared to the ones who will put up with it and even enjoy the boredom and aggravation.
    That is my point.
Your point isn't as valid as you think it is. We've had a farm and grind for reward design much longer than we've had Incarnate content.

    Quote:

This game was so much better before we had a really really really long endgame grind. It was so much better before inventions for the same reason.
The only problem is that everything before those 2 systems was far more difficult due to "lower numbers".

So, they added new systems that just "increase numbers" with a tacked on story that the systems continually break the immersion of by requiring farming content repeatedly.

Where did the game go and why are we now accountants?
Again, we've had farm and grind long before Incarnate or endgame content.

    Quote:

    Edit:
In the case of the grind in this game, you actually pay at least twice.
You have to pay just for access to incarnates and inventions and pay in way too much time to actually get those rewards.

That isn't even counting the fact that those rewards will be taken away from you if you ever unsubscribe after that, so they obligate you to continue subscribing forever, at least for incarnates.

Honestly, there is no reason to make the grind for the rewards so harsh, especially when it just makes people think "it's not worth it because it isn't fun to make the game a job".
Still the same answer. We've had farm and grind for rewards (costing both subscription fees and time invested) long before Freedom, long before Incarnate content and long before any endgame.

Contrary to your statement, they don't take the rewards away from you if you unsubscribe, you just aren't able to access those abilities. If you resubscribe those rewards you earned and Incarnate progress is still there.

In some ways it works the way it did prior to Freedom. If you unsubscribed, you lost access to your characters entirely but they were still there just as you left them if you re-subscribed.

    tl;dr version

No one is obligated to play the Incarnate content if they want to progress through Incarnate powers. There are rewards that can be gained through normal gameplay that will allow you to get Incarnate progress.

The game has always had farm and grind for rewards built into it.
  19. Actually, you aren't obligated to play any of the Incarnate content at all. It's entirely optional.
  20. Dinah's Garden Hotel and Trader Vic's both are Handicap Accessible. Since Dinah's Garden conference rooms are in the same building as Trader Vics, I lump the bar into it as well.

There is elevator access from the parking lot into the building areas where the conference rooms are located.

I'm glad you were able to read my reply as it was intended and not as others have done trying to twist what I was saying to suit their own agendas.

Player Help would be one place to ask for assistance or possibly City Life. If you mention the server in this thread you may even get an offer from someone. As long as it isn't Justice I'd be willing to roll an alt just to help you out and I'm sure there are others that would be willing to help as well.
  22. The ability to create SG's and pay Base Rent is one of the few things exclusive to VIP's.

They are giving enough away for free or for such a small amount of money already that the VIP sub is almost devalued.

    /jranger

EDIT: All it takes is for you to ask a VIP to help you create the SG and start the base. They can then hand you the Leader position and quit the SG.

Then fill the base with items that don't cost base rent, or if you insist on having those types of items you can either invite some VIP strictly for the purpose of paying rent or ask on the forums for a VIP that's willing to put a filler character in your base that can log in once a month to pay rent.

I've seen enough offers from long-time players that are well known on the forums to know that you'd likely be able to find some takers.
  23. Besides, all they'd have to do then is to use something like TinyURL or Bit.Ly or any other site that obfuscates the actual website name to provide a different link to their site and it would bypass that filter entirely.

The amount of effort to code it in originally and then to maintain it, only to be so easily circumvented with an obfuscated link, would be better spent on other game matters.
