In my experience, the character creator/tailor only shows you the regular Kinetic Melee attacks NOT the attacks as they appear with the shield active.
And I don't recall to what level I got with my Kinetic Melee/Shield character, but all of the attacks I saw (about four or so) were changed to one-handed animations with the shield. I was under the assumption that they all would be similarly altered. -
He was in that spawn when I recently did the mission. However, my Willpower Tanker with Heightened Senses and Focussed Accuracy had no trouble spotting him. Seeing him presented its own problems, however, as I kept accidentally targetting him and he was unaffected by all my attacks until I defeated the mob and he turned blue for conversation, and then hostile again after the conversation. So he's apparently not just invisible.

The psychic battle with Psimon wasn't bad. For a moment there, I was hopeful that Superboy was manifesting his telekinesis.
The boom tube hints at a potential future appearance of an awesome villain.
And it finally forced me to look up "whelm", which is apparently synonomous with "overwhelm"... so there's a kind of flammable/inflammable thing going on there. -

I find that earth powers suffer from the same problem, particularly when you select Crystal.

I haven't seen that, exactly, but I did run into a spawn of 6-8 of those Malta Lieutenant mechs (while soloing with my WP/SS Tanker, as I recall) that ultimately turned into 3 Zeus mechs.

Not every NC game makes you accept it every time; I know GuildWars doesn't.
I don't really mind it, I can click past it just as fast in game as from the old launcher. Although it does make me even more grateful for the "quit to character select" feature. -

Whats not to ridicule and be sarcastic about? You fail to point out whats so utterly terrible about this current setup when, previously, that one click was still present, just in a different place (namely the launcher).
Could be that there is a ridiculous legal reason for it to be there, but surely you wouldn't be sarcastic based on pure supposition? Not *you* of all people. -
I've always hated the fervor with which enemies attack those pathetic pets, but that was pretty amusing.

It doesn't particularly bother me - if anything the in-game version has a slicker and more aesthetically pleasing presentation than the previous launcher version - however, it really *should* remember that you've already agreed to it on a per account basis and thus not show it to you unless there's been a change.

My first character was my Invulnerability/Energy Tanker. Soon followed by a Martial Arts/Regen Scrapper.
I occasionally still play that Tanker, but he's only level 36 IIRC.
I'd probably still play my Scrapper, given that he's my namesake, but they took a powerset that I was enjoying as a rather passive set (and which makes more sense as such) and turned it into a click-intensive pain in the backside; then they released Willpower just to rub salt in the wound. Thus he sits at level 38 and I only log into him occasionally to remind myself that I abhor playing him. -
It'd be nice if they could integrate server status into the launcher rather than have it open the web page.

I didn't have all of my serial codes to give them, but I submitted what I had along with the other info and after two days they responded that they'd reset my question for me. So at least I can access my account now.
