Expanding the Kheld Epic Archetypes

Rogue Galaxy's, Quantum's & Void's. . . Oh my!

The Kheld Epic Archetypes are (For me anyway) difficult to play, kind of a case of both too much and too little, I am aware that other players do well with them, but my own Warshade is a very slowly growing toon. Also, I have heard some voice complaints that there is no Kheldian VEAT, perhaps I can offer this suggestion to help things along a bit.

An expansion concept of the Kheldian EAT could include the addition of a Rogue Void or Rogue Quantum or Rogue Galaxy H/VEAT. Not Rogue as in alignment, though they could certainly do that through the Tip Alignment system, but Rogue as in choosing their own path rather than following the specific roles they were created for by the council. They all should be able to be created as either Heroes or Villains, making them the first cross genre ATs. Plausible back story would have to be worked to allow for Galaxies and Voids to escape their conditioning or how the Quantums came to possess their weapons, Perhaps a Rogue faction working with the Khelds is responsible for "liberating" them. As rogues of course they would have to face the Council as enemies, perfect bad guys for long mission arcs.

Rogue Galaxy's powers could be pretty much straight forward as per the NPCs. Rogue Voids, infused with Nictus fragments and along with Quantums, armed with Quantum or Nictus powered weapons. While similar in some respects, they would each have to have a unique flavor. Others who wiser than I am would have to lay out suggestions for specific powers & sets, of which some should be probably be borrowed from the WS & PB sets to maintain that flavor. I suspect they should remain more human like rather than having a radically alternate form, though perhaps a hybrid form could be considered.

So there it is, just a concept that is sadly incomplete as is my knowledge of Kheldian lore, and yet I think it is a concept that needs to be explored.

I think it'd simply be better if htey fixed the glaring problems with Kheldians at the moment. Such as the mediocrity of Dwarf form, the unnecessarily long shape-shift times, lack of mez protection in human form and the lack of ANY Inherent solo, making it the only AT to be penalised in this way since Defenders go their fix.

-which isn't any use in a combat situation

((No, not even the hover that PBs get. A lot of PB attacks seem to need you to be on the ground, with hover turned off. Which totally negates it))

Thanks Memphis_Bill, that is some help!

In general, the lack of powers useful in all forms is a serious detraction, I just don't understand why at least some of the shields are not available in the alt forms. Dwarf seems like it should be able to use Sands of Mu and Nemesis Staff (Or Axe & Wand) to give it a few more attacks. So many of the inherent powers

But anyway, the Kheld Genre feels like it has so much room for expansion and growth. While the original ATs could be (and I think should be) improved, adding more AT options such as the Rogue Galaxy, Rogue Void and Rogue Quantum certainly can't hurt. All of these NPCs

Memphis_Bill suggested a Nictus based MM set in another thread and that is certainly in the same spirit of the Kheld genre.
