To see Knives Blueside do Crimson's and Indigo's arcs.
-
And wait 10 minutes. Sometimes it takes time to propagate through the system because of the amount of stuff in there.
I've made text changes and do not see immediate updates. -

What I've done is add a number of opposing patrols. As they encounter each other, they attack (though, they seem not to have much of a detection range for each other, as opposed to detecting ME).

Thank you, I may use this idea too. -
I happen to like the Knives (for me their coolness outweighs any other factor) but I understand how others feel about them.
I suggest that if they are going to be the centerpiece of a mission that you (if you can without messing up the story) break up the map full of Knives with patrols of a different mob type that isn't as annoying. Then it won't look quite so bad to players who dislike Knives.
I used Knives for ambushes and battles in my story arc, but didn't make them a mission of themselves because I didn't need to. If it had been necessary I would have, but they were only one of the players in my plot. -
No. No. No. No.
First, every mission holder having to "edit" and "resub" their arc would be a tremendous load on the MA. Talk about lag, and that is assuming that you haven't encouraged them to make changes by making them do this.
Second, this is punitive in nature for an arbitrary reason.
Third, what about Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame? They can't edit and resub, to do so they lose DC and HOF and then have to petition a GM for reapproval. Congratulations, you've just created workload for the GMs. That alone guarantees they will never do this.

There's an new interview with massively.com but I don't remember reading any of that in it.

Can we please get a button to "stop animation".
I believe the animations are what is crashing the MA GUI and game when I click open objectives. It is only when I click objectives that the crashes happen. MA is effectively unusuable by me (using a Radeon vid card).
Clicking "stop animation" on the animation itself doesn't work when the crash has already happened. That's why we need a button up at the top of the MA client for those of us with low end systems or with vid cards that don't play well with COH. -

I tried to republish my arcs, and the error-checking crashed my router. repeatedly.

I can't even edit my published arc. It crashes. -
I can't edit to fix my arc - the MA is back to crashing the game every time I try. Click an objective - crash. Just like in beta and the first couple weeks it went live. The memory leak is just as bad as it was then.
On the plus side, at least I now know that the problem is a stock mob description (Malta Gunslinger). I just can't fix it. -
Thank you, I'll check that!
All my characters are existing mob factions. -

I think the devs will make the right choice, especially because in this economy, doing something as drastic as locking toons and deleting accounts will mean unsubscriptions, and turning this game into Age of Conan. Dead.
But I think some response just to stop the insanity of people freaking out should be made soon, despite the common sense of knowing that certain changes were going to be made to the AE ANYWAYS.
[/ QUOTE ]
1. Changes to AE
2. Punish the Sinners! Burn the heretics!
Not the same thing.... but still, yes, it would be a good idea, but don't count on it. The developers will be going home for the night soon if they haven't already.
Join the discussion here on the Abusing the MA thread. It's already at around 2000 posts. If that doesn't merit a response, this thread won't either. -
My arc is broken. One error - it says mission 4 has improperly formatted html, text is too long. The longest text field I have is still considerably well within the limits and the only html I'm using is <br><br> for paragraph breaks.
Of course trying to edit, it crashes to desk top anyway. This turkey still isn't fixed for me. The desktop crashes are why I haven't written a second arc (and probably won't). -
Same here.

But seriously, bases are re-broke? How does that keep happening?

Reintroduce flawed code? -
There are also crowding issues with events:
Winter Event. Spring Event.
Local Server events. Multiserver events.
Virtue's RP crowd.
Plus, the building would need an offshoot dimension just like the Ski Lodge and would require more coding and art - that's developer time.
A lot of reasons not to do it even beyond the obvious consolidation of all the PLing going on in all the other zones into Pocket D (which would happen).
Pocket D would become unusable for anything but PLing and farming. -

Not at all. I just can't come up with a solution for you, Doc. Sorry about that. I'd like to get the farmers out of sight, because out of sight equals, well, you know. I can't make everyone happy, so I try to make most people happy.

New Server-wide Architect Chat channel

Be patient grasshopper.
[/ QUOTE ]
At present I'm not ignoring farmers, the moment they start spamming that channel... I will. I and my friends, and I presume others like us, would like to use that channel for real MA content.
I would encourage others to do so as well. Broadcast is one thing, channels are a totally different animal.
Once these channels open up finding MA teams who are looking for the same play experience you are might become easier.
[ QUOTE ]
SGs, on the other hand, are a dime a dozen, and generally worth as much. Its been a long while since I saw an SG with more than three active members, and I've yet to see one that didn't go for farming.
[/ QUOTE ]
Edit: I'm in hero and villain SGs on three servers, only one of them (villain on Virtue) has any members that do farming - and that's for badges. None of them recruit. We might get a PvP trash talking farmer if we did... shudder.
I suggest server-specific global channels and building global friends lists as the best way to find likeminded players who enjoy the same playstyle. -
It's there so heroes and villains can coop.
The reason (I presume) it wasn't put in Pocket D is that many player and official game events use Pocket D. -
The map doesn't support collectable items. I'll give some thought to the defendable option and see if I can stretch the story around it. I wrote the story arc around the final map and premise of destroying said object not realizing until after I'd spent two weeks on story, NPC chat, clues, etc that the map didn't differentiate placement areas.
I really wish they would fix outdoor maps. At least this map. Gun turrets and soldiers that can defeat mission requirements is a problem. -
Does anyone know a way to place items on this map and prevent the firebase from defeating them? I've tried everything I can think of, even loading the map with the maximum number possible of optional objectives (patrols, battles) and still have the required objectives still frequently spawn on top of and be defeated by the firebase.

I wouldn't term Carey and Hamilton erotica, although they certainly include elements of it in their stories. I'd classify them both as mainstream fiction. I haven't read the others, so can't comment, but I was referring specifically to fiction that was shelved in the Erotica section.
My point remains, though: Don't expect the masses to love your serious work.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would term everything Hamilton wrote after Obsidian Butterfly as erotica. And the quality went downhill along with the subject matter. -

And I'm enjoying it.

I suspect, though, that we've also got tons of veterans who have used the temporary XP firehose to try out some new ATs and powersets, and who will probably keep subscribing at least in part because they've got some new toys to play with. (I'd bet that there are an awful lot of people out there who might be using Comm Officer farms to get a bunch of toons past the first 20 levels which they've played umpteen times.)
And I rather like what the MA store has done for the broader accessibility of IOs. For the first time, as an occasional player, I've been able to afford the IOs I want (non-purple, of course), with only a handful of exceptions, and to get a very nice build without having to grind and grind and grind hopelessly. It's tremendously satisfying, and it means that NCsoft is going to get more of my money.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is exactly how I feel.
I will play a large pickup team of 8 of just about anything, TF, MA, normal missions, paper missions or street sweep for fast xp to level an AT I'm familiar with (anything but an epic) to pick up a level or two to reach a specific goal (often stamina at 20). Otherwise I almost exclusively play with people I know from my SGs, friends, or global list. Usually I'm duoing or soloing.
The ability to purchase salvage and recipes with earned MA tickets has enabled me to make things for myself and SG at a rate that I wasn't able to before. Anything I can't use, but my SGmates or alts can I make and put in the base (as there are only five of us, and only two of us play regularly, knowing who needs what is easy).
IOs are accessible to the casual player, the new player, and player friendly in a way they never were before. This is a very good move. Now the market truly is optional as was promised when it was introduced. The market is a convenience, if I want to avoid it and still make IOs I could do so, the market just makes it easier. Thank you, Devs!
Player friendly games make money. It's so simple. -
I'm having cable modem problems. The connectivity is very unreliable, a problem somewhere between my house and the main trunk. I thought I had fixed this with a new box on Friday, but no... the problems resurfaced with a vengeance late Saturday night and Comcast finally acknowledged the problem isn't on my end.
Until I get this sorted out I won't be scheduling any ship raids. Vaxin has a bad video card. Maybe Valor will schedule one in the meanwhile if RL permits. I should have this sorted out by the end of the week. -
