Check all your arcs. May be broken post pacth.
Thanks for the heads up.
This might be a good thing to do after every patch, as a "health check".
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
I think I figured out why the second arc was unplayable. It had the original energy captive animation in it. So when I opened and republished the arc in editor it reverted to the default captive animation and "fixed" the issue.
Check out one of my most recent arcs:
457506 - A Very Special Episode - An abandoned TV, a missing kid's TV show host and more
416951 - The Ms. Manners Task Force - More wacky villains, Wannabes. things in poor taste
or one of my other arcs including two 2010 Player's Choice Winners and an2009 Official AE Awards Nominee for Best Original Story
I had an arc broken because the EB/AV's bio was too long.
The standard bio of one of the main Dev created Villains - not a custom character at all.
Most (All?) the Dev created heroes have the same problem.
I edited mine to check the powers of the villains - changed one from extreme/hard to standard/standard. When I clicked republish it said it couldn't publish because there were too many allies, ambushes, etc .
I re-edit - the villain powersets had changed difficulty, and there were no errors listed.
I haven't tried playing it though - wacky things are afoot
Didn't they already fix that bug in an earlier patch?
Methinks someone's using an outdated code library.

Updates already posted on/for test earlier were implemented on the live servers today 05/05/09 I believe, during the patch.
So check every mission in your arcs, again, tor the orange error warnings. They might have bumped into a filtered again.
Check the map settings on all your missions; as the Devs have removed at least one map that I know of the 'Unique\Crey Cloning Lab' (And that ticked me off as it worked well for my story; and I'm not all that happy with the map I had to chose to replace it and make my arc work again). But, instead of just giving an error; it will say no errors; but give you a default map from the list; and if that map is too small to contain what you placed; the arc won't republish or test after a save.
Also, if you have any Signature NPCs with their default Bios; many of those Bios are over the limit and you have to remove all that text until just the 'default' button remains; and then save/republish your arc to get Test/Republish to work; and you have to do that EVERY TIME you decide to make another change.
I REALLY wish the Devs would state WHICH maps they removed in the 'MA Changes' section. I don't need to know the reason they remove a given map; just that they did so, so I have a heads up as to whether anything I have up will be affected.
My arc is broken. One error - it says mission 4 has improperly formatted html, text is too long. The longest text field I have is still considerably well within the limits and the only html I'm using is <br><br> for paragraph breaks.
Of course trying to edit, it crashes to desk top anyway. This turkey still isn't fixed for me. The desktop crashes are why I haven't written a second arc (and probably won't).

Now, if you are able to click on the error text, it'll take you right to the offeding MA entry in the Mission, and highlight it in red. Try doing that and then copying the text there into a text editor (like wordpad) and see if there are any wierd characters.
Check your character descriptions on allies and what not. I'm currently working with a few already pre-provided models for allies, and their pre-made descriptions exceed the 300 character limit.

Thank you, I'll check that!
All my characters are existing mob factions.

I had the burning tree map in one mission, I was testing an unpublished arc that I have been testing over and over daily for an event later in the month. So today all went well then I notice the mission with the burning tree map changed to an atlas building? Okay I change it to something more suitable.. only one problem..I test the arc and everything is JUST FINE! THEN!! doom strikes!
I go back to re-edit it and it removed all the unlockable content I bought when i14 went live. It was just working fine at 8:45am EST.. and by 9:15am EST I was getting errors that I did not have access to certain maps, critters, etc.. Even though I DID have access before.. I go to the ticket seller and apparently now have to buy them all back.
I sent a petition.

I can't edit to fix my arc - the MA is back to crashing the game every time I try. Click an objective - crash. Just like in beta and the first couple weeks it went live. The memory leak is just as bad as it was then.
On the plus side, at least I now know that the problem is a stock mob description (Malta Gunslinger). I just can't fix it.

And yet, my Malta Gunslingers (boss objectives) are fine. My Zenith Mech Man captives, however, were not.
In fact, all my defeat boss objectives were fine, even though my arc uses a Zenith Warcry boss and Archon Burkholder, both of which iirc have default descriptions over the 300-character limit. The only problems I've had with stock character descriptions were with the aforementioned Mech Man captives and an Infernal Demon ally.

Thanks for the heads-up too. My arc is broken now, because I needed the Crey Pod People Map, and it's no longer there.
Since the story won't make sense without that final pod room, I can't really "fix" it, and I unpublished it.

I was wondering why none of my arcs had gotten any plays and decided to run though myself. I experienced a bug I had seen on test where you try to start an arc and it just won't start, no error message.
I edited the arc in question and found the old HTML character bug was back. I fixed the patch created issue and republished and it was fine.
The second arc I tried had the same "would not start issue". It however had no HTML errors or errors of any kind. I republished it without making any changes and after that it would start normally.
I suggest everyone check all your arcs.
