  1. That looks nice, Tax E! Thank you for doing this. It looks like you already have all the references I use and the SG list is great.

What about Samuraiko's (Lady_Sadako) videos? I think they're the best game advertisement there is. They make me want to play, that's for sure.

  2. You are sweet, GEL

It's the internet. Some people are prone to be jerks when they can hide behind a wall of anonymity. Then there are the trolls. Both seem to want 'shock value'. There's not much shock value in neg repping someone with a comment of "I disagree with what you said". It would barely rate attention.

Now harassing comments take a simple PM to have the comment and neg rep deleted. Viola, gone. And now that they will modsmack for it there's an incentive to be civil regardless of reason and intent in giving neg rep.

Neg rep for posting "welcome back to the game" and the like is obviously unfounded. It's simply intended as harassment and isn't going to be as effective anymore. The mods can tell who leaves rep; what a poster has given as easily as received. Either a poster will be civil, even if mean by intent, or they're going to lose rep and possibly posting priviledges entirely. Their own words will condemn them just as much as if they had posted here.

And gosh my rep list looks prettier without the harassment (Niviene cleared it out). I've only ever gotten one neg rep that didn't come from this forum and I consider that I probably deserved it. I posted hastily and in retrospect what I said was pretty dumb.

    First Server

I started out on Pinnacle in July 04 because that is where my husband and our friends were playing. Their interest in the game waned and I came to Liberty server at American Valor's suggestion in early 2005. I've been playing here ever since. I still play on Pinnacle and Virtue, where another friend invited me, from time to time but Liberty is home now.

From now on those that are found to be abusive will have their Reputation reset to "0" (zero) making your rep power have little to no value and we will also be taking action against your forum posting account.

The Rep system is nothing more than a forum game and a way for you to have fun with each other. It was not left turned on to allow players an anonymous way to abuse, troll and attack other players.
Take note, take heed, and play nice. Comments like "You need to learn to shut your mouth" and "Lamest person on Liberty" (some of what I've received whenever I post on this forum) aren't cool and are now going to get you modsmacked.
  6. I didn't do any of those thing and I didn't make the finals/nominees. Maybe PW is onto something?
  7. Best TO Range:
    1. Nuclear in 90: The Fusionette Task Force #58363 @Cavatina
    2. The Marconeville Horror #178278 @Footloose

    Best SO Range;
    1. Astoria in D Minor # 41565 @The Cheshire Cat

    Best Short Arc:
    1. Forget the Rose, Send Me the Thorns #8925 @Hydrophidian
    2. Celebrity Kidnapping #1388 @PW

  8. Congratulations PW! It is well deserved. I love your arc.
  9. All that and more.

I've been teaming with American Valor since spring of 2005 and RP writing with him on the RP forums since November of 2004. He's a great friend, teammate, SG coleader, MS raid leader, and also the former 1st Chair of the Player Events Resource Committee.

He keeps his cool when I lose mine and is always there to help new players. He's a hero's hero.
  10. I've had this mission fail while standing at the entrance and buffing. We hadn't even moved yet. The mobs attacked as soon as we started zoning. It's bugged. It's been bugged for a long time, longer than I16.

The Sister Airla mission has been spawning level 40 bosses regardless of level every time I've attempted it.

Lady Jane needs buffs, a tank to hold aggro, or to be ignored and the map cleared.

The 30 Firbolg needs immob, hold, or sleep - basically a controller - to succeed.

The 5 min lab mission needs invisibility and super speed if you're soloing.

By comparison Fusionette and Faultline are way easy. I usually keep these two alive.

  12. Veterans deserve vet rewards. Period.

Our dedication and money has supported this game's development.

We've been here through more than new players. We've suffered the nerfs, the lag, the bugs, the crashes more than new players. We have provided game data for the devs to mine and improve the game.

I would be upset if some newbie could shell out money for veteran rewards. These were earned. It's not a $5 jetpack or $10 magic pack, it's a reward. And rewards are earned.

New players haven't earned them... but if they stay they will. Every 3 months just like me.
  13. 250 entries would be a lot. Someone has to play them.

I know many people who wrote stories for MA. Only one other than I is participating in this contest. My guess is that, as the poster above said, people compared their arcs to the best ones they had played and felt they weren't good enough to submit.

To be submitted an arc has to be marked as "final". I'm betting winners will be Devs Choiced. If an arc is still in the process of being tweaked then submitting it wouldn't be in the writer's best interests.
  14. My #1 Scrapperlocking character is my Widow. I just can't bear standing still when I know I could be laying down the hurt. The boost in run speed only contributes to this predilection for carnage. It doesn't matter what we're doing, I'm going from mob to mob to mob as fast as I can. I haven't been kicked from a team yet for doing it because... it works.

My Energy/Energy blaster has her moments. The most memorable was a Positron TF with a tank and 2 scrappers who were too afraid to go first. Energy Torrent ftw! If the mob is on its back it can't shoot back. It was a TF marathon so I continued tanking on through Synapse until we picked up a tank with cajones for Psyche and the rest.

When I'm just hanging out with friends, chatting while playing I don't mind a bit of standing around. The company is part of the fun.

On a TF or PUG it drives me nuts. We're there to play, not socialize, and certainly not to dither or cower in fear. Kill something already! Or I will, it doesn't matter what AT I'm playing.
  15. Since the last patch I've seen problems with the team listing:

My character name listed twice, in separate zones (one of which I hadn't even gone to in weeks)

Other character names blank when in another zone

Don't care to part with your soul? UniStyxHellCorp understands. As a special introductory offer we'll accept someone else's - at a slight discount, of course. And in return, we'll help you help us help you be as bad as you want.

Wholesale Soul Sale is a delightfully evil arc that hits all of the right notes for a villainous story. Not that I, Dr. Aeon, condone being villainous in any way, shape or form...but it's always good to imagine, isn't it? You'll find yourself impressed with the clever deeds being performed and laughing at the humor spread throughout this arc. Wonderslug has done a terrific job at mixing humorous villainy with seriousness villainy, the former not lessening the impact of, "...oh, wow, THAT was evil."

Gameplay wise the arc is fun to play, not an extreme challenge but this arc is no pushover either. You'll encounter a familiar enemy group later on during the arc, one which the author has done a great job in translating it over to the higher levels.

Wholesale Soul Sale is a great arc, and I'm happy to give it Developer's Choice! Congratulations Wonderslug!
Fantastic! I've played this arc and it is worth being DC'd.

It's the same for me. As long as I enjoy playing them, regardless of level. I have a 50 on which I dinged two years ago. I still break her out for task forces and mission arc teams. I started working on her second build for more to do.

I have a level 13 blaster I grew bored with - she now exists to hold the name until I reroll.

For me it's not just about level, badges, or IOs, it's about the fun.

The Wheel of Destruction arc comes to mind. Four glowies with temp powers. I *never* take a PUG along for this one.

Bank missions - Yes, some players do care about those Weapons Deal temp powers.

There are others. If someone insists on clicking glowies that aren't theirs after being warned I will kick them from the team.

A friend started playing COH this past Friday, the first day of Double XP weekend. A brand new account. She was gifted every time she went to Miss Liberty to level up.

Whenever I team with someone with only one or now vet badges I give them money. I have plenty and they're just starting. Encouraging new players is the way to keep the game healthy.
  21. Welcome Dr. Aeon!

Can you please, pretty please with sugar on top, fix the outdoor map spawn points? It doesn't matter whether you choose 'front, middle, back', the objectives can spawn anywhere because there is only one 'zone' in an outdoor map.

In particular I would like to the see the RWZ maps fixed. Having objectives spawn next to or on top of the Vanguard firebase can result in objectives taken out by NPCs and the mission self-completing.

PS: Please do not remove these maps. It's a bug, not an exploit.
  22. The first mission of Crimson's Arc. I bug reported it a few weeks ago.

Whew! I attached the folders so that's good.

Is there any indication why they want the folders and are not playing them off the game itself? Someone could send in mission folders that aren't the same as the story on live.
  24. Just as a note the contest submissions rules wanted folders attached. Yahoo doesn't attach folders, only files. Since this is my registered email, I attached the files and hoped for the best.

Also, if there is no custom villain group I hope I won't be DQ'd before the entry is even looked at since I didn't have one to attach. (It's a canon arc - no custom mobs.)

Very frustrating since I didn't realize I needed screenshots until I was ready to submit then had to rush through my arc and get them in time to submit.
