First Server

I know many here probably started right out on the Liberty server, but I was just curious if others like myself did.

My first server was Champion, being a player of that fine Super Hero PnP game. (Pen and Paper, not Plug and Play.) I played around there for maybe a month, tops.

Then I tried the RP server, got sick of dance parties, and was out of there quickly. I am not knocking that server. People have a lot of fun there. It just wasn't for me. Besides, if I truly roleplayed, I would never make it to my first mission! Mugging on every street corner, gang violence in between the muggings! So much crime to stop, so little time!

I do not recall exactly how I ended up on Liberty. It was either no more spaces left on Champion (alt-aholic here), or there was a specific hero name I wanted and Liberty was the first server with it available.

I may not recall the reason, but for the next 14-15 months I stayed on Liberty and had the best gaming experience I have had online. I am glad circumstances brought me here. (And now you're stuck with me! )

Let's see what brought others here!

I actually started out on Protector for a few weeks myself. Some RL friends said to switch over Liberty because that is where they played. Seeing as it's more fun to play with friends, I did so.

Then 6 months later they left for WoW... some friends huh. LOL

But I stayed because I met so many wonderful people here. Some of the best people are on this server.

I came to play on Liberty because that is where my friend that introduced me to CoH played.
Green Eyed Lady is to blame for all the great people on Liberty being stuck with me.

When I installed the game Liberty was the first server I clicked on. At the time I had no idea there were east coast/west coast servers or the like. But after meeting the people I have here and making some great friends. I stayed. I don't even play on any of the other servers atm.

When I started playing my friends and I chose Justice. After about a year I had some PC problems and had to leave the game. When I came back my brother in law was on Liberty and my friends had moved on to WoW and other games. Now my Brother in law has moved on to WoW as well.

I started out on Pinnacle in July 04 because that is where my husband and our friends were playing. Their interest in the game waned and I came to Liberty server at American Valor's suggestion in early 2005. I've been playing here ever since. I still play on Pinnacle and Virtue, where another friend invited me, from time to time but Liberty is home now.

It didn't have a name, it became known as Freedom later. I have toons on every server since launch. As the dust settled I chose Liberty as home, cause I'm

i started on liberty because of the RL friend who got me into the game.

When I first logged in, I picked Liberty from the list of servers as the very concept of one's personal Liberty is an ideal near and dear to me.

Started on Guardian and followed friends here a few years ago. I have been around since Issue 3, but I've also taken about two years off between RL conflicts and burnout. I have really focused on playing villains since the game launched and have not played heroes again until recently. The low villain population on this server has made it difficult to keep my interest at times. At our highest point, there were probably 30 of us together (with countless alts) but there are only a few of us left now. Most have moved on to other games, some have given up on gaming entirely, and some have simply passed on.

I was introduced to COH by a friend (Manchine) LONG before it was released. I waited what seemed like an eternity (Maybe 2 Years) to finally see it go live. Liberty was the server he started on,so I did too. I made my very first character ever on Liberty (Lamorak),and never looked back. I know that all the servers are technically "the same" but I can tell the difference.
Liberty is home and always will be.

I started on Liberty just because the name sounded good for a superhero game.

I stayed because of VuDu_Dawl who welcomed me to the game on that first night and took me on my first team. Then got me started on the forums.

So it is all her fault.

a RL friend had some 50's on Champion around I3...I made a toon over there got him to level 2 and he quit playing. I didn't know anyone and some reason just looking at the list I chose Liberty to make my home..Gamed here for the most part...got a 20 on freedom i deleted..20 on virtue I deleted..from now on from my XP with other servers Ill just buy the extra slots to stay here, I like it here and feel comfortable with most of you as most of you are easy going and not too serious..Also, about 90% of the people I encounter here are my age or older...(aged 25)....Liberty fo' life.

I started on Liberty to play with some RL friends that played at the time. Even though those specific people have long since left for other games, I remain on Liberty as I've made other friends and the place just feels like home now.

I started on Liberty because when I turned the game on, it was at the top.

And my first toon was a pink haired scraper I deleted her at level 5.

I have chars spread across pretty much every server...this is back when CoH first launched and my friend and I were just making random toons on diff. servers for whatever reason. I then read about the East/West coast servers and so I was like, "friend, we should be an east coast server...possibly more people in our time zone..." he said, "ok." Then we looked at the list and just chose Liberty as our 'home' server.
